Chapter 20: Unexpected

Trainees who have not chosen feel nervous for fear that the song they want cannot be chosen and must get a song that is not desired by other trainees.

Sophie who chose the vocal for her position with the song Celebrity walked behind the wall with anticipation, but she was surprised not to play. Not like the trainee's guess outside just now, but something more surprising. He wasn't even surprised to see Sydney one song with him. But what kept him agape for a while was that Ava chose Rap as her position.

“Why did you choose Rap ?” tanay Sophie with wide eyes. “This is not a hoax right?”

Ava showed Sophie the card she chose and it was written like the title of the song behind Ava.

“Why don't you choose dance or vocals ?” ask Sophie the song with increasing surprise.

“I am not very familiar with the song.” said Ava slowly so that only can be heard Sophie. but but can be heard through the mic she uses. “You know myself I don't really memorize the title of the song.”

Sophie then comes to terms with Ava's intentions. Indeed Ava usually listened to the song but not so memorized by the title of the song. So he didn't understand which one to choose.

“Then why not choose a dance song randomly ?” sophie asked trying to advise Ava.

“Dance.. Too tiring.” Ava replied weakly.

Sophie could only be speechless with a sense of inexhaustibility with Ava's strange thoughts. He could only shake his head and return to his ranks leaving Ava alone in the Rap section.

Almost most of the people who saw Ava in the Rap section thought she was pranking people, but everyone was surprised like Vivian and Sophie when they saw the board that Ava was carrying was Rap.

Scarlett who was ranked 15th was surprised to see Ava standing in the Rap section, she asked with her eyes when she was the place. Sophie could only whisper a few words as Scarlett stood next to her, saying a few reasons why Ava chose Rap.

This reason is rather difficult for most people to accept and makes them somewhat irritated because Ava's reason is rather careless. But he started looking forward to the other reaction when he saw Ava marching in the Rap section.

Most of the other songs have been selected and most are just songs on Rap that are not yet fully filled, so Clarence, Leah and Hailey get a chance to choose the Rap song they want.

Clarence joins Ava in the same song, she is just as surprised and their reaction is the same, especially Hailey who came a bit later. She was very surprised to see Ava in the song that was finally forced on her when she initially did not want the song.

“Why can you be here ?” ask him confusedly.

“I chose Rap.” replied Ava quietly.

“You can do Rap ?” hailey asked in disbelief.

“Lumayan,” Ava replied briefly.

Hailey did not ask further because she knew Ava would answer briefly. He chose to ask later when they were already seated.

Finally the last trainee participant chose the same song as Ava. Crystal is a bit sad because she is usually bad with vocals and dances especially with rap. He doesn't know what to do in his group.

But her sadness changed with shock at seeing Ava in the same song as her. This is a bit surprising for everyone. The latter Cyrstal felt even more sad because it was likely that he would lose popularity to the already very popular Ava. Plus Ava is a very scary person, she saw from the moment she taught in class F first. But his impression with Ava was good enough to teach, so he was a bit excited in the hope that he would be taught.

“Good because all trainees have got their respective positions please practice and your coach will meet you in class. See you on stage!” keegan said goodbye after delivering the mission to them.

The trainees who lined up said goodbye to Keegan and were instantly allocated in the hall in groups so that they could immediately begin to talk about and divide their respective roles.

Ava's group sat in a corner in a semi-circular position and there was a camera recording them. Ava sat on the very end so her face only looked half of the camera.

“So let's talk about this.” Hailey said then looked at Ava. “Why did you choose this song ?”

Ava looked at Hailey and the other three group mates and lowered her head slightly. “I don't know any other songs, so I just chose this song.”

“You don't know another song ?” ask Crystal in shock.

Hailey calmed Crystal down by explaining, “Before that, she didn't know the song we were performing until playing her music.”

“You didn't listen to a song ?” nancy asked quietly not as hesitant as Crystal.

“I listened, it's just that I didn't memorize the title of every song I listened to before.” Ava explained. “I only know the song and title of this song so I just choose.”

“But you can do Rap right?” ask Crystal, here's the most important question.

