Chapter 9: The Re-Evaluation

After recording all trainee participants recorded, it was more than three hours from the initial time. The footage was sent to a room where the coaches and Producer Representative Keegan Nielson were.

“Do the trainees train well ?” ask Keegan the other coach.

“I feel they are training a lot, Class F a lot is improving.” said Orion reported the results while training.

“I agree, I think this time I look forward to class F. They are growing a lot” added Paris with an excited smile.

“I feel maybe some students from the upper class might come down.” said Vincent. “Last few times there were some that did not really increase at all.”

Keegan nodded in understanding then started to see the board containing the form before her. “Then we have to see, is it just start ? Did the coach guess really happen ?” keegan said with a grin.

The video starts playing randomly by the staff so that no one really knows who will advance next. The coaches' faces were ugly several times because of seeing some trainees who were supposed to be pretty good but instead looked very disappointing.

“I really did not expect that this girl did not really do well.” Paris said with a long sigh.

“I don't understand what this girl did for 3 days.” Keegan said disappointedly.

“I don't understand why he didn't move at all and just muttered.” Zoo commented once he saw there were unsatisfactory trainees.

“They don't even remember the lyrics at all and they intend to appear like this, really a joke.” Keegan commented a lot about his disappointment to see trainees who did not even move and just stayed in place because they did not remember anything.

Finally arriving at Sophie's appearance, her sweet face immediately appeared on the screen before retreating and introducing herself. “Halo, I'm Sophie Berger!”

The coaches initially did not really anticipate, but as soon as Sophie raised her head and showed her smile, the coaches' faces instantly changed.

Sophie danced very well, neatly, and cleanly. The vocals are also very good which makes Paris surprised by this. His voice was stable and did not falter as long as he sang it.

To the coach's surprise, Sophie adjusted her smile and provided a high sense of motivation for her audience. This makes the coaches happy.

As soon as he finished, the coaches comments praised him with full praise.

“Very good, this should be called with enough appearance.” said Orion proudly.

“Her voice was not so stable before, but what was surprising was that she performed well on this song, her high tone was very fitting and did not crack in the least.” Paris was very pleased with Sophie's very significant development.

The trainers decided on the rankings for him and immediately moved on to the other trainees. Several times the trainers found that class F had better dancing abilities even than those in grades D and C, making them shocked and proud of their development.

“Actually I heard from the staff that trainee students from class F do hard training every day.” Orion said. “But indeed this result is quite good for them.”

“Some do still have unstable vocals, but the rest are pretty good, at least they memorized the lyrics and choreography.” Keegan said appreciating.

“Truly willpower.” says Paris happy.

The assessment process turned out to be somewhat uncertain, but some trainees earned praise and some were disappointing. The face of the Zoo coach is a bit ugly because some trainees showed a not good performance at all.

“I am very disappointed, these trainees do not seem to really train in earnest.” he said with a long sigh.

As the atmosphere turned somewhat gloomy, Ava's pretty face appeared on the screen at close range.

“Wah! Beautiful trainee finally here.” said Orion anticipates. “She's pretty good in class.”

“I also anticipated it, in her vocal class very stable.” said Paris added.

Those who listened to him instantly anticipated Ava. On the screen, Ava finished introducing herself and began to be in the early position of the choreography. As soon as the music was on, Aya raised her head and smiled widely. Although the trainers know that Ava is beautiful but they never expect to get a feeling of fascination like a real artist.

Ava kind of spread a pleasant and soothing aura to everyone watching her. The song is also perfect for Ava and entertains everyone who watches it.

Move Ava much smoother and tidy than the other participants' movements. The vocals are also stable and unhindered. In essence, Ava's appearance was perfect.

Ava's self-confidence gives others the feeling to keep going and become confident in front of others.

When the music finished and Ava gave the final pose, the coaches could not help but sigh in admiration.

“Really shocking” says Paris can't say more.

“This girl is quite surprising.” Orion said as he nodded in agreement.

“In my opinion, he should have performed this song as center.”, Keegan said.

“Aura is very surprising for a trainee girl kan.” said Zoo gave positive words.

The coaches nodded in agreement with each other's words. With the atmosphere that Ava has brought, the coaches continue the evaluation and immediately give their assessment results quickly.

In class B, the atmosphere became somewhat tense as everyone became very afraid of the result. Some are very moody because they feel they have failed to do their best in the evaluation. Some others were looking forward to it and nervous about being impatient to get the result.

Meanwhile, Ava is in the corner sitting with Sophie, both of whom look very sleepy. Sophie herself had already laid her head on Ava's shoulder falling asleep due to fatigue over the past few days. Ava herself closed her eyes but her mind did not sleep because she felt she did not want to be invited to talk to other trainees without Sophie being able to help with their conversation.

The staff seemed to be planning something by discussing between them. Then a little while later, they started calling out to the trainees one by one and took them out of the room. I don't know what the trainees who came out but obviously most of those who came back with a puffy face like crying, but most have more stoic expressions than before.

The trainees who had yet to experience stared at them in wonder. “Did something happen?” ask one of the trainees on the trainee who just returned from the call.

This trainee girl shook her head with a smile and a face. “You will know for yourself later.” he said in a rather hoarse voice.

Many trainees are very curious about what happened but just keep quiet to see the staff who are guarding the door so that no trainees come out at times like now.

Ava opened her eyes and looked around where the trainees seemed to talk more to each other to entertain. Ava herself patted Sophie's heels gently to wake her up. Sophie muttered softly to Ava who woke her up.

