In front of the house building not far from the Daren Agency office, Ann had been waiting for her lover since an hour ago. His stomach began to rumble, all day he only ate bread at breakfast this morning.
Ann's gloomy gaze slowly began to sparkle from a distance when she saw the figure of Daren coming out of the Agency office. As usual, Daren will get out of there by sneaking around and Ann will catch up with him quietly. As soon as Ann's car approached, Daren rushed in.
"Whoops!" his sigh was relieved as soon as he sat in Ann's car.
"I'm a really laper, Beb. Let's eat first, shall we?!"
"Yeah, I ate in the dalem, Beb. Mr. Jeremi's birthday and bring rice tumpeng to eat together!"
Ann exhaled disappointed, even though she had bought Daren's favorite food.
"I forgot you brought me stock, I'm sorry!" regret Daren while pulling Ann's hand and grasping it tightly.
"Yes already, lah. I'll eat at home."
"Well, he said you were a laper? Eat first, deh. Here I am the steering wheel!" daren's orders.
Ann said she pulled over her sedan and changed positions. When Daren started driving, Ann pulled a paper bag in the back seat. He took out a box of rice fields that he had packed for him and Daren.
"Well, rice paddies, huh?" daren asked, glancing at the box in Ann's lap.
"Yes," said Ann briefly, opening the paper wrapping the plastic spoon and starting to devour it slowly.
"A month in the future I will be busy with road shows to several cities, Beb. My new movie is a huge success on the market and PH has promised to keep the bonus!" bright fiery Daren.
Ann swallowed the hard-earned rice she chewed though she had no taste. Hearing Daren's story made him lose his appetite even more.
"You know, I'll use the bonus for our trip to Korea! Do you want to go to Jeju Island?!" Daren looked at Ann at a glance.
Ann exhaled her sorrowful breath, she threw her gaze out the window. His eyes began to heat up, he put the spoon that had only been held tightly and closed the lunchbox.
"Well, how come it's not finished?" daren asked in wonder when Ann put the box again into the paperbag and sipped mineral water to the toilet.
Ann set her breath up and down holding back the sad and the tears.
"Next month I'm getting married, Beb," said Ann.
"Huh? Don't joke around, Beb!"
Ann stared at Daren quickly, hoping that the glare of her eyes revealed everything.
Daren could only be stunned by that sharp look. He sighed and breathed his breath. Soon he pulled Ann's car over in a quiet place.
"Beb, don't be kidding!" daren's birthday is still in shock.
Ann's tears dripped, she threw her face back but Daren pulled her body and hugged her tightly.
"Beb, don't stay with me."
"Marry me, Daren!" whimper Ann pilu.
"I will, Beb. I'm gonna marry you. Not anytime soon!" daren was frustrated.
"Papa doesn't care about any of that. I'll pay all the penalties if you breach your contract. I beg you, Daren. I don't want to marry anyone but you!"
Daren further tightened his embrace and exhaled his frenzied breath.
"It's not that easy, baby. Social sanctions will be harder for me if we get married this soon."
"I knew. But are you willing to see me marry another man?"
"No! You're forever mine, Beb!"
Ann wiped her tears and broke Daren's embrace. He stared hard at his lover.
"Then from that, let's get married! Am I not more important than your popularity, huh?!"
"Lad! Why are you being so selfish like this, anyway?!"
"You're selfish, Daren! Three years we've been through all this quietly just because you're afraid your female fans are leaving you, but you don't care about my feelings that are always numbered. You are selfish!!" beat Ann with tears.
Daren did not reply, he looked at Ann with an inexplicable look. His heart immediately hurt.
"You think I'm selfish, first go to yourself! Who is more selfish than this relationship!" cecar Ann could not resist the heartache with Daren's words earlier.
"Then what do you want, Beb?" ask Daren sadly. "I can't marry you in that fast time. I'm sorry."
"You...!" Ann's tears were dripping more and more. He threw away his face and let the tear drop after tear shed the pain in his heart.
"I'm sorry, Beb."
"alright. This will be the last time we meet."
"Beb—"
"Come, Daren. I'm going home!"
"Lad!"
"Get out."
Daren breathed his breath sadly. He put his hat back on and opened Ann's car door with a wounded mind. He really doesn't want to lose Ann, but losing her popularity isn't a viable option either. Daren gets out of Ann's car and lets her lover leave her on the edge of a lonely road.
Meanwhile, in a speeding car, Ann again shed her tears. Three years with Daren feels wasted after the man prefers his sparkling world over living alone with Ann. How ironic.