Ava nodded. “Lumayan. Not too bad.”

“At least good if you can.” said Cyrstal sadly and lowered his head. “I can't do Rap, it's the first time I've been asked to sing it.”

“Don't worry, we will try to help you.” Hailey said calming the already desperate Crystal before trying.

Nancy also tried to encourage Crystal so she wouldn't give up first. Hailey glanced at Nancy nervously. Both are people who can and train with Rap while still in the company.

“So should we start with the selection of center and leader ?” tanya Hailey wants to accelerate their development because they still have to write Rap lyrics. “Ava already knows this song right ? So I guess there's no need to listen to it right ?”

Ava nodded.

“I feel Hailey or Nancy should be the Leader or center.” said Crystal handed this position to both. “Because you guys are the ones who understand Rap well so you should be the ones leading”

Ava nodded with excitement. He did not want to be the center, so he would start the process of reducing his sense of existence.

Hailey and Nancy stared at each other and became nervous. Because of course they both have the desire to be the center. “Then should we start by checking who matches ? Just do a few short rap just now let me and Ava pick.” Crystal said while looking at the two.

This makes both of them nervous. But they still prepared themselves and did their rap part and showed their charm for this song.

Ava and Crystal gave the two of them time to write a little rap to listen to first. As soon as he did, Ava told Cyrstal some basics for Rap so he wouldn't have any trouble later. He began by making Crystal sing the rap that already exists in order to follow the rap rhythm.

“The most important part is that you have to know the rhythm when doing rap. That way you will be easier to sing it.” said Ava. “Use a few words that have the same sounding sentence to make it more palatable to hear.”

Ava exemplifies by reading an existing lyric song to Crystal. Ava raps very naturally and makes Crystal rather fascinated to hear it even though it is not the result of her own writing.

“Now you try.” said Ava asked Crystal to give it a try.

Crystal instantly regained consciousness and hurriedly stared at some sample lyrics on his paper and tried to rap for the first time. But the results were stammering and sounded a bit uncomfortable.

“Try by reading it first, the most important thing is that you are comfortable with your own pronunciation.” said Ava gave another suggestion and patiently waited for him.

Crystal tried again in a slower tone and this time did it better. He sounded more comfortable and more natural than before. Crystal is of course happy to be able to rap even though it is very slow.

Ava nodded cheeringly. His intention that Crystal could be better than him would be so good that he could get the least part later. So he tried to train Crystal as quickly as possible in order to reduce the spotlight.

“We're done, should we try ?” ask Hailey,

Nancy next to him looked very nervous holding the paper containing the lyrics with worry.

Ava and Crystal put on a comfortable position and looked at the two and prepared to listen.

“I sweat I make it look too easy

Hailey got her start with her swag style bringing a pretty good short rap. Ava and Crystal nodded and clapped in appreciation for Hailey, who has worked hard writing rap lyrics.

“Nancy your turn.”

“Met him then get him

I make sure we stay

Got the venom

To dead him

If he wants a snake

I mean sneak

I mean play hide and seek

Know that I'm gonna find you

Make sure you get left or you leave”

Rap Nancy is much shorter but has a rhythm that is also no less cool than Hailey. Crystal and Ava applauded loudly after hearing the short rap.

Ava on the other hand started thinking about who to choose. He pulled Crystal over to talk the two over.

“So who should we choose ?” ask Crystal. “It's hard actually, both of them are excellent rappers.”

“Hm.. This song is actually suitable for rappers who are good at rapping in a relaxed style.” Ava told Crystal.

“Then, Nancy is a good fit.” said Crystal after hearing Ava's words.

“But the thing is, Hailey's rap style is more stable than Nancy's but Hailey's rap style is too strong.” Ava said again, as quoted by Reuters, according to him Nancy is suitable for this song but as a rapper he feels Hailey is more suitable.

“This is not an easy thing.” Crystal said after hearing Ava's speech. “Then how should we choose to play rapper ?”

Ava was silent and both of them thought. “Then in your personal opinion, who will you choose.” asked Ava.

“I feel better, Nancy. He seems more suitable for this song.” he replied.

