Chapters 18. Louisa's Concerns

Jack was still smiling he shifted his plate to the side. Louisa stared in wonder, would Jack not want to eat her cooking?

"What's wrong? Don't you want to?"

"I just want to say something I'm going to say once and so on you should remember. I told you from the beginning that I would protect you. So everything Zeus, Lucas and your stepfather were concerned about, you don't have to think about it anymore. It's all gonna be my business. Don't waste your energy."

"But their target is me, Jack. I can't close my eyes if something happens to you for protecting me." Louisa's eyes began to fog. A single tear escaped down her blushing white cheek.

Jack rubbed Louisa's tears gently. "Why are you so crybaby? Now we better eat first. For this issue we will talk about later. I don't want the steak cold and the meat hard."

Louisa nodded even though her heart was still not satisfied. Jack was too kind to her. He can't if he has to see Jack get hurt.

"What's wrong with your face? Are you afraid something's happening to me?" jack asked, holding his fork and knife back. Louisa nodded. His face was very worried about Jack.

"You don't have to worry. I will not act alone. Now eat."

Jack and Louisa end up eating quietly though occasionally Louisa appears to glance at Jack from the tail of her eyes, but the man does not seem to notice.

After eating, Louisa cleaned the dining table. However, Jack's hand hurriedly prevented him.

"Why?" louisa asked with her eyebrows linked.

"Rest, let me clean it up."

"But-"

"According, Loui. I like the little girl." Jack blinked one eye and smiled faintly. Louisa's face immediately flushed. His heart began to work irregularly.

Louisa finally relented and went into the room. He held his chest that was pounding.

"Do I need to go to the hospital to check my heart? Why am I so easy to beat now?" murmured Louisa.

Louisa's face looks scared and worried for Jack. He hoped the man would be okay. However, to come out and see what happened, Louisa was really really scared.

Outside Louisa's room, Jack curses loudly when suddenly her floor cleaning machine explodes quite violently and surprises her. Looks like something is short of that device.

Jack immediately opened the door to Louisa's room, she was worried that the girl was frightened because the sound of the explosion was loud enough.It was lucky that it did not emit smoke so it did not cause a commotion in the apartment building.

Jack approached Louisa. "Loui, why are you hiding?"

"J_jack ... i_what was that?" louisa asked in a trembling tone. There was an anxious look on his paled face. The girl only opened her blanket slightly until only her head and face were visible.

"The floor cleaning machine exploded. I think maybe the engine is short" Jack said, smiling. Louisa. He was really scared.

"Floor cleaning machine?"

"Yes, that little machine that's been circling all day."

"Oh-." Celine was at a loss for words. He doesn't know whether to be sad or happy to hear Jack's explanation.

"Should I sleep?"

"N_no, Jack. Sleep alone in your room."

"Unfortunately I don't accept rejection, Loui."

Jack immediately took off his shirt and laid his body beside Louisa. Louisa could only resign as the man's burly hands coiled around her stomach.
