Ghost Dusk
Chapter 40 - Jewelry Box

...༻◈༺...

After saying what to say, June exits Shane's body. Now he looks back as orange smoke.

Shane felt a shock sensation. His eyes immediately broke.

"What's up, Shane?" Julie immediately rebuked. Pretend nothing happened.

"I-I'm fine. I just feel weird with myself lately" Shane said, holding his nape.

"Any? Meanin?" Julie found out. Afraid that Shane is aware of his possession.

Shane thought for a moment. Finding it difficult to explain to Julie, she chooses not to explain.

"Forget over. I don't think it's serious" said Shane, who responded to Julie with a nod of the head.

Shane and Julie trace locations in the school. Shane told me a lot about Julie. He even lulled to keep telling stories. Julie doesn't even know what to answer.

"Library is where I see you often. You're usually the only person who's more serious about reading books than your friends" Shane said. When she and Julie were in the library. Next, they walked to the hallway where there was a window on the right. Showing a sports field covered with green grass. There are also spectator seats lined up on the sidelines.

"You usually sit at the front during a football match. You were June's number one supporter back then. You even continue to give spirit even though June lost the match," continued Shane while recalling memories in the past. As a secret admirer, he would often pay close attention to Julie secretly.

"You seem to know more about me than myself. I don't even know what to say" Julie responded. His steps stopped when he saw the road to the stairs. Memory suddenly appeared.

Julie sees herself fighting with June near the stairs. June seemed apologetic and tried to explain.

"I don't like you like this! What's wrong with you, June?"

"I'm sorry, Julie. My friends and I promised never to do it again. Okay?"

"You promise?"

"Yes, I promise. Now can we go home now and go to our favorite place?"

That's the conversation Julie remembers. He remembers himself smiling and ends up going hand in hand with June.

"Favorite place?" Julie's mumble.

Shane, who was walking in front, only realized that Julie was left behind. He immediately looked back. Shane also stopped talking about Julie.

"Julie?" call Shane. Making Julie's daydream instantly fade.

"Sorry, I suddenly remembered something." Julie runs to get to Shane.

"really? What do you remember?" shane asked with widened eyelids.

"June and I had a fight near the stairs. And we ended up going to a favorite place. But I don't remember where it is" Julie explained, pointing to the stairs.

Julie nodded and confirmed. He and Shane stepped back. Until they finally finished exploring the entire location at the school.

"Tell me about our graduation prom. Did you bring a girl with you back then?" chirps Julie. He and Shane have left school. Walk together along the roadside.

"I didn't leave at the time" Shane replied briefly. His face looks flat.

"What's? Why?" Julie demands an answer.

"There's a problem that keeps me from leaving" Shane said ambiguously. He seemed reluctant to tell the real matter.

"It's a shame, even though prom is an important moment for graduation," Julie said.

"That's for some people. But for a guy like me, prom's not a big deal." Shane clenched his mouth tightly. He walked while putting his hands in the pocket of his coat. He and Julie stopped a passing taxi. Then head to the airport to return to California.

...***...

The journey went well. Julie and Shane finally arrive in California. Shane takes Julie home first. That's when Julie looked in the back seat. There's a gift bag that June told me about.

"You want to celebrate Christmas together? It's 11.30 nights now. It'll be 12 in a minute" Julie said.

"Aren't you tired?" Shane.

"Do I look tired. Or you're tired. If you're tired, you better--"

"No! Of course not. I just don't want you to get tired of spending time with a boring person like me." Shane cut Julie's words. He gave an explanation. Shane won't miss a chance to be with Julie.

"Then, can you stop by the cake shop? I want to buy you a present" Julie said.

"Can people talk about such a gift," Shane replied as he held his nape. He's getting comfortable with Julie, trying to joke around.

Julie chuckles. "Of course you can. It's because I'm not a sinterclass that secretly gives gifts to everyone's home" he said.

Shane chuckled. He stopped the car in front of the cake shop. Shane waited for Julie in front of the car. He took the time to pick up the gift he had prepared. When Julie arrives, Shane hands over the gift.

"It's a gift from me" said Shane.

"You've prepared it? Thank you, Shane." Julie responded enthusiastically. He took Shane's gift. Then open the bag.

Julie finds a jewelry box that June mentioned. At first he doubted. Julie will continue to experiment.

"What's this?" julie asks while removing the jewelry box from Shane's gift bag.

Shane's forehead is crimped in. Those who do not want to buy jewelry are confused.