Ava nodded in agreement, “it would have been better.. Then we agreed ?”

Crystal nodded in agreement and did not extend the time any longer. They rejoin Nancy and Hailey who are already restless waiting.

“Why were you guys so long?” hailey asked nervously.

Ava and Crystal smiled at her protest. “This is hard to disconnect.” said Ava slowly.

“Then can we announce ?” nancy was getting impatient.

Ava and Crystal stared at each other, Ava giving Crystal a sign so she could tell them. So Crystal took a breath and looked at the two with a mysterious attitude.

“We decided that will play rapper as well as center is.” Crystal imitate Keegan to be mysterious by giving a long pause. “Nancy!”

Nancy was immediately stunned because she could get the center position. At first he was worried because it was likely to lose to Hailey who was indeed very good at rap.

“The reason is because Nancy is better suited to the image of this song although Hailey rap is also good but for this song is a bit too strong.” said Crystal explained their decision.

Hailey accepted although somewhat disappointed because of failing to get a position playing rapper. But he accepted Ava and Crystal's decision which was definitely talked about first.

“But I think you can be the lead Rapper after Nancy.” Ava said she gave him the honor.

“True, we are also not very good at rap.” said Crystal agreed with it. “Although I will try, but I am not in a confident condition to do a completely foreign rap.”

Ava nodded like a chicken pecking next to her.

Nancy and Hailey looked at each other and the two seemed hesitant as this would make the two comrades scramble for part later. Although now they are not in a position to fight over parts, but still they are worried about it.

“If you want to like that, well.” said Hailye, she feels better trying to highlight a little part rather than having a lot of parts but difficulties.

Ava felt a lot calmer as there was a chance that she would not get much of the spotlight this time. Because choosing Rap, the task is not difficult, much easier than being a vocalist. He just needs to write the lyrics and maintain the song with the same beat and rhythm as before.

Everything becomes easier, he just needs to teach Crystal with Hailey's help.

Amidst training, Ava went to the bathroom to wash her sleepy face. As soon as she finished washing her face, Sophie came with Sydney to her.

“Ava...” call Sophie with a bit of a weld.

Ava turned around and looked at the confused Sopohie. He also sees Sydney next to Sophie who feels bad coming to him.

“I want to ask for help.” Sophie said in a sad tone.

“What's up?”

“We had trouble choosing a suitable arrangement for our song.” Sophie replied.

“Do you have any suggestions ?” ask Sydney shamelessly.

“Which song ?” asked Esme confused. She doesn't really understand the song Sophie chose.

“Follow us for a while then.” said Sophie took Ava back to her group and Sydney.

Sophie's group contained four people. The other two people are very good vocalists but unfortunately they are not very experienced with Aransemen.

Ava who was brought back to their place made the other two members of the group stare in confusion. So Sophie and Sydney introduced them first.

“This is Sara Whipson. Then this is Yoal Neil.” Sophie said introducing. “This is my friend Ava Luna, she has experience in Arrangement. So I brought him in to ask for advice.”

Hearing Ava have an experience, the two change their faces and look excited. Ava sits in front of them and listens to the original song of soloist Sophie.

The song is very nice and pop-style with a lot of musical elements in it. But as Ava listened to it she felt it also matched simple music like acoustics.

Seeing that there was only a keyboad on their side, Ava thought of asking an ordinary guitar to show them what she could suggest.

“Is there a regular guitar ?” ask Ava.

They nodded and immediately stood spinning the regular guitars from the staff. Just a moment later, Sara had already brought back the guitar to them.

Ava received the guitar while handing Sophie the lyrics. “Singing as in the song earlier, can it be ?” ask Ava to Sophie.

Sophie nodded.

“1..2..3” said Ava asked Sophie to start singing then she followed with her guitar strum. To add a little variety, Ava gave a little knocking sound to her shoes with wooden floors that could be heard clearly.

Sophie sings very well. In some parts, Ava sang a little like a duet and sometimes in some places she broke the voice and tone so there was variety.

Ava masin in some places provide variety by playing her own tone. While the main music is just a guitar accompaniment and tap on his shoes.

