Time seems to be at a standstill for some people who are not ready to accept reality. Some of them experienced mental disorders after the destruction of Aceh at that time.
“Happy..”.
“Happy..”.
A male patient in the hospital's outpatient room started to rummage and then ran out shouting at the words ‘kiamat’. His soul was too fragile to accept reality to the point of disturbing his soul.
Children are the most vulnerable souls to accept the reality of today until the volunteers focus more on them. Unexpectedly, these children are actually stronger than adults. They easily adapt to the circumstances plus the number of friends who share their fate in one tent. Various stationery, storybooks, coloring books were given volunteers to entertain them under the refugee camp.
Every day they will be accompanied by volunteers to play, tell stories to draw. Some of them look different. The children sat hugging their knees and watching their friends play. One of them is Teuku Rendra Muhammad Nur. Yes, the little boy managed to survive because he ran after people.
That fateful morning, he was playing at one of his friends' houses. The lives of children in the village of Lamkot are indeed very pleasant. Every Sunday morning, they would play their age either at home or on a field not far from there. After breakfast, Rendra went straight to his friend's house. Ash was feeding the ducks and chickens in the back enclosure. Only Umi saw him go with his other friends.
“Having eaten, Rendra?” asked Umi as the granddaughter was about to go follow her friends.
“Already, Mother Nek. Brother went to play huh?”
“Iya, don't go far!”
Since he grew up, Abu, Umi and Mae have called him with the call ‘Abang’ as a sign he has grown up. After Rendra left, Cut came out with the child in his carrier while feeding Iskandar as usual. His eyes were still puffy but he did not want to lock himself in the room. Cut chose to play with Iskandar in front while showing the duck and chicken to his parents.
When the child in his car was engrossed in ducks and chickens, he was daydreaming about the husband with all his lies and betrayals. Despite trying hard in front of his parents, he is still fragile and broken. Various memories with Faisal carved beautifully first but now it became a scratch that hurt him very much.
A great shaking from the ground resuscitated him from the prolonged reverie. He wiped his tears and looked around. He sat down while saying tasbih holding the ground.the plate in his hand until it fell to the ground due to a shock that was so frightening. Ash immediately ran outside the cage in a staggering state.
Meanwhile, Umi who had been sitting on the ground continued to call her husband, “Abu, the brother at his friend's house. How's this?”
After the earthquake ended, Abu immediately sought Rendra to his friend's house but Rendra was not there. Abu's neighbor, who is the parent of a friend of Rendra, said that Rendra and his son had been taken by the husband to go fishing in the river. This is not the first time Rendra has been taken by his neighbors. During this time, Rendra was always invited if they left because their son and Rendra were good friends.
Coupled with Rendra's status as an orphan in the Lamkot camp. Many people love him very much. Not infrequently, when playing Rendra often gets pocket money or snacks given by residents who see it. Abu is still not calm thinking about Rendra to take the initiative to go to the river where ordinary people fish.
“Abu pick up Rendra first, stay out of nowhere until Abu gets home. Assalamualaikum.”
Abu said hello and pedaled a bicycle to the river not far from their home.after Abu who had just a few minutes, the cries of residents were finally heard by Umi and Cut who were still outside the house. The screams continued to be heard in every mouth of the people who ran like they were being chased by a dog.
“Air sea ride...”
“Air sea ride...”
Umi and Cut came out of the yard and saw many people scattered on the road and more surprising is a large ship like chasing the people who ran it. Finally, the waves of black and hot sea water that turned out to be called Tsunami hit them with everything in front of them.
The waves managed to separate the mother and child in a sling. The cry of asking for help seemed to be in vain because everything was in the same condition. Only the miracle of God could save them, as happened to Iskandar.
The baby who was released in his mother's arms experienced something that was hard to believe. He was carried by an old grandmother who suffered the slightest injury. No one can tell the strange events but that is the way God cannot be reached by human reason.
No one knows who or where my grandmother came from. Mae herself who was upset at that time because she thought about Abu and her family also did not take the figure seriously. He just wanted to help calm a crying baby. Mae herself did not expect if the baby in her arms was the little Iskandar.
“Why don't you play?” ask a little girl Rendra's age. He survived with his mother. Her father and two brothers have not been found.
Rendra just looked at his peers while shaking his head. His mind continued to ring about the fateful events of that day. In front of his eyes, he saw Abu being carried away by water, the father of his friend was also carried away by water. And what was more painful was that he could not help his friend when both of them were carried away by the water. He survived after being pulled by a man from a second-floor store while his friend was not helped.
The days were heavy for those who felt firsthand what happened when the earthquake and tsunami hit Aceh on Sunday morning. The following days also still feel heavy for those who are still alive because the memory in the human brain is too difficult to remove. For those who can not afford it, then the mental hospital will be the next place but for those who sangup will certainly be a very valuable learning.
Likewise with the conflict that has occurred for many years in Aceh. In the end, though, Allah as the creator gave a lesson for them and this time what Allah gave managed to make them lower their ego with the end of the armed war in Aceh after many years did not manage to find a match.
A miracle behind the sadness that should be very grateful by all citizens but it feels like it is too late. Why wait for the wrath of the creator they once realized?
Peace that was once impossible to happen but with the will of Allah SWT. Finally, peace was realized. Although in some places there is still an occasional eruption of firearms until finally they reached a peace agreement signed by the officials of both sides abroad.
Again the eyes of the world back to Aceh where with all its strength, Aceh still remains like the Dutch era that is difficult to colonize. There is no word of defeat for the rebels who are actually just demanding justice over their area. The rebels agreed to hand over all weapons to be destroyed in public but not Khalid.
"They managed to trick you guys but tidal with me!"
