Ghost Dusk
Chapter 9 - First Love

...༻◈༺...

"Ekhem!" June deliberately escapes Fred's question in a way that beats.

"He's my new secretary." Julie raised her voice to answer Fred's question.

"Yes, that's right. The work is very tiring but the fatigue will not be felt if you have a boss like Julie," Shane said enthusiastically.

"You're right." Fred smiled wryly. He was annoyed by Shane's sudden presence. The man even sat down to join without permission first.

Julie squinted her eyes suspiciously. He felt familiar with Shane's behavior.

Shortly after, the waiter arrives to deliver Julie and Fred's order. Because Shane just came in, he didn't get anything.

"Can I order the same meal as my beautiful boss" Shane said.

Julie's eyes are round. He did not think he could hear that compliment from a Shane.

"of course. Just a minute, Mister." The waiter immediately moved. He'll prepare the dish Shane wants.

"Shane, what do you want to go to the restaurant? Aren't you doing any promises with anyone? Like dating for example?" Fred asked me a series of questions.

"I just..." June tried to find the right answer. But had not had time to find an idea, a woman suddenly touched his shoulder.

"Mirhane?" call the lady who's suitably chef.

Shane turned. The same goes for Julie and Fred.

"Yes?" June responded with a confused face. He was afraid that the person he was facing was Shane's acquaintance. June decides to leave Shane's body.

Julie's eyes rounded when she saw orange smoke coming out of Shane's body. Now at least he knew that the geeky man had been possessed by something.

Shane's body jerks. He shook his head to wake himself up. Shane looked confused.

"Mane? Are you all right?" Julie stand. He asked about Shane's situation.

Shane's eyes widened when he saw Julie's presence. He reflexively stepped back. He accidentally hit the table and dropped a glass.

Prangs!

The glass broke into pieces. Makes Shane even more nervous.

"Sorry! Sorry..." Shane immediately apologized clumsily and awkwardly. He gets more nervous in front of Julie.

Shane is seen trying to clean up the broken glass on the floor. However, the woman in the chef uniform was quick to stop.

"It's okay, Shane. I'll take care of it" said the woman. She is Shane's aunt who has the name Marry. He waved at one of the servants.

"Alden, can you clean the broken glass on the floor? I promise I'll give you pocket money." exclaimed Marry. His co-worker came. Then clean up the commotion already made by Shane.

"I'm sorry." That's the only word Shane can say to Julie. He always vent his awkwardness by holding his glasses.

"Who are they, Shane?" marry asked as he looked at Julie and Fred in turn.

Fred, who had been feeling very disturbed, walked over to Julie's side. He whispered, "We'd better go. I've lost the mood to eat."

Julie just nodded. He immediately put the bag on his shoulder.

"really?" Marry widened her eyelids. Then greet Julie kindly. "Meet me, Marry. Aunt Shane. I just worked here as a cook in the kitchen" she continued.

"It's nice to meet you. I'm Julie. And this is Fred my friend," Julie responded as she introduced Fred. Marry greeted the man kindly.

"Please understand Shane's attitude. He was a bit quiet. But I hope he can be a good secretary" Marry said.

"You just calm down. Shane gave an excellent first impression on her first day of work" Julie said with a smile.

"really? Good then." Marry glanced at Shane. He was proud of his nephew.

"Yes, Julie and I have to go. We have a sudden business" Fred said. He and Julie left the restaurant together.

Fred drove Julie home. Both are in the car.

Julie daydreams. He thought about what happened to Shane earlier.

'What is the orange smoke I saw earlier the same figure as in the apartment?' inner Julie. He remembered that he often saw a kind of orange smoke in the apartment. Especially when Julie accidentally wakes up at night.

"Did you eat your steak?" ask Fred. Successfully disperse Julie's daydream.

"Just a little" replied Julie.

"Your secretary named Shane was very strange. I don't know why I feel like he has two different personalities" Fred said, focusing on driving.

"Not really. Maybe he's just tired." Julie, who knows that Shane was possessed, tries to protect Shane's personality.

"Wow, you're a very good boss" Fred commented. Means sarcasm.

"Yes, I know." Julie responded while raising her chin arrogantly. He was obviously just kidding. Fred understood, automatically laughing.

Shortly after, the car arrived at its destination. Julie got down and waved. He and Fred will meet again tomorrow. At the same time, of course.

On the other hand, Shane was looking at her reflection in the mirror. Julie's praise for her kept ringing in her head.

'Shane gave an excellent first impression on her first day of work.'

Shane took the wallet out of his pants pocket. From there he pulled out a medium-sized pin. The safety pin looks a little rusty. Maybe Shane's been keeping it for years.

Shane looked at the cross-hairs. At that time he also remembered the figure who had given him the object. That person was none other than Julie.

It all happened a few years ago. When Shane was in his second year of High School. As a quiet and nerdy child, he was often bullied by other children.

Once Shane's jeans were forcibly removed until the hook was broken. That made Shane unable to use his pants anymore. His pants were several times belorotized by the people who bullied him.

Shane was laughed at all by everyone. He could only duck while trying to protect his vitals. Despite wearing da-lam pants, Shane certainly still felt embarrassed.

When everyone was busy laughing, a girl approached Shane. He drove the bullies out without fear. Then give a safety pin to Shane.

'Use this to fix your pants.' the words Julie said back then, were never forgotten by Shane. Out of the many people, he became the only one who did not laugh. Shane felt full.

Since then, Julie has been a superhero to him. Until a long time love appeared in Shane's heart.

"I didn't expect to see him again" Shane murmured. Speaking to the safety pin he held. As if that was Julie.

Shane hadn't seen Julie in a long time. But she never forgot her first love.