The song sounds to be crowded despite using very minimal music. This arrangement that Ava played spontaneously managed to make the three girls who did not really understand the arrangement become sparkling.

At the end of the song, Ava stared at the four. “This song can use acoustics, you just need to play the choir like earlier.” Ava said telling them. He picked up the lyric paper and began to signify where they could play a mix of voices together.

“This is just my suggestion, you can develop it further.” Ava said as she continued to put marks on the lyric paper. “Then for musical instruments, I suggest regular guitar like earlier and cajon to add a little sense of spirit as in the song without too much.”

Ava returned the paper she had marked Sophie again. Then give them a sign to be enthusiastic in this task. “Then get excited!” he said before standing up from the seat.

After saying this, Ava fled back to her group. Before he was asked to intervene more in their song.  Crystal saw him coming from the vocal area in astonishment. “Why did you go there ?”

“Meet my friend.” Ava said briefly then sat down next to Crystal and started writing songs. “Let's start writing lyrics” says Ava invites Crystal to start writing lyrics.

Today they have to start writing and training because tomorrow it is likely that they will meet in person with the coach to show it once. So today, they are busy writing lyrics and criticizing each other if there is anything less than their respective lyrics.

Crystal is making rapid progress this time, she tries to do a lot of rap practice first and repeatedly revises her song lyrics after getting a coemntar from her teammate.

Ava's life in the program is easier, especially when they get their own practice room to practice. They are much more free, Ava especially when free will stretch themselves in the corner of the training room casually while teaching Crystal.

Not only did the group change, their rooms also changed, Ava moved rooms together with her team now. It's hard to move after getting used to an old roommate. Therefore, they will be sad when they have to pull out their bags from the room.

“Didn't want to go separate ways from you guys.” said Ellie hugged Leah tightly.

“We should be more friends. Especially you Ava.” said Clarence reminded Ava who was very cold and quiet at the beginning of their meeting. “More talk to your friends and don't make them misunderstand.”

Ava looked at Clarence who was lecturing her with a flat gaze, She did make a lot of people misunderstand especially at the beginning they knew her. But Ava did not want to refute or reply to Clarence's remarks and let him scold him.

“Do not look cold when we meet understand.” Scarlett said to Ava jokingly.

“True, don't forget us if you meet a new friend.” Ellie added to Ava.

Leah and Hailey held back laughter hearing everyone reprimanding Ava so she wouldn't cool off with others or forget them. Ava did not respond to them and turned her face away from them with a bad taste in her heart.

“I won't forget you guys.” Ava said slowly, although she wasn't serious really for debut. But always cherish every relationship he makes here.

They all smiled when Ava said that. Because they all know that Ava's not a talkative person. They understand him more.

After going on a positional mission this time around, Ava had a lot of time outside of her usual, even more than when she was working as a composer. He does the exercises with his friends in a relaxed atmosphere unlike any other team competing and is afraid they cannot get a good vote.

Crystal had given up from the start and chose to make a nice performance with his team so as not to regret it. After all, he got a lot of Rap science and even other knowledge from Ava who still want to teach him on the sidelines of their break.

Their daily lives are much more satisfying, Nancy and Hailey support each other and advise to show their best. When too tired to practice they tell stories or rather Ava who listened to the three tell stories.

Their compactness is pretty good, unexpected and no one is greedy with their rap part. Crystal who ended up making progress for a day did not want to add another sentence. While Ava does not want to get more parts because it is too parting. So most of Nancy and Hailey's rap parts are very much.

Ava's ability which was initially somewhat in doubt by Hailey managed to make the two people who knew Rap stunned on the spot. Ava raps with a lazy face, but her voice and rhythm have a cool feeling that can't be explained.

“This is clearly unfair!” hailey shouted in annoyance. “You are great at everything! Tell me honestly, why did you choose real rap ?”

Ava looked at Hailey who looked annoyed but also looked cute in Ava's eyes. “Don't I tell you I don't know any other songs, so I chose this song.”

Hailey did not say and silently looked at Ava with a flat look. “It is precisely that that makes this even more annoying.”
