(NON) PRETEND HUSBAND
When it's Time to Separate

"Is it far away?" Ann turned to Kian who was focusing on driving.

"Therefore, soon," said Kian without turning his head.

Ann exhaled a long breath. "It turns out far away is also your home," hissed Ann iba.

Smiling wryly, the distance of his home and office was indeed quite far. When I was living in that house, it took me an hour to get to his office. But after Grandma Sofia died, Kian sold everything and moved to a rented house closer to the office. But in reality, it still took him half an hour to arrive on time.

"You don't have a picture of Grandma Sofia?"

"Have."

"Can I see?" Ann changed her seat and watched over Kian enthusiastically.

"Make what?" ask Kian wonder. Ann has never been this curious about her life story.

"Yaaa, let me get along better with Grandma Sofia!" ann was clearly adamant.

Without taking a look, Kian reached into the phone in his shirt pocket. He unlocked and opened the gallery and then looked for photos of Grandma Sofia that he stored in a special folder.

"Now!" Kian puts his cell phone on Ann.

"Seneng ya if you have Grandma," said Ann, still sliding photos of Grandma Sofia on the screen of Kian's phone.

"More fun if you have parents!" cetus Kian glanced at Ann who was suddenly sad.

"Yes, anyway. But I feel life without a female role model is difficult. Since childhood I can only model the behavior of papa, and do not have a mother figure that can be imitated," explained Ann.

More disturbing, Jonathan had once told a story about his past with his biological mother Ann. And now the memory is back.

"I've asked a few questions about my mom, but I just said she's dead without ever telling me where the grave is." Ann glared and stared straight at the street ahead. "None of the clues can tell me where my mom is. Until then when papa was sentenced to be sick a few years ago, since then I stopped looking for the whereabouts of mama. I understood why they had never been together, and I realized I didn't need a mother in my life."

"You know Ann, don't ever feel like your life has gone to waste just because you don't know your mom. Love those around you right now, because you never know when you will part with them" said Kian. "Your father is the kindest and most sincere man I have ever known. Do not let you regret for not being devoted to him," he later said.

Ann throbbed, without feeling the corner of her eyes began to get wet. "That's why even though I didn't agree with our matchmaking, in the end I gave up. I just want to see my dad happy, that's all," Ann said as she wiped away the tears that were dripping slowly.

He breathed a heavy sigh. "Don't cry. You must be strong. You did the right thing!" kian said encouragingly.

"You know, this is the first time I've ever talked to someone about my mama. I hope that when we part, you will still be my best friend, Kian!" pinta Ann looked at the man driving beside her sadly.
