Happy reading!
After traveling for 20 minutes, the car driven by Mas Denis had stopped right in the hospital lobby.
"Delano, please park this car!" Without waiting for Delano to answer, I saw Mas Denis straight out of the car in a hurry.
"Lissa, you go in first! I'll catch up after parking this car."
"But ...."
"It's nothing. I won't be long anyway." Rubbing my head, Delano said that with a smile. Without being able to resist, I also nodded obediently.
"Yes I'm first." After getting out of the car, I began to accelerate my footsteps to catch up with Mas Denis who had already entered the lobby.
Until finally, my eyes can find the figure of Mas Denis standing in front of the elevator with a man who I think he is the man. Not wanting to miss, I ran up to him and right when the elevator door opened I still had time to enter following Mas Denis.
"Mas, how is Mira's current condition?" I asked along with the elevator door that closed, then started moving up.
"Mira has been transferred to the ward and said the doctor who handled it, she has a disease ...." Denis hung up his words. It made me more curious and instantly anxiety took hold of me.
"Mas, tell Mira why?" I asked that worriedly. Fortunately, there were only three of us in the elevator with no other visitors.
"Mira has glioblastoma."
"What disease is it, Mas?" Honestly, I just heard the name of the disease for the first time. A name that sounds so foreign that I find it difficult to understand what exactly the disease suffered by my twin sister.
"Brain cancer ...." My legs felt weak as if they were powerless. The news is, of course, very surprising. For me it's like a dejavu, reminding me of my late father who also experienced the same thing as Almira.
"Oh my God .. Can Mira still be healed?" The stupid question was thrown out of my mouth, but I knew very well that the disease was not curable and took my father's life.
Inevitably the news from Mas Denis made me weaker. Even my legs are boneless right now and very heavy to support my own body. I slowly stepped back to the back. Relying on my body that is not powered up while crying with sobbing.
"Lissa, you're patient! At least one thing we can do right now, which is to give Mira happiness for the rest of her life."
"But in what way, Mom? Wouldn't that mean nothing if he still had to die?" I firmly said that while staring at Mas Denis who was like harboring a certain intent.
"Didn't he have a final request in a letter written to you? So, you should grant her request even if it's hard for you to do." Denis asked back. The question that immediately made me remember the request of Almira that I had refused while in front of him.
"I mean Mas Denis, should I go back to being your wife and replace Mira as Keisha's mother?" At least, at this time I began to understand the meaning of Mas Deni's words.
"Yes, but that's also if you really want to make Mira happy at the end of her life. If you keep resisting, Mira will definitely be very disappointed."
Now I understand Mas Denis' intentions. He was really cornering me to go back to him and I think this is the wrong moment amid the bad news about Almira.
"I wanted to ask you before, Mom. What exactly is the reason you want me to come back with you?" Regardless of the whereabouts of his men I asked. However, until the elevator door opened, Mas Denis remained silent without answering. Even until we got out of the elevator, he still did not answer my question and just continued to follow his men towards the room where Mira was being treated.
"Here's the room, sir."
"Well, now you can go!"
"Good, Sir. Then excuse me first." The man also left. Leaving me and Mas Denis alone in front of the room. However, just as I was about to open the door, she held my wrist.
"Do you want to know the answer?" Denis asked at a time I thought was not right. I really don't think with his thoughts. While his wife was lying weakly on the bed, he urged me to go back to him. Did he really never love Almira as written in the letter?
