Chapter 22's

At two o'clock in the morning, a mysterious woman steps into the room where Cristal's mother-in-law is being treated. The hospital looked deserted, only a few nurses were on guard but no one was suspicious at all about the mysterious woman's presence.

The woman had no trouble finding the room where Cristal's mother-in-law was cared for, she seemed to have known everything so she could enter easily. When she entered, Angela did wake up and look at the woman but because she was wearing the clothes of a nurse so Angela was unsuspecting and went back to sleep.

All done without a hitch, the woman even smiled looking at the old woman lying helplessly. So that no one knows the old woman's condition, the heart's performance detector was removed so that Cristal did not wake up and after that, the heart's performance detector was removed, the strange and dangerous liquid was injected into the infusion liquid so that it entered into the blood killer of Cristal's mother-in-law and killed him slowly.

After doing so, the mysterious woman came out of the room and contacted someone to report if the task was done. After the toxic liquid that had been mixed into the infusion began to work, Cristal's mother-in-law began to have difficulty breathing. The old woman could only rebel because she felt her heart crumple and hit. He desperately wanted to call Cristal but his voice was nonexistent.

The reaction of the poison was so fast, his body even felt stiff and his breathing started to be difficult. The woman's eyes bulged, oxygen began to diminish and the heart was beating weakly. It did not take long, even in just a matter of minutes, he was already lifeless due to the poison given.

That is why Gail brought Cristal and her daughter to live with her. Whether the mysterious woman who killed Cristal's mother-in-law is still under investigation. He suspected the woman of doing so as a warning to Cristal. Honestly, he was suspicious of one man, Lucius. The man would do anything for his purpose, and it could have been a warning to Cristal for the woman to think about his offer well otherwise he would have done something else and just maybe, just maybe, princess Cristal will be next.

Cristal still could not believe what he heard. She also did not expect her mother-in-law to end up tragically like that. Was the one who did it one of the people that her husband was blinded by?? Everything can happen but one thing is for sure, he's in trouble.

"How now?" christal asked, he looked puzzled because he did not know what he should do.

"What's how?" Gail glanced at him.

"If my mother-in-law is killed by someone, it means that me and my daughter are in danger."

"That's why I brought you here, you'll be safe here," Gail approached him, Cristal's eyes not off of him.

"But we can't stay long in your house. I don't want to bother you, I also have to go to work!"

"Stupid, there's no need to think about unimportant things!" Gail grabbed his waist and clasped Cristal's body. He did not care about the others, which was certain that the woman was already together with him. Nor was he afraid that if he were to face Lucius, he would do anything to protect the woman and her daughter.

"You don't have to work anymore, just take good care of your daughter!" gail said again.

"What about my debts if I don't work?"

"Don't you say all that debt was left by your husband?"

"If so you don't have to worry about it. I'm gonna find out why your husband owes so much and what all that money is for. I'll find the man who should be responsible for all his debts if there are any."

"Why?" Cristal ventured to hug Gail, "Why are you so nice to me when no one cares about a single mother like me but why do you care?" ask again.

"Let's know, I told you I don't know for sure I want you!"

"Young people like yourself, who have a lot of money, isn't it not hard for you to get a single woman who is worth it to you? You don't have to bother getting involved in the problems I'm having, you don't have to spend as much money as you do. I have a daughter, if you're with me then you have to accept her. Wouldn't you rather be with a single woman?"

"I don't care about any of that because, as I know, I want you. There is no perfect man nor am I. I've decided to chase after you so I have to accept everything that's on you as well as your daughter. I can take it because it's staying here until I know who killed your mother-in-law and until I know what your husband did while he was alive."

Cristal did not answer but his tears flowed down. He was very lucky to meet a man as good as Gail. His embrace was even tighter, was he supposed to be happy with the man's existence? Honestly, there is a feeling of fear in the heart. Right now she was just a helpless woman, there was nowhere safe for her to return to and there was also no one she relied on. Was his decision to trust the man wrong?

"Thank you, I don't know how to thank you for sure right now I can only rely on you when I'm like this. I know I can't trust someone easily but where else should I go? There is no safe place for me in this city, there is no place for me to return. I'm so grateful that you're willing to give me a safe place and also my daughter" Cristal said, crying sobbing.

"Stupid, no need to thank. Just stay by my side and trust me. Don't ask why, don't think much because I'm not a criminal and I'm not a baj*ngan who will take advantage of your helplessness!"

Cristal nodded, he felt a sense of security in the man's arms. He also felt that the man was not using himself. He must learn to trust Gail, even if they don't know each other well. As time goes on, they will get to know each other later.

Gail's embrace also tightened, the woman she always saw in the afternoon was now at her house. He did not expect to bring the woman back but he felt that the decision he made was not wrong. At the time, Gail desperately wanted to kiss Cristal's lips but unfortunately Angela came out of the kitchen.

Their embrace loosened, Cristal immediately approached her daughter and held her in her arms. She also brings Angela to Gail because she wants to introduce her daughter to the man so that Angela is not afraid of him anymore because it is possible, they will stay there long enough until it is safe and all is well.
