Trapped in Ramadhan

Trapped in Ramadhan
Part 19 - Package

...Packet...

14 Ramadan. Early morning.

I've mastered a cell phone that has a video file that will make Rossa can help her friend. And I plan to give this phone to him. But if you're the Dark Jin who just stole a cell phone from a human, you can't just give that phone to another human who can't even communicate with you. If I just left my phone in front of his house, Rossa would be confused. I can't explain it to her. It's not as easy as I thought before.

I'm sitting in the front yard of Rossa's house. The lights are brightly lit inside the house, indicating that Rossa and her family are now eating Sahur. When I just sat here thinking about how to send her a cell phone in the best possible way, Darko the black cat came out of the house and stepped over to me.

"Meow!" Sapa Darko's.

"Yes!" I say hello back. "How are you, buddy?"

"Meow!" Answer Darko. From his tone of voice he seemed to be happy.

I knew him enough to be able to distinguish his tone of voice. "Good then." Saying later.

"Meow?" With a curious tone Darko spoke.

I rarely visit her, so "Meong?" It's more like, "Why come here?".

"It's a long story, man." My heart finally felt guilty.

Drako doesn't make any more noise. Just looking at me with her two sharp sliced eyes. After I watched him for a long time, an idea came to me. Maybe I can give Rossa a cell phone with Darko. Maybe I can steal a piece of paper and a pen to write a description of Rimba's phone, a password to unlock it, a video file location, and so on, the video was never shown to anyone else or duplicated. Yeah, maybe it could work. All I need is paper and pen, and Darko's cooperation. How hard will it be?

"Hey, man!" Call me to get his attention distracted because he licks a feather on his front leg.

"Meow!" Darko refocused on me.

"I want you to get me some paper and a pen!" I gave instructions. "understand? Paper and pen!"

"Meow!" Darko voiced out in a long tone before turning around and running towards the house. Then he jumped in from one of the open windows.

I didn't think it would be this easy. But it can't be this easy. Because a while later, Darko jumped out of the same window and ran over to me. But what was brought was not paper and pen.

"Meow!" Darko put a fried fish in front of me.

"I'm touched because you care about me by giving food, man." I said while pointing at the fried fish. "But this is not what I asked for."

Darko looked at me for a while before meowing and started eating the fish he was carrying. How could I forget that Darko was just a Cat instead of a Chimpanzee whose intelligence approached that of a human?

I waited patiently until Darko finished his fried fish. After that he meowed again at me and entered the house through the window. Darko never came out again. Looks like my plan failed.

I might not be able to get Darko to deliver the phone to Rossa. But I still have hope for my idea to give you a cell phone along with a caption that I'm going to write. So I spent my time training my handwriting with the pen in the book that I borrowed from Rossa's neighbor's house. Don't accuse me of stealing! I have permission to borrow both items from them. It's not my fault they can't see and hear me.

I continued to practice on sheets of paper until the ink on this little pen was exhausted and could no longer be used. After all my efforts, the results of my handwriting can be said to be "extraordinary". It's amazing that I can't do it right even though I recognize the letters of the alphabet. My handwriting even resembles a line of suffering black ants.

Writing is not as easy as it seems. At least for Jin like me. At one point I concentrated too much until the pen flushed and I could figure out what this pen was going through. Over the past few days this pen has written many things ranging from puzzling physics formulas, strange caricatures of a man whose head is stuck in a wooden ruler that seems to depict an annoying teacher, and less intelligent writings on the walls of school toilets. The things I saw destroyed my concentration.

I can run at the speed of a human-designed sport bike, I can penetrate man-made buildings, I can hide things from human vision, and I can even see pieces of human memory. My abilities clearly surpass those of humans. But I can't write properly. How could I fail to do something simple that humans can easily do? It sucks! And my plan failed miserably!

--

Afternoon.

For the rest of the day I followed Rossa to deliver the package from one place to another. When I saw him do that, I thought about sending Rimba's phone to Rossa's address in the mail. But I'm not sure the post will deliver the package from Jin. So I ignored that plan. I continued to follow Rossa until she stopped at a familiar spot in the West. The Black Jewel stops at Al-Alim Mosque to perform the Ashar Prayer. While I wait in the courtyard of the mosque.

"During the time I didn't see you." Adam Si Marbot Mosque. "Where are you?" Ask later.

"Replace." Answer's short.

"okay." Adam nodded. Then he pointed to my right hand and asked, "Whose is that?"

I looked at what he pointed at and asked, "You can see this?"

"Yes." Yeah." Adam with a confused expression. "But why is it so bright red?"

Sure was! That makes sense. If Adam could see me, he would also be able to see the things I had hidden from the sight of other humans. In this case, the phone is a jungle.

"It doesn't matter if you don't want to tell a story." Said Adam.

Again he used a kind of reverse psychology to get me to reveal what he wanted to know. And I did tell him. I told you everything about the Jungle, Rossa, Black Gem, Wild Racing, and the Video on Rimba's phone. I explained to her the situation of Rossa who was involved in an agreement with Rimba because she wanted to help her friend who was the ex-boyfriend of the South Herd Boss of the Two-wheeled Gang.

"So you don't know how to give that to Rossa?" Adam asked, pointing at the phone.

