Chapter 26: The Last Class

The interview ended quickly, Ava did not look emotional or vibrate at all. He just looks tired and tired.

When he wanted to get out, the staff who had spilled water on the camera held him back. “Do not tell others about the incident earlier.”

Ava stared for a while and thought this staff was afraid of her reporting so she simply nodded obediently and returned to the training room as if nothing had happened.

When Ava left, the female staff ran to the room where the director was monitoring everyone.

“How can he fix the camera ?” asked the director who was watching to be panicked and still shocked. The people who saw the room were the staff who set up hidden cameras for the trainees to see the real reaction if something happened.

“He said he knew from his part-time job.” replied the staff, he was also still surprised to see how Ava fiddled with the camera.

The director became dumbfounded, he tried to calm himself down because he was still surprised to see there were trainees who could even fix the camera that was deliberately damaged by them.

“Tenang.” said the director tried to calm himself who was starting to worry. “Not all trainees are like him, so this hidden camera will definitely work.”

The other staff nodded in agreement, they returned to the position of preparing to perform another hidden camera.

Ava who returned to the training room did not know the events she caused managed to make all staff rearrange and more determined to make other trainees exposed to hidden cameras.

He came back and was immediately quizzed by another trainee about what the interview was this time.

“As usual,” Ava replied before returning to training again.

The other trainee nodded in understanding not feeling strange at all. Ava always answers very briefly if it has nothing to do with their practice. Moreover, Ava was an honest person, so they trusted her 100% without any doubt at all. Because there has been a leak from Ava, the next trainee who goes for an interview does not feel worried or hope there will be a surprise.

But a strange incident occurred, the trainees who returned to the training room after the practice had some kind of strange aura. They said the same thing with Ava but it felt like something was strange.

Those who have not been interviewed are not so curious but those who will already smile when they see trainees who come to the training room. This strange atmosphere continues to grow bigger until all the trainees in the room in the interview. They dared to speak after that.

“So what did you guys do earlier ?” ask a trainee to another trainee.

“I was just trying to calm him down.”

“I really entered the room without any care. When the camera was water spilled, I panicked!” one of the trainees who came in after Ava recounted her experience.

The trainee who entered after Ava directly pointed at Ava who was busy looking for a good posture. “This is because Ava does not show any strange signs.”

Ava shook her head slowly.

“Staff who interviewed you spilled water on camera and pretended to panic. It was a hidden camera to see your reaction.” Crystal explained.

“You don't know it's a hidden camera?!”

Ava shook her head.

“Then what do you do when the staff looks panicked ?” ask the others.

“I dried it with my t-shirt and fixed it. The camera was back on again after a while.” Ava replied calmly.

But everyone became silent hearing his words. No one expected Ava to do that.  “....”.

Ava's attitude greatly made people realize the fact that Ava was a rather unexpected person. He can even justify a camera that should be a hidden camera.

“I don't know what to say.” said Sydney looked helplessly at Esme.

“Didn't they ask you not to give it to a teammate ?” ask Crystal. “You don't feel weird at all from there ?”

Ava shook her head slowly. “No. I don't think he wants anyone to know about the incident. I helped fix it anyway.”

They understood Ava's intentions, because the camera had been fixed, there was no point in her exposing the problem anymore. That's why he didn't suspect anything at all.

“By the way how do you know about the camera ?” ask Sydney suddenly.

“Part-time.” Ava replied then turned around and went back to training again.

“Ava, let's take a break first. We start in half an hour.” said one trainee saw Esme had started practicing choreography again.

“True Ava, let's play a little. I'm too tired to dance again.” said the other with a tired face.

Ava looked at them then glanced at Sydney asking for her opinion. Sydney nodded and she ended up sitting together with them.

“What if we play a little game ?”

“What game ?”

“This is a game that I found on the internet, quite interesting sort of guessing.” said a trainee caught everyone's attention. “I'll ask you some kind of question, you can ask any possibility for that answer, and I'll answer yes, no, and I can. Well lastly you only need to answer the question after the information is collected.”

“It looks interesting, like a detective game.”

“Let's just try anyway we're bored now.”

The others nodded in agreement and they started playing.

“This is a game called Soup Sea Turtle. Ever heard of it ?” ask the trainee who is a moderator.

The others shook their heads. They usually focus on practice so don't really know anything like that on the internet.

“Then let me explain while playing.” This moderator trainee started the game. “There was a man who walked into a famous restaurant that served sea turtle soup. He ate the soup and immediately called his chef to ask ‘Is this Soup a sea turtle ?’. The chef replied ‘ya, this is sea turtle soup.’. The man paid for his food, went home and committed suicide. What do you think happened ?”

Everyone seemed to think of hearing the story.

“You can start asking questions to find information.” said the moderator trainee please allow them to start asking questions.

“Did the man raise a sea turtle before ?” ask Sydney for the first time.

“No.”

“Is sea turtle soup the code ?”

“No.”

“Is the soup poisonous ?”

“No.”

“Why did he kill himself ?” ask someone confused. “I've tried sea turtle soup before, it doesn't taste bad.”

“Did he ever eat sea turtle soup before ?” asked Ava to realize something.

“Can be.”

“Can be ? Does that mean uncertain ?” ask the other trainee in confusion.

But hearing that the result of the question, another trainee realized something and began to ask other questions. “Is he a fisherman ?”

“Oh! Could be again, it looks like we're getting closer.” They all became even more excited with the closer their answers came.

“Has he ever had an accident?” If he became a fisherman there is a possibility he must have had an accident.

Everyone was getting excited to hear the answer almost being found. They think they are trying harder to find the next question.

“Uh, wait a minute. Does that mean there's a chance he ate his own friend out of hunger?” They started imagining certain scenarios in their heads. The kind that often appears in movies.

“Did the man eat his own friend and thought it was sea turtle soup ?”

“True!” the moderator's trainee shouted confirming the answer.

They cheered after answering the question. This game makes everyone closer, because they have to discuss with each other.

Ava inevitably also admitted that playing games is the right thing for them to get closer. He himself became closer to his teammates, though not really to the stage where he was really familiar with them.

In the end their good game is over and they have to get back to training again. Ava especially did not slack off at all and continued to review everyone on her team.

Some trainees became touched, though they had concerns they might not be able to perform the song. Ava still gives them lessons and tips so that they can develop better even if out of the program.

“I always feel sad when thinking about the possibility we will not be able to display this song.” said a trainee who does have a low rating.

This video is a behind-the-scenes exercise vidoe carefully selected by staff so as to highlight the points of the trainees involved. These videos were immediately responded to by fans and received much praise from trainees who practiced earnestly and developed their talents continuously.

One of the hottest videos was a video of Ava and her teammate doing a choreography of a previous song. Those who watched it felt that the choreography made by Ava looked very easy and dazzling without using a lot of complicated moves.

Everyone was getting more and more excited about practicing choreography, but on the sidelines of the practice, they also started practicing their vocals and increasing cooperation with each other to fill the song with their voices.

Vocal and rap coaches Vincent and Zoo praised them for improving.

The others nodded and agreed to Echoes. Although they may fail, what they get is very valuable. Every moment they pass through in this program is precious.
