"Real Estate Division, how is the progress of land acquisition that we discussed last week?!" Ann stared intently at Hazel, the Head of the Real Estate Division who took office just three months ago.
Hazel gasped, she grabbed the tablet that had been lying next to her.
"We still have a little problem with some residents who still refuse to relocate and sell their assets, Miss!"
Ann frowning. "And from a week ago there hasn't been any progress?!"
"Sorry, Miss. We'll try to make it work this week." Hazel looked down with concern.
"What is your guarantee?!" ask Ann to make sure.
He doesn't want to waste time on the uncertain. If incompetent, Ann is not reluctant to change Hazel's position.
"I'll try hard, Miss! I promise!" Hazel dared to look at her boss.
Ann looked at the gaze with her instincts, and earnestness emanated from two sharp eyeballs of Hazel's leading to Ann.
"alright. Call me as soon as possible or next week your position will be replaced by a more competent person!" ann's breaking up meant it.
Hazel nodded quickly.
Ann turns to watch over Rafli, Head of Commercial Division. He is a very disciplined person and can always deal with problems quickly and appropriately.
"Is there anything to discuss, Rafli?" ask Ann.
Rafli grabbed his tablet and opened one of the reports from his men.
"Look, Miss. We have a little problem of miscommunication with the workers in the field. What if we need to replace them and find new workers with these few remaining deadlines?"
"How many months?"
"Two months."
"Did your miscommunication not find a middle ground?"
"They're asking for a raise, Miss. We have implemented a wholesale system."
"So they want to break the contract?"
Rafli nodded quickly.
Ann thought for a moment, she took a breath and exhaled slowly.
"Continue working with them. Ask for compensation if they insist on asking for a wage increase. Instead, give them a bonus if they get the job done on time!"
Rafli smiled, he nodded quickly. "Good, Miss. I will do it!"
Ann's gaze turned to Hazel. "What made those people not want to sell their land, Haz?"
"Some refuse because the land is a heritage land, Miss. And they do not want to leave the place where they were raised" Hazel said.
Ann smiled wryly. Such an ancient principle was what made it difficult for people to advance! Not to escape the comfort zone.
"Do they refuse even if we double the price?" ask Ann curiously.
"I haven't tried it, Miss. But today me and the team will go back there and negotiate again. Hope they want to!"
Ann nodded firmly. He looked at Jessy sitting next to him.
"Do I have another meeting after this, Jes?"
"No, Miss. This is your last schedule today."
Ann glanced at the circular watch on her left wrist. It's 11 noon.
"alright. We'll discuss the progress of the meeting tomorrow. I give you two days to solve this problem."
"Good, Miss!" sahut Hazel and Rafli.
Ann stood up from her chair and stepped wide out of the meeting room. The Real Estate Division and Commercial Division were under her auspices, so Ann routinely checked their work. While the other two divisions are under the auspices of the Commissioner who is still the right hand of his Papa.
The connecting tone was heard for a while and then disconnected because Daren did not pick up the phone. Ann breathed her tired breath. Looks like Daren is furious.
Ann began typing messages for her lover while still stepping towards the elevator to get down to the basement.
[Thank you for my phone or I'll spread rumors of our closeness!]
Ann smiled happily as the message was sent. He put his phone back in the bag when his footsteps arrived at the elevator. Some of the staff who were about to step back regularly when they saw Ann were already in the elevator. They respect Ann. The elevator door closed slowly.
Jinggg....
Ann smiled happily. He pulled his phone back in the bag.
Love is calling ...
"Hello" said Ann, holding back a laugh. His threat to Daren has always worked this way.
"Hello, what's wrong?"
"Where are you? Can we go out for lunch at Jacob's?"
"I'm still busy!"
"Busy but still able to nelefon, huh?" goda Ann chuckles.
Doesn't sound like a word from Daren.
"Beb, I'm sorry. Excuse me. Don't be mad, dong!" pinta Ann pleads."Baby?"
"Yes already. Get me to the apartment!"
Ann smiled with relief. "Okay, thirty more minutes I'm here!"
And an hour later. Ann and Daren are sitting together at Jacob's Cafe. Daren's face has been flat ever since Ann picked her up. Even when driving Ann's car, the man was more silent not responding to Ann's chat.
After ordering the lunch menu, Ann noticed Daren's still tense face. He grabbed her hand gently and held it tightly.
Daren looks at Ann at a glance, then turns again to hide his anger at the girl.
"Sorry, Daren. I really didn't expect that night that he would propose to me and there was a media there!" ann said sadly.
"But you seem to be enjoying the moment a lot. Your smile and gaze are sincere in those photos!"
Ann exhaled his breath riled, is it visible from the look of his face if last night he had been carried away by feelings?
"But I only love you. There's nothing else!" sela Ann insisted. "Oh, yeah. And one more thing, I've made a deal with him. We've signed the contract marriage agreement!"
Daren gasped, he spontaneously turned to Ann who immediately smiled broadly at him.
"Yes. Me and Kian have signed a covenant!" Ann pulled her bag closer, took out her small tablet and opened the document. He then handed a file to Daren.
Daren receives the tablet and reads a file detailing Ann and Kian's contract marriage agreement.
"See. I'll still be yours, Daren. He won't be able to touch me at all!"
"Are you sure?" ask Daren doubtfully.
"Whatchu mean? You doubt my three-year-old love sacrificed so much for you?!" Ann asked in surprise.
"It's not. Staying together on one roof and meeting each day, are you sure you won't like him slowly?"
Ann shook her head quickly. Kian is not his dream man, there are no criteria that enter him!
"We are both busy. There's no way I'll be interacting with him a lot later!" said Ann sure.
Daren exhaled slowly. "All right, we'll see."
