Part 4 - The Battle of the Last Night

...The Battle of the Last Night...

29 Sacrifice. Nightly.

The twilight is just over. The sun has set. The sky began to darken.

I was with Ra-ul and Ri-val joined dozens of other Jin in the grass field where the human-interracial brawl happened this afternoon. This time there were no humans in the field. There are only two Jin camps ready to fight with each other. Dark Jin and Bright Jin.

Elsewhere, humans are running the Council of Isbat to establish when the 1st of Ramadan will be. Information from humans scattered in various places to see the sighting of Hilal—The first young crescent moon that can be seen after the conjunction in the direction of sunset— is collected as the basis of that determination. The Jinn already knew, Hilal was seen in various regions. Tomorrow is the 1st of Ramadan. It also means tonight is the last night before all the Jinn are pulled from Earth.

"This doesn't have to happen!" Exclaims Jin Terang who stands ahead of his group.

There were unhappy calls from around me. Then one of us floated forward. "It's tradition!" Said the Dark Jin with blazing flames extending from his shoulders to his back like a robe. "In addition, you have disturbed us this afternoon. Right here! This place! It will now be a battleground on the last night!"

Seeing that Jin soaring through the air in the dark of the night with his fluttering fire robe reminded me of Superman. Wait for... Whahuh? Superman's? Is that Superman? How do I know that name?

"Groan!!" The cry of the robed Jin blared and made me aghast. Immediately he darted straight ahead, followed by all the Dark Jinn around me who lunged forward to attack the Bright Jin.

I saw Ri-val running quickly and hit Jin Bright until it bounced three meters back. Ra-ul who darted through the air dodged Jin Bright's fist and kicked him from behind until he fell to the ground. Sa-gan collides headers with the other Bright Jin. Soon my surroundings turned into a violent clash. The Dark Jin attacked the Bright Jin with the sole purpose of defeating them. Dozens of Jin beat each other, kicking, snapping, biting, tickling, and shouting war cries. How did all this begin? Well... It started years ago...

In the past, on the last night of the month of Shaytan, the Dark Jin would hunt down and attack the Bright Jin in groups before they disappeared. After a few years, the Jinn of Light decided to join forces and protect themselves as one. Dark Jin was defeated. But the following year, the Dark Jin also merged into a single entity. So after that year, the Dark Jin Fortress and the Bright Jin fought as two great units. The battle always takes place on the last night before the month of Ramadan. If the Bright Jin refused and parted ways, it would instead benefit the Dark Jin. So, Jin Terang kept fighting... To this day.

Many Jin fought while floating in the air. Some of them hit the opponent on the ground. And the strongest little Jin was grappling at an incredible speed. I was in the middle of a battle. Be on standby in case there is a Bright Jin who is interested in attacking me. But it seemed like they were all busy with their respective opponents. My mind doesn't seem to be in the same place. I still don't understand why I saw the appearance of a fallen and bloody human being when I had never met that human. Plus the word Superman that just popped into my mind when I saw the robed Jin. Could that be a piece of my past?

"Yahhhh!!!" The shriek of the Dark Jin dragged from my left and stopped right in front of me. The genie with fire coming out of his ear instantly rose up quickly.

I had met him the night before while watching Wild Racing. I never knew his name. I was just about to ask if he was okay when suddenly Jin Terang lunged and punched him to bounce far to my right side. The Bright Jin stood before me, his head turned towards me with his two golden glowing eyes. This genie must have been over 3 meters tall, as my height was only half that towering in front of me. But I was ready to fight him, but he shook his head and turned and walked away.

"Don't ignore me, oi!" My atonement.

"What?" The bright genie turned towards me.

At the same time, the fire-eared Jin shot towards him with fists ready to be released. The attack should have hit, because he didn't see it. But Jin Terang managed to dodge and his left hand moved swiftly grabbing the neck of Jin Ear Fire, strangling him then lifting him up high, without even turning his head.

"Did you say that?" Ask Jin Lightly. Jin Fire ears thrashed in the clutches of his hands.

