This afternoon Selena was in her room doing additional tasks given by Dexter. Selena was so enthusiastic about her chores and this meant she did have a chance to get away from Daniel. However, as a good friend, and an apartment friend, Selena kept telling Daniel that she was overtime.

Selena took her phone and sent Daniel a message.

[And tonight I'm working late. So don't pick me up. Be careful at home.]

After the message was sent, Selena thought that at least she had told Daniel, and of course she would be very unpleasant if the man still picked her up as usual. Not long after, a message entered Selena's phone. And that was a message from Daniel.

[Yes Selena, I know. You told me this morning, right? Spirit working. If you want to go home, let me know, I'll pick you up.]

Selena reads a message from Daniel with her forehead wrinkled, for Selena, Daniel is still a good person to her. However, Selena's little heart still feels strange why Daniel rejects her feelings and he asks Selena to wait for the right time. Selena was dumbstruck in her mind, and it seemed to be visible to Dexter.

Dexter, who was sitting in his room, saw Selena daydreaming, and even her secretary was not seen doing her job. Dexter walked out of his room and stood before Selena's desk.

Dexter knocked on Selena's desk.

"Hey, why daydream?"

"Ah, it's okay sir. I'm just going to do a report from the Financial Division."

"Oh, okay. Did you just mind a lot of Selena?"

"Hem, no that sir. Why is it sir?"

"No, since then you have been seen daydreaming. If you want, you can tell me."

"I think we can be friends with Selena too, because I don't have many friends here either." Dexter's words seem convincing.

"We can be professional in the office, and when outside the office we can make friends. Just a friend, nothing more."

Selena thought about how she could be friends with her boss. To be honest, Selena is a difficult girl to be close to others. Not that he's anti-social, is he. The background and experience of life that he lived all this time made him a closed person, he just did not want others to know when he was in a sad condition.

"Sir Dexter, why did you suddenly want to be friends with me?"

"I just want to be friends with Selena. Do we need a reason to be friends with others?"

"Not really, sir."

"That's you know there's no reason to make friends."

Dexter passed away going into her room, leaving Selena with various questions on her mind. However, Dexter's words just now were very strange for Selena. But, he should not drag on in his mind. He slowly knocks on Dexter's door and asks permission to go home first.

"Sir Dexter, what if I let him go home? It's late, tomorrow morning I'll resume my work, sir."

Selena came out of her superior room, she made sure all the files she had worked on were stored, so that tomorrow it was easier to get back to work on it. He made sure to keep one at a time, tidied up various sheets of paper on his desk, turned off his computer, and rushed home.

Selena wants to go home alone on a city bus tonight, she deliberately does not send a message to Daniel. Selena walked up to the elevator to get downstairs and was going straight home.

The atmosphere of the office had been quiet, some rooms had even been dark. For the first time, he came home last night. In the elevator, when he was about to get into it, Dexter suddenly followed him.

"Sir Dexter, are you home too?"

Once again Selena refused Dexter's offer, she just wanted to work quietly without getting involved in the relationship that would be burdensome. Rejecting Dexter is the right choice for Selena at the moment.
