Ivy turns on the television and finds the show interesting. They both noticed the event, with occasional comments and laughs. Ivy felt relieved that the atmosphere that had been quiet, was now filled with small talk and laughter.
After a few minutes of watching, Michael suddenly said, "Ivy, I want to tell you something."
Ivy turned to Michael, "What is that?"
Michael paused for a moment, then said in a dubious voice, "I knew all along I hadn't paid enough attention to you as a lover even as your husband. I feel so grateful for everything you've done for me all this time, but I feel like I haven't quite returned the favor."
Ivy felt overwhelmed to hear that, "Michael, you don't have to reply to anything. You were always there for me too, even from the very beginning I knew you."
Michael smiled, "I know, but I feel like I should be better to you.”
Ivy shook her head, "You're good enough, Michael. I don't need anything more from you.”
Michael looked at Ivy with a sincere look, "But I want to give you something. Something that can show you how valuable you are.”
Ivy paused for a moment, then said, "You've given me so much, Michael. I don't need anything anymore."
Michael nodded, "Alright, I understand. But still, I want you to know that you are the best person I have ever had. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Ivy smiled, "You too, Michael. And I'm sure we'll continue to support each other."
Michael smiled, "Thank you, Ivy. I really appreciate that.”
The two of them continued watching the television show, while letting time pass quietly beside each other.
The next day, Michael was released from the hospital. He was relieved to finally be able to return to his own home and continue his life as before. He did feel a bit weak and had to rest, but he was happy because he could be in a place that was familiar and close to his family.
That day, Ivy accompanied Michael home. They walked to the hospital parking lot cautiously and waited for a taxi to take Michael home. While waiting for a taxi, Ivy asks Michael about how he feels and what he wants to do after he gets home.
"It's nice to be home" Michael said with a small smile. "But I know I still have to rest. I want to sleep and eat good food. Maybe watch a movie or read a book."
As the taxi arrives, Ivy helps Michael up and sits in the back while Ivy sits in the front. They talk a little bit about life and plans ahead. Michael said he planned to get back to work as soon as possible and did not want to let the accident interfere with his life for too long.
When they arrive at Michael's house and meet Michael's family. Ivy helps her to go upstairs and into her bedroom. Ivy helps Michael to relax and tells him to call Ivy if he needs anything.
After a few hours, Michael calls Ivy to tell her he wants to eat. Ivy went down to the kitchen to prepare food for her.
"It's been a long time since I've eaten such good food" Michael said with a smile. "Thank you for bringing me this food."
"It's great to help you, Michael," Ivy replied. “I'm always ready to help you anytime."
While eating, they talk about life and what will happen next. Michael says he wants to get back to work as soon as possible, but he also understands that he still needs to rest and recover fully.
"I don't want to rush back to work" he said. "But I don't want to be too slow either. I need to find the right balance between resting and recuperating and working."
After eating, Michael returned to his room to rest. Ivy made sure that she felt comfortable and safe before leaving.
…
Ivy fell silent, her eyes closed as Michael asked her to return to her fiance. Her tears started to fall on her cheeks. Michael felt sad to see Ivy like that, he did not want to hurt anyone, especially Ivy but he knew he should not be selfish.
"Alright, Ivy. I-i understand. You should go back to your fiancee, she must miss you so much." Michael said, trying to calm Ivy who was crying.
"Michael, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." Ivy said, her voice sounding disjointed because of her crying.
"No need to regret. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm just unlucky to love someone who already has someone else." Michael replied in a sad tone.
Ivy looked at Michael with sparkling eyes, "Do you really love me?"
"Yes, I love you so much. I loved you from the first time we met and I threw away the opportunity, now I can't force you to love me anymore. You already have a fiancee and I don't want to get in the way of your happiness." Michael answered sincerely.
Ivy felt so sad, she never thought that Michael would love her this sincerely. She felt so guilty for not being able to love Michael again the way she wanted. Ivy is eager to hug Michael, giving him the love he needs, but he can't do it because he has to go back to his fiancee.
"I've never felt so open to anyone before, but with you, I feel so comfortable to talk about everything" Ivy said with tears in her eyes.
Michael grabbed Ivy's hand and held it tight. "I feel the same, Ivy. I feel so lucky to meet you and spend time with you. Maybe this is my destiny, Ivy. And I will always pray for you to be happy" Michael replied with a gentle smile.
As time went by, Ivy had to drive to the airport to get back to Paris, so Michael drove Ivy to the airport in his driver-assisted car. During the trip, the two did not say much, the atmosphere was so quiet and sad.
Arriving at the airport, Ivy got out of the car and picked up his bag. He looked at Michael with a sad look, "Thank you for everything, Michael. I will never forget you."
Michael smiled, "Sama-sama, Ivy. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. May you be happy with your fiancee."
Ivy hugged Michael tightly, trying to hold back her cries, "Goodbye, Michael."
Michael embraces Ivy tightly, feeling deeply saddened at having to let go of his loved ones. He felt Ivy's tears falling on his shoulder.
"Ivy, don't forget to be happy. I always pray for you." Michael said in a hoarse voice.
Ivy nodded, still tightly embracing Michael, she did not want to let go of his embrace. But he has to go, he has to go back to Alex.
Finally, Ivy let go of his embrace and went to the airport entrance. He turned his head once more and saw Michael who was still standing in his place, watching his departure. Michael raised his hand and gave a small smile. Ivy smiled sadly, feeling sad for having to leave Michael, someone who once filled his heart with fond memories.
Michael sees Ivy leaving with a heavy heart, but he feels relieved that Ivy has decided to return to his fiancee. Although he felt sad about losing Ivy, he knew that was best for him and for Ivy.
A few weeks later, Michael receives a wedding invitation from Ivy. He felt sad, but also happy for Ivy.
Michael and Ivy never met again. However, the memories of Ivy always haunted his mind. She felt grateful to have met someone like Ivy, and she knew that her memories would always bring happiness to her heart.
