The Return of the Mad Witch

The Return of the Mad Witch
Meet Leah

Valencia decided to ignore any kind of yelling from Linnea. Even until midnight the girl was still roaring and asking the knights to unlock the prison. As a result, the knights were troubled because Linnea was endlessly shouting without realizing her mistake.

The sloping issue that continues to hit the Alegra Empire is considered as a jackal for the sake of advancing people's lives. This showed the general public, especially the common people, that imperial law was indiscriminate. All can be punished and tried according to the crime that has been committed.

The advancement of imperial law was the result of what Valencia did. Eradicate injustice, destroy the court of selfishness, and overhaul all human moral destruction from the most basic. It is because of this that Valencia is known as a woman who is more capable than a man and has the talent to be a leader.

"I have found it" said Reibert.

"Huh? You've found her? You mean Prince Stephen's nanny?"

Reibert nodded. "Right, Prince Stephen's nanny I found. I have now secured it. Hopefully, Rudolf doesn't know about this matter."

"When can I see him?" ask Valencia.

"You can see him tomorrow. However, remember to speak slowly because it seems like he is still traumatized by the death of Prince Stephen" Reibert said.

Time flies by so fast, that tomorrow comes, the day Valencia will meet Leah — Stephen's former nanny who ran away from the palace after Stephen's mysterious death.

Leah's current existence is in one of the rooms that are in the Reibert residence. By the time Valencia saw Leah, he was quite surprised because Leah looked so thin and it seemed like she had a very heavy mind load.

"Mrs Leah, there's someone who wants to meet" Reibert said.

Leah raised her head, she stared lethargicly at Valencia.

"Who?" tanyakanya.

"Hello, Mrs Leah. I'm Valencia, Archduke Calestine's adopted daughter. I'm here because I want to talk to you about something" Valencia said.

"Talking about something?"

Valencia also sat down against Leah. The same frustration and depression Leah felt took everything away from her.

"Right, I want to talk about the late Prince Stephen."

Hearing Stephen's name, his expression changed. Leah looked panicked, agitated, and frightened. However, he tried to hold back all the feelings that had built up in his heart.

"I know nothing about Prince Stephen! Don't ask me, don't ask me anything. I have nothing to do with Prince Stephen."

Exactly as Valencia suspected, Leah did keep something she never told anyone. During this time Leah keeps everything alone so that it makes a special pressure for her.

"You looking for evidence? Does that mean you know that Prince Stephen was murdered?" The restlessness in Leah vanished as Valencia spoke of the fact of Stephen's murder.

"Yes, I know, that's why I came to see you talking about Prince Stephen's death."

Leah's gaze radiated relief, finally she found someone she could use as a place to pour out all kinds of secrets she had been quieting for years. Leah looked at Valencia full of confidence, he believed Valencia was someone who could hold his secret.

"Actually, I saw with my own eyes that Prince Rudolf was the one who killed Prince Stephen. However, I cannot do anything because I have no power against Prince Rudolf."

"That day I saw very clearly, Prince Rudolf buried Prince Stephen's head into the lake. Prince Stephen pleaded to be released. However, Prince Rudolf did not let it go."

"When Prince Stephen's life was on the verge of death. Prince Rudolf pushed Prince Stephen into the lake. Which condition at that time he was weak helpless. I'm one step late in saving Prince Stephen."

"Since then, I was haunted by guilt, especially to the Emperor and Empress. I want to reveal Prince Rudolf's crime case. Unfortunately, I have no power to do so. I am sure neither the Emperor nor the Empress will believe my words. What's more, Prince Rudolf is very good at manipulating others" Leah explained in detail.

Leah's explanation is easily understood by Valencia and Reibert. They were shocked to learn that Rudolf wasn't just pushing Stephen into the lake. Before that, he buried Stephen's head until it made the boy die. It was cruel, it was inconceivable how dirty Rudolf's heart was.

"Miss, do you want to acknowledge all that you saw before the Emperor and the Empress?" ask Valencia.

"Confess? I'm not that brave, Miss. I was afraid to backfire on myself. Moreover, Prince Rudolf's reputation was excellent in this empire."

"There I am, I alone will guarantee it because I am a person who is not bound by the views of society. Had the Madam agreed to confess before the Emperor, then I would have protected you no matter what. I have also prepared another piece of evidence for the sake of plunging Prince Rudolf behind bars."

Valencia continues to try to convince Leah not to worry about his security. All doubts in Leah were pushed aside strongly by Valencia.

"Are you really going to protect me, Miss? To be honest my life was very chaotic after the death of Prince Rudolf. I have always been haunted by guilt and unease for hiding this from both the Emperor and the Empress."

Leah's tears fell down her cheeks. It is clear that Leah actually loved Stephen. Just because of the ambition that blinded Rudolf to the point of making Stephen a victim, Leah had a hard time handling her own life.

Then Valencia came to bring calm and spacious chest for Leah. This way Leah no longer needed to keep such a big secret by herself.

"I understand how you feel, ma'am, you're the one who took care of Prince Stephen. You must know his favorite foods, his habits, and the things he hates. And so, I decided to help you. Take it easy, and behind me is the Archduke Calestine."

Leah wiped away her tears, she had made the right decision by involving Valencia into her secret. Now it's just a matter of time until Leah is fully ready to reveal everything.

"All right, thank you, Miss. I'm really grateful to you. This way I can be a little calmer because you have promised to protect me. For the sake of Prince Stephen I will reveal everything to the Emperor and the Empress."