I should've helped him. I wanted to, but I said, "You can go on!"

The big jinn growled before turning away and punching the Fire Ear until it slammed deep into the air. Then he jumped up and hit the other Dark Jin who was unfortunate. It is very similar to the Hulk. Whahuh? The hulk? Any more? Who's Hulk? The name just came out of nowhere. This battle atmosphere was messing with my mind!

I stepped up while avoiding Jin-jin around me. I lowered my head as Jin Light floated towards me. I stepped over the Dark Jin that was lying on the grassy ground. And I pretended I didn't see a single genie who fell down with his face and knees kissing the ground and buttocks kissing the air. Pose that is not cool. Hold still... That's the Fire Ear! It must have just fallen from the sky after Jin Hulk's punch earlier... Well, obviously I don't see that. I said Hulk again? Lothawat! I need to get out of this place! I quickened my pace, now I'm running! Then...

"Bronch!!"

My run came to a halt because a figure of Dark Jin suddenly fell before me. Damn, I recognize that Jin too. Sa-gan Si Fire Gloves. His body flickered red. With one hand raised and a languishing voice he said, "It's not fair... I haven't punched anyone yet..." Then...

"Boom!"

"Boom up! Booms! Booms! Boom!!!"

They all disappeared. Then I saw a flickering Jin slamming towards me from the front. I crossed my arms to withstand the force of the impact. But before that happens...

"Boom!"

The genie vanished while it slammed into the air! I turned and ran. But I hit another Jin. The genie fell backwards with both arms propping up his body.

The one in front of me was a Jin whose body proportions resembled that of a female human. Obviously she must be a female Jin. The flames on his head flared extending to the back of his back and splitting on both sides of his face all the way to his chest like human hair. When I looked into his eyes, the light was golden red... The Bright Jin. And I was fascinated by the beauty of her figure sparkling golden in the dark tonight.

Then it happened again... The atmosphere around me changed. I was no longer in the field and what I saw before me was not a Jin, but a human. A girl sitting in the same position. The long black haired girl wore black tight jeans and a dark blue long sleeve shirt. His face was bruised on his left cheek and his watery black eyes were staring straight into my eyes.

The next second my back hit the ground as one of the Jinn of Light lunged at me. The genie was crouching over my body with his right hand choking my neck. "Don't bother him!" Her speech.

I recognised. The hooded genie that intercepted us in the park. He didn't seem to like me, because the giggles were getting tighter. His face looked at me fiercely as if I had just insulted his grandmother. "You're different..." He said in a cold tone. Then his countenance turned confused as he said, "You're not.."

"Bukh!"

The hooded jinn bounced off Ri-val's kick.

"You okay?" Ri-val asked as she extended her hand to help me.

"Yes. Thanks..!" I said as soon as I stood up straight. Then I realized something and said, "Your body!"

"Ah, this is." said Ri-val calmly as she looked at her flickering red body. "It's time. Looks like I'm ahead... I'm waiting for you at.."

"Boom!"

Ri-val disappears before finishing his sentence.

"He's gone?" Ask a familiar voice from behind me.

I turned to Ra-ul who was stepping on the Bright Jin lying beneath him. I pointed at him and said, "You too.."

"Well..." The sigh of dissatisfaction Ra-ul was so aware his body was also flickering. "OKAY. Last words... Must cool... What yes? Whahuh? Whahuh? Whahuh? Ahah! That's her! I'm.."

"Boom!"

He's missing too. Now I wonder what the rest of the sentence is. Looks like it's gonna be cool. But then I remembered the Jin I just hit. I looked at his place, and... He wasn't there. I swigged around, but I couldn't find him, the hooded Jin, too, they disappeared. All Jin... Dark or Light... One by one they disappear... Until I was left alone in this field.

Okey... I'm ready to catch up with them. Whenever it is! I hope it doesn't hurt. I waited... Keep waiting... Still waiting... And... Nothing happened! I'm still in this field! Just me alone! What the hell is going on???
