"Disappearing food, huh?"
Quickly Jea turned her empty gaze at the man, "T-no Sir.." Jea shook her head later.
Jaehyun did not reply, he just continued to eat a cold green apple in his hand. The black netra stared repeatedly at the silver watch in Jaehyun's left hand, and he accelerated.
Regarding last night, Jea still did not think out. How could he be reunited with a man that Jea might be desperate to avoid? I don't know, Jeffrey does look like he saved her, but it's still scary isn't it?
Time and again Jea had cursed herself as she let loosely hugged Jeffrey so tightly as the thunder shocked her. Even Jea was completely unable to wrinkle in front of Jeffrey who was fumbling on the surface of his skin. Even those wet lips kiss Jea's lips! It doesn't make sense.
But the thing that makes Jea more curious is, where did Jeffrey say hello in the morning? On that raining night, Jea had unknowingly fallen asleep in Jeffrey's arms. But when she opened her eyes, no more hands supported her possessive body. Gone, just like that. Like nothing happened before.
Jea was a little surprised when she heard a heavy sigh from the man on her side. Did Jea again make a mistake?
"Sorry."
Pardon you? Meanin? Jea began to think hard about the words that had just come out of Jaehyun's mouth. What was that saying to him? Because Jaehyun said that while looking clearly at his pair of eyes.
"I mean Sir?"
Jaehyun initially kept silent. Not saying anything. Although his gaze was still directed at Jea who looked confused. Is this woman that big?
"I'm sorry about Jeffrey's treatment of you."
Again, the Master is talking about Jeffrey. It was as if Jaehyun and Jeffrey were all very familiar sidekicks. Why should Jaehyun apologize for Jeffrey's behavior? Jea was even dizzy thinking about all kinds of estimates arranged in his brain.
"Jeffrey it's me. I was Jeffrey. Up here you understand?" Jaehyun said again, this time a little more serious than the previous one.
Jea was still confused about the sentence she had to throw in response. Seeing Jea's expression that had not changed much from the previous one, made Jaehyun take the initiative a little to expose it further.
"I have a disease that is, quite rare. In the case of this disease, I have two personalities. Me and Jeffrey. We share one body but we remain different. The reason I told you to go straight into the room before eight o'clock because that's when Jeffrey showed up. By day, I will be the Jaehyun everyone knows, and by night... Jeffrey. My body belongs to Jeffrey."
The girl seemed to think for a while, then she blinked her eyes many times, "So... Mr Jaehyun and Mr Jeffrey are the same?"
Jaehyun only cleared a glance in response, making Jea just nod, either understand it or not. But one thing is certain, Jea understands very well that Jaehyun and Jeffrey are the same person, even though they are different. Ah. It's really hard to pin down.
"Other times, try not to deal with Jeffrey. Danger," Jaehyun again stopped his activities and looked back at the woman who looked dazed. What could have made Jea that big?
"Okay Sir," Jea nodded, trying to look understanding, so that at least Jaehyun would no longer constantly look at her.
Jaehyun then stood up as the rotary phone rang on the carved wooden table. Jea directed her gaze at the master who was talking to someone over there. Many times his brown netra collided with Jaehyun's, making Jea start to wonder.
"I'll be there soon."
The connection is closed. Initially, Jaehyun was unmoved, like he was thinking about something. Then he walked up to take his dark green coat, "Let's come with me."
"I mean Sir..?" Jea furrowed her brows not understanding.
"I was called to Michigan because there was an important case there. Can't I leave you here alone?" Jaehyun threw a question back which then resulted in Jea pensive. Ah. so it seems.
Jaehyun took out another cream-colored coat with a size that looked smaller than the one used by the man. Then Jea again confused by Jaehyun's treatment of him, why did this master thrust his coat on him?
With a slow movement, Jea grabbed the coat. Looks like Jea did have a lot to learn about the behavior of Jaehyun and Jeffrey is very unusual, "Thank you very much Sir.."
The man nodded at a glance then passed, took the keys of the mustang car and grabbed his police cap. Jaehyun walked towards the door before he finally turned his head, "Come on."
Jea slightly ran small for the sake of following the steps of Jaehyun who was several meters away in front. Her eyes narrowed slightly as the sunlight seeped into the netra of her eyes, it seemed like the girl was indeed not used to the sunlight.
The black mustang drove rapidly in the middle of the empty streets. Jea stared at some pedestrians standing on the side of the road holding cardboard with inscribed writing there. Two of them waved at him, making Jea smile clumsily.
During the trip, no special conversation took place. Jaehyun who was focused on driving, also Jea who was busy looking out the window and was surprised many times. To the point of making Jaehyun feel strange, what exactly was Jea surprised by? From earlier they just passed through minimalist buildings with faded paint, as well as some pedestrians.
The journey to Michigan takes about five hours by car. They just passed the first two hours. Occasionally, Jaehyun glanced at Jea who was still excitedly staring out the window.
"In a moment," Jea turned her gaze to Jaehyun as the man suddenly broke the silence between them.
The car ran towards a refueling engine and stopped, leaving Jea confused as to why it had stopped.
Jaehyun got out of his car, started to put two pieces of money in and clicked a button on the machine. When he finished, Jaehyun got back into the car.
"That's what, sir??" Ask Jea curiously.
"Fuel filling machine."
Jea just nodded even though he still did not understand. But shortly after, Jaehyun's face looked very serious. The tail of his eyes now leads to a fairly shady tree on the edge of the road.
"Count three, you get out of the car, and run to the back of the rubble of the building in front."
Again the girl had to frown not understanding, "I mean—"
"Quick."
Jea no longer asked. He decided to carry out the man's instructions because there seemed to be something problematic.
"One."
"Two."
Jaehyun glanced at Jea at a glance, "Three."
Jea got out of the car and ran as fast as he could. Three seconds before Jea could take shelter behind the rubble of a small building, an explosion ripped his ears open.
The girl's eyes closed strongly as her ears felt pained. Explosions within such a close radius were indeed quite dangerous for hearing. Jea, who had successfully taken shelter behind the rubble, turned to look at Jaehyun.
The net was rounded when he found the black mustang car had been engulfed in fire, even the area around the fueling machine had also exploded. Jea quickly looked left and right, and he even swept his gaze across the entire street. There aren't. Jaehyun's missing.
What about Jaehyun?
Didn't his master get out of the car?
Oh no, Jea suddenly drowned.
