Today is the day the Saint James Festival comes. One of the most anticipated important days of the mid-year in Santiago.
It's been almost ten in the evening, and there's hardly any empty space still available along Santiago's streets. Everything is chaotic, enlivening the festival that is now being held massively.
The sound of the trumpet from that moment roared, accompanied by the sound of laughter of children running around, also boisterous from the mixed chatter of people on the sidewalk.
"Want to?"
Being too noisy, Jea leaned slightly closer to Jeffrey who had just asked him, "What is Jeffrey?"
Having the same question again, Jeffrey moved his lips closer to the cold earlobe of Jea, "This ear, you want?"
Then Jea glanced at the item Jeffrey was touching, a pair of sparkling gold earrings with a single jewel of medium size.
"May," Jea smiled as Jeffrey handed over a piece of money to the old man who traded things on a long table.
"Don't move."
Amidst the enslaving density, the two of them looked like they had their own world. Jea was silent, intending to follow Jeffrey's words just now when the man was putting the new earrings on Jea's ear.
"Anything looks great on you, babe," Jeffrey immediately dipped Jea's cheek briefly, making the girl slightly turn and glanced around, embarrassed to find several pairs of eyes accidentally caught the two.
"J-Jeffrey!"
Then the man laughed, followed by Jea's movements that hit Jeffrey's shoulders slowly vibrating slightly.
They spent two hours on the streets of Santiago together. Enjoy an unbeatable panorama of the night.
Jeffrey again grabbed the girl's hand, clenched his fist with Jea to get into the pocket of his coat when he could feel that Jea's fingers were a little cooler than before.
They walked hand in hand, tracing on the edge of a crowded street. The streets of Santiago are like an impromptu market. Sales stands are everywhere. Clown dolls move here and there, accompanying children who do play together.
Jeffrey and Jea briefly stopped to see a classical musical instrument game show on the sidewalk. They also took the time to dance with others when the trumpet also roared harmonica, making the residents of Santiago crowded dance with his partner in the middle of the streets.
"Come," Jeffrey slowly pulled out Jea's hand, going somewhere to avoid the growing noise.
Jea did not ask, only walking in a turn in a hallway squeezed by two old buildings, getting away from the crowd.
The situation is increasingly quiet along with the clattering of their feet that begin to sound more noisy than anything.
Jea began to frown as Jeffrey led her to walk among the slightly tickling bushes. No lighting, nor people.
"Jeff—" Suddenly the girl stopped. Didn't intend to continue when his feet stopped what Jeffrey was doing.
The dimly lit Jea could see the man glancing back, smiling at him in unison with gusts of wind that felt increasingly cold.
"Wear it," Jeffrey took off his coat, then draped it over Jea's shoulder who was already wearing a coat as well. Leave a black shirt thin enough to touch the athletic body.
"But, Jeffrey?"
"I'm fine, so take that."
Then according to what was said, Jea nodded and put on the coat. So that his body looks more bloated because it uses two thick coats at once.
Jeffrey again walked a few steps, standing on the edge of the vast lake. He smiled again.
"I want to be with you."
Jeffrey's words just got Jea warm. Even her cheeks were slightly pink. Jea followed Jeffrey and stood beside him.
The man held Jea's hand again. He then stepped his feet to enter a canoe next to the lake. Slowly Jeffrey helped Jea to get into the canoe until the girl could also land her body on the wooden sampan.
The pair of eyes of the woman kept wide open as she realized that being in the middle of the lake when night came felt so great.
"You—"
Sontak Jea looked at Jeffrey who sounded like to talk something when he had stopped paddling. Long enough the girl had to keep quiet, curious because there was no furtherance from the master.
"You must be more comfortable with Jaehyun, right?"
Jeffrey looked at Jea in silence. Trying to find the gap he really expected from the eyeballs that also glanced at him. Jea never answered, making Jeffrey again had to condemn himself why he had to realize himself with that fact.
"Mr Jaehyun? Yes, Jea was comfortable with Mr. Jaehyun, "throwing Jea who immediately incised a thin smile on Jeffrey's face. Of course, Jeffrey should have known that no one would consider him more than a piece of trash.
Just like how his father saw himself.
"But Jeffrey... Jeffrey means more."
At first Jeffrey slightly lowered his head down, no longer wanting to see the beautiful figure before him.
"What?"
The man looked up again, looking at the woman he was so passionate about with all his heart. Again trying to find the implied meaning of the net, "What?" Deuteronomy again, still want to be slapped more than once with the sentence collapse earlier.
Shy Jea slightly looked around, not wanting to return Jeffrey's gaze which was like trying to strip him, "Um, Jea prefers Jeffrey."
I don't know what could have made Jeffrey this happy all his life. In the first time, Jeffrey smiled so widely.
Jea smiled as she found out who was behind Jeffrey's smile.
At a glance, a barrage of astonished sentences filled his head. How could the man ask the obvious?
Jea used to hate the night.
The night is always dark, and scary.
But the night always brings the two together.
So, how could Jea possibly hate the night even more deeply?
"responsibility."
A pair of Jea's eyebrows furrowed not understanding, "I mean?"
There's still no answer. Both Jeffrey and Jea fluttered in place. The breeze felt increasingly cold, the trees that were around the lake also began to sway with each other.
The water was so calm as if it was bringing them into the center of a parallel world. Enough of the two, nothing else. Like the whole lake just Jeffrey and Jea.
"This is because of you, responsibility," said Jeffrey, along with the gesture of his hand that grabbed the woman's hand to touch her chest.
Heart failure, Jea knew clearly. It's so messy that it's transmitted through the hands, or maybe through the eyes?
Their leaflets are crazy, in rhythm with the hair of the two who began to flutter carried by the wind.
"I love it when I can touch and kiss you everytime, from now on."
The sampan slightly swayed out of balance as the man grabbed his girl's hand to get closer. Until Jea sat right on Jeffrey's lap wide and warm.
Jeffrey's hand touched Jea's nape, and kissed her lips so quietly and unhurriedly. Very different than usual.
On the sidelines, Jea began to put her hands on Jeffrey's neck, feeling that the thing she needed most right now, was also in dire need of her.
