The Wedding
39. I Miss You Like Crazy

Tony stepped into the room he had been in with Cora, staring at their wedding photos hanging well on the walls inside their room with a sad look.

"Where are you, baby? I miss you like crazy." Tony smiled softly, "This longing is killing me Cora. My chest feels so tight and this pain is so painful. Don't you miss me?" Tony said softly. He looked at Cora's beautiful face with a sad look. At this moment he was anxious to touch his wife's smooth cheeks, hugging the woman's body which felt so fitting in her arms and inhaling her intoxicating scent.

Tony was devastated at this moment, his heart was like a glass falling to the floor and shards were scattered everywhere.

Only Cora can heal the pain she feels, only she can save him from the longing that kills him and only she can make his world shine again. I don't know until when he has to continue to be tormented by that longing.

...***...

Time seemed so slow to travel, second to second it passed very slowly, like a snail walking. One day was like a year for Tony. He could not count how many days had passed, he could not count how long he had been tormented with a longing that so stifled his chest, he could no longer count how long the figure of the woman he loved had gone from his side. All he knew, he had to find the woman and bring her back to his side. He would never let the woman go from his side again.

Tony drives his car at top speed as he gets word from one of the private detectives he hired. He can see a speck of bright light in his life as he listens to the detective say that he has found Cora, his wife.

Minutes passed, Tony arrived at a restaurant where he met the private detective.

He turned his eyes around the restaurant and tried to find a middle-aged man who had worked with him for several months.

"Sir Tony is here." a middle-aged man waved his hand towards Tony. Tony expanded his pace quickly towards the man.

"Have you found my wife?" without further ado Tony immediately asked the whereabouts of the woman he had missed.

"Please sit down first sir." the man smiled kindly and invited Tony to sit in a chair located in front of him. Tony pulled up the chair and sat down before the man. He stared hard at the man.

"I get the info that the father's wife had come to Mount Sinabung, North Sumatra. By the time the mountain erupted his wife was there, but after I got there, I could not find his wife. He had long since left the mountain."

"According to the local residents, the father's wife is one of the volunteers who help the residents there, but they are not clear she is a volunteer from a foundation or individual. There were too many volunteers there and no one noticed where the father's wife was coming from." The man smiled wryly, he did not want to disappoint his client. He wanted to tell Tony the news on the phone, but Tony refused and wanted to go straight to the private detective he hired.

"Is there any more info? where did Cora go after that?" Tony asked in an anxious tone of voice.

"No sir," The man shook his head weakly, "He was only a few days there, not more than a week. It is very difficult to trace his current whereabouts. I'm sorry, I can only get this very little information about the whereabouts of my father's wife."

"It's okay." Tony smiled softly, "Hearing the news just made me a little relieved, but I couldn't calm down until I found my wife. Please work even harder, I'll pay you a huge sum if you manage to find my wife." Tony looked at the man before him with a pitiful look and was also tormented. He was so saddened by Cora's departure. Cora took a part of her soul away, she was like a soulless being right now. He lived his days with a longing that seemed to kill him.

"Okay sir, I'll do as much as I can, then if you'll excuse me, I'll call you again if I get any other info about your wife." The man stood up and he shook Tony's hand. He walked over and left Tony sitting limp in his chair.

There were no words that could describe his current feelings. He was sad and happy at the same time. He is saddened and disappointed that the detective he hired could not find Cora. The woman was hiding behind the hemisphere, hiding in a place she could not find.

I know that I'm the one who let you get away from my side. Supposedly, I fought for you to stay by my side, but my fear overcame my common sense. My heart calls your name every day because I miss you so much. I miss you so much, Cora. I miss you like crazy, please come back to me, Tony muttered in his heart. He stared at the empty table in front of him.

The longing he felt at this moment seemed to kill him slowly. He did not know until when he could endure that longing feeling that was so tormenting to him. All he knew, Cora had taken her heart away with him and left her a body that had to fight to hold on so she could find the woman.
