The Adventure of the Kecapi

The Adventure of the Kecapi
Chapter 171

It was a new experience for Han Beng that made his face somewhat reddish. He is usually accepted with the eyes of pity or scorn, but only once people deal with it as not a gem, as an ordinary buyer.

Facing this new experience, Han Beng was somewhat stunned and how he expected that there was enough money in his pocket for him to actually buy the medicine he needed.

Moreover, the eyes of the girl were so full of confidence, there was not the slightest trace of ridicule or contempt in the eyes of that girl.

"I do need medicine, Miss. My teacher is sick, has a fever and cough, it's been two weeks" Han Beng said.

"Fever and cough? Of course, there is a cure for that! Your teacher, how old is he?" asked the lady who was looking at Han Beng curiously.

"About sixty-five years old, Miss." replied Han Beng who was.

"All right! then you wait a minute, let my employees get me the medicine" said the drugstore's miss who then told his employees.

"Uncle Ji, please give the medicine for hot fever and cough commonly suffered by parents!" pinta the Miss.

"Well, how many packages does she want?" ask the clerk who was called Uncle Ji by the lady of the drugstore owner.

"Three packs of uncles." replied the lady and before long uncle Ji came to the lady of the drug store owner and handed over the medicine requested by his mistress.

"Wrap for once cooked and repeated twice, ' Water two bowls leave half the bowl. Drink enough until you recover, sir." explained the lady of the drugstore owner and Han Beng watched carefully.

"Will this three-pack be able to cope with the pain suffered by my teacher miss?' asked Han Beng who was still curious.

"I think three packs are enough" replied the Miss, handing over three packs of fever and cough medicine that she had packed well to Han Beng.

"I'm sorry, Miss. I needed medicine for my sick teacher, but... I mean.. , please help Miss.

to give me medicine for free. Because I don't have the money to buy it" Han Beng said nervously explaining it.

The girl looked dumbfounded. I guess it was true that the two servants were also. The young man begged. It was incredible. It is not worth being a beggar.

"Well.nahhh...! is that really not our guess, miss? He had only come to beg!" exclaim uncle Ji.

"It's shameless, it's young and strong again, and it's not a member of the Red Belt Beggar's Association. Get the fuck out of here!" exclaim the other officer with a growl.

"Ssttt, Uncle Ji! Shut up, let me take care of this!" snapped at the girl who then he faced Han Beng.

"Brother, did your teacher know that you went to get him some medicine by begging?" ask the lady in a soft voice.

"Of course he knows it." replied Han Beng.

The girl widened her beautiful eyes.

"And he didn't forbid his disciple to do that degrading thing in his name?" ask the lady again.

Han Beng smiled and imagined how his teacher who was going to laugh was spinning around hearing this.

"My own teacher also likes to beg why should he ban me, miss?" ask Han Beng.

The girl turned her head and glared at her maid, but it was Han Beng who was used to such words.

"Truly my teacher was a beggar and what I was taught was the science of begging. Miss, will you help me, or not? Otherwise I will beg to another shop" said Han Beng who was preparing to leave.

"Ah, can, can...! of course I'll give you, hasn't that medicine been disposed of?" said the girl then handed the three packs of medicinal herbs to Han Beng, but suddenly heard a loud crack.

"Can't! Can't give anything to this sassy rotten beggar!"

And everyone turned their heads, it turned out that there had appeared three forty-year-old men who forbade people from giving assistance to Han Beng.

Funny thing is that berating Han Beng as a rotten beggar was also a person dressed as a beggar as well as Han Beng. Three of these immigrants wore patchy clothes, but the cloth was still new, presumably indeed made patches of colorful and growing fabrics.

On their waists are red belts. This indicates that they were three members of the famous Red Belt Beggar's Society in the king's city. All the beggars of the king's city were members of the red belt beggars and they all knew the red belt as a sign that they were members of that society.

The Red Belt Beggar's Society considered that they were the ones who had the right to rule over the entire king's city and its territory, and every beggar was not a member, either from within or outside the city. They are not allowed to beg in the king's city without their permission.

They're doing patrols every day to order their members, and now they show up in front of the drugstore. Those who forbade the owner of the drugstore to give alms to Han Beng were three bouncers of the red belt beggars.

This association is very influential and feared by people, they not only gather criminals to join and become hitmen, but also, but even they were able to approach the dignitaries and by giving large-scale bribes of this association into "friends" of high dignitaries.

One would wonder how the beggars were able to hire punters and even bribe dignitaries. Their results were great not to play because every person was obliged to give ten percent of the results they begged to the association.

This society, out of the thousands and even tens of thousands of beggars in the king's city and its region, was certainly a huge treasure in number. And the assembly was led by clever people, even the one who sat at the top was a powerful beggar king.

Han Beng who was already excited to get the medicine he needed, when ready to receive the three medicine hunchbacks with a shaving eye, of course, was pestering also seeing the attitude of these three people.

They were beggars, like him, how now to disturb fellow beggars. He had never encountered such insolence.

"Buddles," Han Beng said calmly but firmly.

"Why do you come to forbid people from helping me and why do you curse me?" ask the curious Han Beng.
