Chapter 25: Join Together

The next day they came to the training room together with the coach. This time the classes they attended were vocal and rap classes. In the room there was already Vincent and Zoo waiting for them. They greeted with a bow and then lined up.

“Let's just start the exercise. First team.” call Vincent while flipping through the paper in his hand trying to find anyone who is in the team this first time.

The Zoo coach who saw Ava being in the First team immediately smiled. “Are you in rap position ?” ask the Zoo coach Ava who is standing at the very edge.

Ava shook her head. “Vocal.” Ava replied briefly.

Coach Zoo immediately clucked to hear it. “So good talent. Why choose vocals ?”

Coach Vincent next to him immediately showed a disapproving face. “She is also a good talent at vocals.”

“But still he previously picked rap over vocals.” Coach Zoo argued.

Coach Vincent intends to debate it again but he glances at the trainees still standing before them. Finally he held back and smiled allowing them to begin.

Ava looked at Sydney who became the first lead vocalist. Sydney nodded her head in a sign that she was ready and Ava began to sing with a soulful hum, giving the listeners goosebumps. Coach Vincent even frowned because he felt his hair standing up.

Sydney connected Ava's singing with other humming and followed by other trainees who welcomed their part. Ava and Sydney had already talked about sharing add-lib that they could add. So when they show this time Ava and Sydney will occasionally do add-lib so that the song does not sound empty and help build the momentum of the song.

As soon as they finished singing the song, coach Vincent and Zoo seemed speechless, thinking about what they wanted to say. Coach Vincent raised his head first.

“It's amazing you can sing it this well in just a day's practice.” coach Vincent said in praise. “I was expecting this song to match your voice perfectly. Your cooperation is also very good at hearing.”

Coach Zoo showed an ugly face. “I don't want to admit it but indeed Ava has a very suitable voice for this song.”

“Thank you coach.” said they were together and then sat back on the sidelines letting the second team try to sing first.

The second team also sounded quite good in spite of the instability of their voices. Because it is natural for unstable trainees when they have just performed the song for the first time.

Maybe in Ava's team only he and Sydney were completely vocally stable and had no problems at all.

After evaluating both teams, both coaches start coaching and provide input to both teams.

“When you sing use your belly voice,” Vincent said to Crystal who was still singing unstably.

Ava and Sydney were knocked out at the back waiting for Vincent and Zoo to give direction to their team-mates. The two discussed and started criticizing each other when there was less of their share.

Since then, many trainees have reduced their attitude and greeted Ava whenever they passed by or asked Ava to teach them to move the choreography as shamelessly as before.

Dance classes will take place in the afternoon so they have to practice during the day to prepare. Ava as usual led her team to practice and justified any trainees who were wrong in moving.

“Good.” said Ava nodded at the already better Crystal. “Rest first 15 minutes. After this we rehearse choreography again.”

Crystal who was still panting from running could only nod and drop herself on the floor from exhaustion.

Ava sat next to him while trying to catch her breath. But when he wanted to rest there was another trainee who came asking for advice from him. So Ava served it first.

The more he heard the voice of this one trainee he could not help but comment. “Your voice is perfect for a ballad.” song he said

This trainee named Gema froze when he heard Ava's words. “Created ?”

Ava nodded. “Should the soundtrack song of the drama or movie also be very suitable. Something emotional.” Ava said again without blinking.

Ava could only sigh deeply. “If not so do you think my song will be of quality ?”

“Dad, next time I will make it not this difficult.” Ava said as she stepped onto the empty bench. “How was your training ?”

Ava was called rather early, she came to a quiet interview room and there was only a female staff sitting holding a glass and a camera nearby.

The staff panicked and tried to drain the water in a panic. Realizing what he was doing, this staff immediately looked at Ava worriedly and palely.

Ava immediately got up and approached him calmly. “Do not worry. Let me check the camera first.” Ava said while using her t-shirt to wipe the water on the camera carefully.

“I seemed to have broken it.” said the staff in a frightened tone.

Ava looked at him with a calming smile. “Let me try first, I understand a little about camera.”

“You... How can ?” the staff was a little shaky to hear him know a little about the camera.

“Part-time.” Ava replied and then carefully wiped the camera in her hand and checked if there was water coming into other parts. Then try to turn it on first. The live camera screen remained dead again after a while.

“I ruined it...” said the staff in great fear.

Ava started fiddling with the camera meticulously for a while. Then again trying to revive it, the screen came back to life and can function properly again.

“What's up?”

“Nothing, it's just, the camera there needs to be taken to the counter for periodic maintenance. It looks like this camera has been working for quite a while, it needs to be treated with more care.” Ava said then returned to sitting in the chair she was sitting in earlier.

The cameraman looked at the staff next to him with an amused smile but held back and immediately began Ava's interview.

“Difficult.” Ava replied briefly and honestly.

“Then why are you leading everyone in practicing choreography ?”

Ava let out a long breath hearing that. “Maybe because they think I can lead.”