"The right way without confusing or scaring him." I'm correcting.

"I can give it to him if you want." Adam proposes.

"You mean?"

"Give it to Rossa and tell her that the video file has only one and no one else has seen it."

"If Rossa asks where did you get this from, what would you answer?"

"I got from an acquaintance who hacked into the party last night whose identity was kept a secret."

"You think he'll believe it?"

"Don't know if I didn't try."

I weighed the proposal that Adam gave me. Looks like it's gonna work. But I need to make sure of something. "Why do you want to do that?"

"I just want to help. Just like you." Adam answered quickly with a smile.

I watched him closely. "And..."

"OKAY. I admit." Said Adam whose smile instantly disappeared. "Actually I also want to ask Rossa for help today."

"What help?" I asked that Adam could not answer because he soon passed as he saw Rossa coming out of the Mosque.

I approached Adam who was chatting with Rossa and listened to their conversation.

"Yes. Five more." Sahut Rossa's.

"It's all in between around here?" Ask Adam.

"Yes." Yeah." Rossa nodded. "West Country."

"Can I ask for help?"

"What about?"

"So usually the time of Ramadan there are residents here, Pak Haji, his house is five houses back there." Adam said, pointing to the back of the mosque. "Usually Pak Haji distributed rice boxes and envelopes to orphans. Usually me and my friend who take to the houses using his motorbike. But my friend's coming home because there's family business." Adam explained. "Usually Pak Hajj share it near the end of Ramadan. But he said there was more sustenance now. So I want to ask you to deliver rice boxes as envelopes as you between packages. I'll give you some money for gas. That's also if you want to."

"Why not ask for help from other residents or administrators of the Mosque?" Ask Rossa.

"There are still busy work, there are also damaged motorcycles." Answer Adam.

Maybe that answer sounds far-fetched and forced. But Adam was honest. I can guarantee that. Because if he lied, there would be a black aura emanating from his body.

"When's the delivery?" Ask Rossa again.

"If you really want to, I can go to Pak Haji's house and say I want to be escorted now." Adam said. "The rice must have been prepared."

"How many boxes?"

"Around the thirties."

"Then I deliver the rest of the package, then come back here again."

"Want to?"

"Yes. But I'll deliver the rest of this package first."

"OK, okay. I'm waiting here."

After agreeing with Adam, Rossa left Al-Alim Mosque to continue delivering the rest of the package.

"What the fuck?" I asked Adam who was smiling happily.

"What?" Ask.

"You're acting weird around Rossa." My word.

"What do you mean?" Ask Adam with his eyebrows clutched. "I'm acting normal."

"Yes, yeah. Whatever." I said the one who didn't want to argue.

"You're acting weird, man." Reply Adam. "So what's the plan to give that to Rossa." He asked, pointing at the phone I was holding.

I'm thinking about it again. Rossa seems to trust Adam. And Adam seems to be really trustworthy. "It!" I said at last while handing Rimba's phone to her. As soon as the phone was in his hands, the red color faded.

"Keep it first." He said while putting the phone in his jeans pocket. "Thank you!"

"For what?"

"Because you trust me."

I sighed and said, "I have no choice, right?"

Adam just nodded. Then after a moment of silence, he said, "I've asked Rian. He said the guy you were referring to was the Chairman of the Two-wheeled Gang."

"Yes, I already know." Reply relax.

"What?" The screech.

"The story is long." My speech. "And I really don't want a story." My welcome.

"Okay, I get it."

"Does Rian know where I can meet this Two-wheeled Guild Leader?"

"He doesn't know." Adam answered, shaking. "Rian said the Chairman moved to another city shortly after resigning."

It means a dead end to me. After what happened last night, I can already guess that the piece of memory I've been seeing as if I'm running myself is the memory of the human who became the Chairman of the Two-wheeled Gang. But I still don't know how I got his memory. Maybe if I meet this human, I can remember it along with my old lost memories.

--

As he said, Rossa returned again to Al-Alim Mosque after delivering the rest of the package. And in his absence, Adam had taken the rice box and envelope from Pak Haji's house to be distributed to the homes of orphans. But Rossa made clear her deal with Adam before leaving.

"I'm gonna deliver all this food." Rossa. "But I won't accept gas money because it's for orphans." He continued. "And you're coming with me too."

"You want me to come?" Ask Adam who holds a paper containing a note of the address of the house to be addressed.

"Because you usually deliver. It's not appropriate that I'm the one who delivered it myself." Rossa said for a reasonable reason.

"Yes, yeah. If that's what you want." Said Adam.

Then Adam helped Rossa lift a large bag of package containers from the motorbike and stored them in her residence.

"Let's ride!" Take Rossa who is already sitting on the bike.

"I thought you wanted me to take the bike." Think Adam.

"I don't want you to take responsibility if there's anything later." Said Rossa.

Adam nodded and did not argue anymore. He sat behind Rossa holding a rice box. While the other package is hung on the hanger on the motor.

They are both ready, even Adam also wears a helmet, which he says belongs to Rian who was loaned to him. After making sure once again no one was left behind, Rossa also drove his motorbike away to bring the humanitarian package he would deliver. And I ran after him and Adam.
