The Scards: Start!

The Scards: Start!
Chapter 11: Open a New Sheet

The sound of the clanking of spoons and forks clashing with plates echoed in a dining room belonging to the Anderson family. It looks like four different people of middle age are enjoying dinner with wisdom. On the table there are various kinds of luxurious dishes that are appetizing.

"I'm done." Say Abimayu in a cold tone. The black-haired teenager with hazel-brown eyes immediately headed upstairs without waiting for a response from her family.

Derrick and Helena could only sigh when they saw the change of their beloved eldest son since Ran's death three weeks ago. The couple stared at the back of the son who had disappeared at the end of the stairs with a difficult look.

Emillia could only stare at the sister's back sadly. Next to her hand held the spoon firmly, channeling the stifled emotions.

"It's all because of that disgrace." Emillia with hate. I don't know what Emillia thinks to hate Ran who has died. Are you going to dismantle Ran's grave to torture her skeleton eh, Emillia?

Abimayu lay on a queen-size bed in her pastel-gray room. The young man's mind wandered into the past.

Since Ran's death, there has been a strong feeling in his heart. His memory is haunted by the face of Ran who always looks sad during his life.

Abimayu admits Ran looks different from the rest of her family. Especially the color of their hair and eyes.

Even though they were brothers, Abimayu never greeted Ran let alone taking the time to play with him nor did he ever do.

Abimayu silently watched Ran from a distance. The young man never helped or defended Ran while being severely tortured by his mother and Emillia, he only noticed his youngest sister being tortured from afar. As night falls, Abimayu sneaks into Ran's room and stares at the innocent face of the little girl who was asleep in a dream.

Even if they spoke, Abimayu could only speak in a high tone with her sister even scolding her even though Ran never made a mistake.

When he saw Ran close to Ellios, playing and joking happily even though he was the son of a family driver made him so envious.

Until his recklessness, he asked Damian to keep Ellios who was then slumped out of the reach of the little girl, since then he always saw Ran moody and crying in silence. Ever since Ellios' departure, no sound of Ran's laughter had been heard in Anderson's luxurious residence - not even a happy smile had ever been seen on the poor little girl's innocent face.

Instead of comforting, Abimayu even let Ran just like that. Until several times the young man saw Kirania come home late with a body full of blisters and blood on his clothes and a look of sadness full of emptiness that was seen in the look of the little girl's eyes.

Recalling all those memories, without realizing it a drop of tears flowed in both corners of his eyes. Yes, Abimayu cried in silence regretting her actions. He can only act without doing anything. Aren't you being too selfish and cruel to Ran psychically, Abimayu?

Kirania walked down the hospital hallway with a happy expression. Finally he could breathe free air without the smell of drugs greeting his smell and bland food greeting his taste buds.

Kirania decides to change her submissive and oppressive nature and uses the name given by her father while undercover at Anderson's residence, Kirania Revalina. She vows to bury her dark past and she will become a strong girl with a thick steel that is not easily pierced. He was fed up of getting unfair treatment in his birthplace.

Training with the Aquarius makes him mentally stronger. Thanks to her help, Kirania had adult thoughts when she was twelve years old.

While Albert just stared at his daughter who soon turned into a teenager. Kirania's body looks thin and fragile, her size is like a nine-year-old child.

During Albert's disguise as Alex, the man sees how the Anderson family treats the little girl. He was given only dry bread, stale milk, even leftovers. It was not uncommon for Kirania not to be fed all day by the Anderson family.

Albert disguises himself as a chef at Anderson's residence at the behest of Damian, where the two wealthy families are business colleagues vying for control of a city. A mission to investigate Kirania that looks different in the two families.

The man took six months to undertake missions from the two wealthy families to avoid being suspected by Derrick and Helena. But a girl named Ran caught his attention.

The first time he saw the little girl who soon turned seven, the man was fixated on seeing the resemblance of Ran and himself, they looked like a betel in two. The difference between them is that Albert is a man in his early twenties and Kirania is just a little girl in her half-year-old emanation.

The first time talking to the little girl, a feeling of familiarity and wanting to protect came to her heart.

The first time he saw the innocent gaze of the little girl, all the burden and fatigue he had felt was gone.

When he found out the truth, he wanted to get to know the girl more closely. The man secretly meets with Kirania and pours out his affection and performs the role of a father both as Alex and as Albert.

"Papa, where do we live after this?" Kirania's question managed to break Albert's daydream.

"You'll know later." Albert answered with a mysterious smile.

"I hope you don't take me to the crocodile enclosure or the other world." Kirania's sigh while sneering made the man roll his eyes.

"You want to live there?" Bargain Albert as he rattled the head of Kirania with anxiety.

"Come, Pa. Can't you stop shaking my head? My hair's messy!" The protest of Kirania while looking at the father was upset. He immediately tidied up his short hair that was messy due to Albert's hand.

The man only chuckled lightly while getting some protection from his daughter, unwittingly they had been discharged from the hospital and were immediately heading for the highway.

They waited for a taxi, before long a taxi glided in the distance approaching them. Albert immediately gave a stop sign to the taxi and the taxi slowed down and stopped in front of them.

Albert immediately opened the passenger door and told Kirania to get inside the passenger seat. After making sure the child had sat down, Albert sat down next to Kirania and mentioned his destination, the driver immediately drove his car to blend in with the other riders on the highway.

They arrived at a simple twenty-story apartment building that soared handsomely before him decorated with lights from the apartment's occupant's room.

"Papa lives here?" Kirania asked as she watched the twenty-story building flatly.

"so. Sorry if my apartment isn't a fancy apartment." Albert replied awkwardly.

"The important thing in it is comfortable and there is a bed. If we need to buy a house just to be more comfortable." Kirania replied while breezing in.

Albert just laughed awkwardly with the response of the child. The man immediately caught up with Kirania who had first cheered in, leaving him just like that.

But his steps stopped when he saw Kirania wailing in the hallway of the apartment making Albert scrunch his forehead. "What's wrong?" Albert asked towards Kirania who looked puzzled.

"Who lives in which unit?" Kirania asked while grinning sinlessly at the father who was walking towards her. He did not know if this apartment had many hallways.

Albert almost stumbled upon the question posed by Kirania. Without saying a word he immediately passed by Kirania heading to an elevator that was near the stairs. The girl followed Albert with her signature poker face.

"I think you already know considering you just glanced inside." Said Albert while glancing at Kirania who was standing next to him.

"I just want to get to bed quickly and go straight to bed." Sally cute. Albert only snorted listening to the answer from his daughter and directly pressed down on the sixteen floor.

After hearing the story from Albert, the girl was speechless. Alex's ever-loving uncle disappeared when he was just eight years old. A week later he met Albert and he felt comfortable with him. Just like with Alex.

Their voices sounded similar, even their treatment of him was exactly the same. They like to shuffle their hair or pinch their cheeks.

He did not expect, they were both the same person and were his own real father.

Kirania does not blame Albert for her past. But he did not expect the treatment of his biological family to be so cruel.

Kirania and Albert vow to bury the dark past. They start a new life in this city as a father and son with their own secrets.
