The Devil's Settlement (Part V)

"So that's the same church when I found some of those weird bodies?" I asked when Tsukuyomi told me about her experience of being the Slave of Kenji.

"Yes, that's it. I went to church twice. First with Kenji both are with you." Answer Tsukuyomi.

From the beginning I was woken up by Kenji, I was so confused. How could there be such creatures as zombies, cannibals, curse beasts, and other monsters? Even until they are categorized by the order of bridge cards. For now categories 2-3 are held by zombies and cannibals. For the Curse Beast itself I know less about it. For the artificial Olympians it could be into the category 10 or even Jack and above. I've only gotten a little information from the books that Mr. Frank had while I was living with him.

This is even far from confusing. It was as if history had just been fiddled with and changed by someone. There's no way the world I've built is destroyed until only such monsters remain? What happened during my sleep for 200 years after I built the Wheat for the survival and peace of mankind? What have I been fighting for all this time?

Judging from its destruction, the buildings used at that time were like they had been abandoned for a long time. All that remains of mankind is in the wheat. It also feels quite strange as well because Wheat has advanced military technology. Such cannibals should have been bombed by bardirs until they were all destroyed. But why doesn't anyone think about it?

"Something's wrong with everything I've seen since I woke up." I said holding my head and lying on the bed.

"Something has changed and reorganized history over the last 200 years." Mumbles.

"Tell me a little more, Tsukuyomi. I wonder what the two of you got as long as Kenji and I were apart for those 3 months." My love to Tsukuyomi.

Tsukuyomi continued her story.

Kenji then tries to shoot the base of the tentacles but can always be fended off with the tentacles responding when there is some sort of threatening projectile attack.

This time the tip of each of these cannibal tentacles was shaped like an axe blade and a sickle. Each tentacle attacked in turn. Kenji jumped up and used the church worshipers' seats and the foundation posts of the church building as a shelter. Because none of his cannibal attacks turned his hands into those disgusting and deadly tentacles.

While hiding, Kenji refills his revolver. The reason why Kenji does not use flash bangs and grenades is to save and it becomes the last option in the fight. Resources should not be wasted. But Kenji's revolver bullet is running out soon, too.

"The bullet is running out soon. Shit." Said Kenji who realized his bullet was running out when he reached into the bullet bag on his waist.

Kenji then notices the cannibal priest. Kenji realized something that could be the key to his victory. When this cannibal attacked, his tentacle speed was slower than when he fended off the projectile.

"Hmm.. so that's it." Mumbled Kenji.

Kenji sheathed his revolver back and then ran around the church. Each tentacle of the cannibal attempted to attack him but due to the slower pace Kenji managed to avoid it.

Kenji arrived at the pulpit and altar of the church. Kenji then jumped from the top of the altar towards the cannibal. Attack after attack was launched by the cannibal but Kenji was able to avoid it even though it was still in the air. Just when Kenji's jump is over the cannibal, Kenji activates Double Acceleration so that everything becomes slow for Kenji and throws the ejection knife a very close distance away. It is only 20 cm away. That's an impossible distance to move because it's too close.

The knife plunged into the cannibals and the head of the giant jerked cannibal exploded and spurted a lot of blood and pieces of flesh from the neck onto it.

The cannibal fell and died.

"One hit..one kill." Mumbled Kenji.

"Not bad, son." Said Hazard.

"Your job is just saying it's the same ride on my body with no contribution. At least help me a little." Kenji protested.

"Kenji! You okay?" Tsukuyomi asked worried about her Ousama. Kenji forgets that Tsukuyomi is still outside the church.

Kenji opened the door of the church by pulling the key.

"It's open." Kenji opened the door.

"You've always had a plan that was bar-bar huh... " Tsukuyomi said with a frown. Kenji then closes it back up and locks it. Who knew their fight caused some commotion and could have made the demons come to them.

"Bar-bar doesn't matter as long as the plan works. Time to plunder, come on." Reply Kenji.

Tsukuyomi and Kenji start looking for items that could be useful for their trip later. Every closet and drawer they opened was nothing but one place. Altar drawer.

Kenji pulled the altar drawer and found a kind of emblem made from a mixture of chrome vanadium metal. The emblem is like a symbol of the same cult as the necklace Kenji picked up from one of the cannibals yesterday.

"Emblem?" Tsukuyomi muttered in surprise.

"Whatever this is. It must be worth it." Kenji. But Tsukuyomi finds something else in the drawer then picks it up. A paper that is already dull. Tsukuyomi also had a chance to see the contents.

"Maybe this could be a clue to the usefulness of the emblem." Tsukuyomi gives the paper to Kenji.

Kenji accepts it and looks on with a look and tries to figure out what the paper means. It only took about 10 seconds for Kenji to understand the contents of the paper. They are required to find 2 more emblems to be able to use them. One of the clues is the door that leads down.

Kenji then opens the dull red carpet beneath them and finds the door to the basement. Kenji tries to open the door and turns out to be unlocked.

"Come on." Kenji went down and entered the door, followed by Tsukuyomi. They walked down the dark passage for 3 minutes and finally found a light at the end of the hall.

They came out of the underground passage and they both saw a giant stone gate in front of them, their left a lake, and their right side a path to the forest.

Kenji also checked the water content in the lake. And after checking it out and sure it's not contaminated any way Kenji immediately fills the bottle he made.

Kenji drank it and filled the bottle.

"Woi." Call Kenji to Tsukuyomi. Tsukuyomi who turned her head also reflexively caught the water bottle that Kenji threw.

"drink. You and that woman's body will be dehydrated later." Kenji. Tsukuyomi obeyed Kenji and drank the water.

Tsukuyomi gives the bottle back to Kenji.

"thank you. You're a person of interest." Tsukuyomi said in amazement. Behind Kenji's cold and psychopathic nature, it turns out Kenji can still be as attentive as that.

Kenji just nodded to answer her. Kenji who had finished filling his water bottle began to continue his journey.

"Let's check that stone gate first." Kenji.
