Setting the Refrigerator
After shopping from the mini market to buy instant noodles, eggs, snacks, packaged drinks, and fruit. Daniel and Selena return to her apartment with 3 plastic groceries with happiness. Since their fridge will no longer be empty, there will be new residents in that fridge.
Selena wanted to help Daniel carry plastic groceries, Daniel did not allow it because he felt strong to carry all the plastic itself. However, because of the pompous and unpleasant taste, Daniel gave 1 of the lightest plastic to Selena.
"You can carry this, Cell. Now smile don't pout." Daniel handed her one lightweight plastic, she extended her hand to Selena to receive the plastic bag.
"Yes, I brought it. But why do you give plastic with the lightest contents?" Selena asked with her hand that had been toting the plastic groceries.
"It is not impolite to let a girl carry heavy plastic, while men only carry themselves or carry the lightest. I'm not a guy like Selena." Daniel smiled as he moved his finger a sign he was not a selfish man.
A man is a protector for women, in the matter of shopping, usually men will bring groceries, right? And, usually women will be happy if a man helps her, because it is a form that the man is attentive.
The two laughed together until entering Daniel's unit on the 13th floor.
"You can rest Daniel, let me keep it in that fridge."
Selena asks Daniel for a break, he doesn't want to be like a person who doesn't know himself, lives together but does nothing. Therefore, Selena took the initiative to arrange the groceries in the refrigerator.
"OKAY. I'm gonna sit here, so I can watch you put it all together. So I can all learn, right?" Daniel sat at the dinner table not far from the fridge.
"You've never set up a fridge, either?"
Again and again, Selena asked Daniel such a question. He was increasingly curious about how Daniel lived abroad, whether his people did not teach various skills to live life. Or he was from a wealthy family who every day served by his ministry. Or, the possibility that the last Daniel did not come from this planet, could he be from Mars?
"Hmm, I've never done it at all." Daniel lightly.
"Okay, listen to me carefully and watch all this Daniel. Because I won't repeat it again." Selena said with a smile on her face.
"Arrange the contents of the refrigerator is important, so that the refrigerator is neat, but the food we store can be durable. First, take out all the contents of the refrigerator. Well, since this freezer is empty there is no contents, so there is nothing to remove, we can fill it directly. Second, separate the food. We first separate the food based on the type, what is the snack, vegetables, fruit, or whatever it is. Separating these foods is important, do not mix smelly and odorless food, so that the food is not contaminated. Then, separate the refrigerator shelves. Do not put all the items on one shelf, but separate them. Lastly, often check the expiration date found in each packaging of food and drinks, lest we eat food that has been stale or expired, because we can get sick. How's Daniel, you understand? If not, I can repeat it slowly."
Selena's explanation is long and detailed, because at home she is accustomed to the kitchen. Selena is also the one who always organize and tidy up the refrigerator, even household work done by Selena since her mother left the house. The girl is the one who takes over the housework while she is in school or working.
"Hmm, yeah.... But why is the top part empty Selena? Is there nothing to keep there?" Daniel asked as his finger pointed at the part of the fridge that was still empty.
"Oh, here. It's called a freezer. In this freezer we can also store meat, fish, or frozen food. We can also make ice cubes from here. You want ice cubes? I can teach you how to make it."
"In this cupboard there is an ice mold right, we just fill it with water, then put it in this freezer. Just wait all night, tomorrow the ice cubes are done." Selena explained by taking an ice mold and filling it with water, then putting it in the freezer.
"Well, you're great that Selena. Many things you know, while I know nothing. You can even clean the fridge."
Daniel seriously praised Selena, the girl knew a lot of things she didn't know. Moreover, the activities here are diverse, while his experience in the flower garden of Edenweis is only limited to caring for plants every day. If the flower plants, fertilizer, grass clippers, to the animals in the plantation, he mastered all that. But there are a lot of things that he does not know. Daniel said in his heart, that he had to learn to do many things in order to adapt to life in this place, besides his job to keep Selena there will be no obstacles.

Selena clenched her hand to encourage Daniel who was showing a disappointed look.
"I'm curious about you Daniel, why are you so funny that there are so many little things you don't know. Haha...."
"Hmm, funny? I don't think I'm funny 'cause I'm not a kid anymore, Selena."
Hearing a strange answer from Daniel's mouth, Selena laughed until her face was red. It's really weird that this Daniel, even sometimes so strange, he looks funny.
"Hahaha, you're funny Daniel." Laughing Selena while holding her stomach that hurts from laughing out loud. The funny expression of Selena who was laughing finally made Daniel who was originally silent, become a laughing follower. The two laughed together, until their faces became red from laughing.
"Well, lots of people laugh at Selena. Don't cry on. I'm willing to be funny or weird, as long as you can always laugh like this." Daniel said seriously.
The serious speech that Daniel just made actually made Selena immediately speechless and felt something in her heart.