“The staff calls some participants in turn for something. I think you need to wake up now.” Ava said in a small voice.

Sophie slowly got up while rubbing her eyes and then stretched her body. She stared around with her sleepy face. “how long did I fall asleep ?”

“Some minutes, maybe half an hour.” Ava replied while tidying up the pigtails and stretching out the stiff body.

“It feels refreshing after sleeping though not for long.” Sophie said with a happy smile.

“Resting after high intensity exercise is best.” Ava said slowly.

Sophie smiled in agreement and nodded. The two looked very relaxed and conversed without thinking about the upcoming evaluation. They spoke while occasionally staring at the door where the trainees entered the room.

“Why do you think they came back crying.” asked Sophie with curiosity.

“Somehow, maybe they have a rather sensitive interview.” Ava replied quickly.

Sophie nodded small. “True too, usually an event like this will not be interesting without any emotional element right ?”

Just as Ava was about to reply again, they were called and left along with the other two trainees. They were taken to a different vocal training room. Ava herself waited in the room quietly until one of the staff came at the door to inform her.

“You have 10 minutes to call your family. Please.” said the staff then gave Ava mobile phone.

Ava was silent holding her phone for a while. “must I just call the family ?” ask Ava before the staff leaves the room.

The staff nodded. “Only family.”

Ava suddenly gave her phone back to the staff while saying very calmly. “I don't think I need to make any calls.”

Ava who was already outside the room turned around and nodded then returned to the training room with a calm face. The trainees who saw him back very quickly were shocked but they did not dare to ask him. Ava sat on the tip alone while hugging her knees and closed her eyes to rest.

Sophie came back not long after, she looked a bit worried and went straight to Ava who was asleep hugging her knees. Sophie did not bother him, and sat next to him with a somewhat full mind.

Sophie is a bit worried about Ava after finding out that they can call their family members. She was worried that Ava would be sad because she could not call anyone, because she had no parents or relatives. Sophie looked at Ava who was asleep with a somewhat sad look.

Since he knew Ava many people have mocked Ava or bullied her for not having a family. But it's not Ava's fault that she has no relatives or parents, so others have no right to blame her for that. Sometimes, in order to comfort Ava, she takes him to visit her house so that she can interact with her family in the hope that she can feel a sense of kinship.

Although Ava did not react much and always put on her poker face, she but knew that Ava was disturbed. So Sophie was determined to make her happier and tried to open a path for her.

Sophie who thought quite a lot ended up also falling asleep with her head leaning on Ava who was also asleep. Both of them who fell asleep certainly attracted the attention of the other trainees and they intended to sleep as well because of it.

But their wishes could not be fulfilled because the staff asked them to prepare for the announcement of the results of the re-evaluation. Ava woke up as soon as the staff announced her announcement. Sophie automatically wakes up because Ava is moving. He looked around him confused and shocked.

“What's up?” ask Sophie.

“announcement of the results of the re-evaluation will be announced after this.” replied Ava then rubbed her sleepy face.

Sophie nodded then the two of them moved to sit in line and wait. Not long after a coach came to bring some piles of paper along with the map with a serious face.

“Halo!” greet all the trainees while bowing.

“Halo.” greet Orion calmly then sit in a chair in front of all the trainees. “Me and the other trainers have watched the video that you submitted. And also, we've decided on your final grade, based on the skills you showed in the video evaluation. So when your name is called, please go ahead and receive your evaluation card.”

The atmosphere of the trainees became very tense right now, everyone held their breath tightly when, coach Orion started calling one by one the trainees to come forward and receive the grading cards.

“Ava Luna” call coach Orion mention Ava's name to advance.

Ava immediately stood up and approached the coach Orion to receive a scoring card. Ava got a sign to open it in place and then turned around after checking the results. Ava opened her appraisal card and saw the red A in it which was very striking.

He immediately closed it after seeing the results, “Thank you.” Ava said before turning back to sit with a flat face.

Sophie was excited and looked at Ava with a curious look. Like he said he wanted to know the outcome. But Ava just gave a soft wink to her eyes while nodding lightly without giving an answer.

Sophie became impatient but she was surprised when her name was called and she had to come forward to take her assessment card. Sophie hurriedly stood up and picked up the card tensely, but her expression instantly turned casual as soon as she saw the contents of the card. She closed it and thanked him before turning to the seat.

With a card in her hand, she looked at Ava without being able to hide her happiness. He wanted to smile but he held it off because according to the rules, he could not publish the results before the time came.

But Ava who saw the face holding back her smile was clear she was going to go up the class with him to A class.

Luckily they were sitting at the very back so they were invisible to the other trainees so no one could see them. Ava gave a passing sign to keep calm and wait obediently.

The other trainees were better at hiding the results, they were flat and sat back to their seats quietly. As for how the results can only be announced after everything is finished and together move later.

“Because everyone has received their final evaluation results, I will go first.” Coach Orion once finished sharing all the evaluation results to the trainee.

“Thank you coach!” said the trainees thanked them together to get him out of the room.

After that the staff announced to everyone in each room. “For those who move, please move when the class you are going to is mentioned.” said the staff on duty. “Now, for those who get class F evaluation results please switch.”

All the trainees raised their heads in curiosity to know who would move to class F. After a few seconds, there was finally a standing trainee who was quite shocking to everyone on the spot.

Ava didn't know who this girl was so she didn't really react. But Ava recalled earlier that this girl seemed so nervous that she forgot all the choreography and lyrics. That's all he remembers.

When he saw many people surprised to see him, he just put on a flat face and instead confused to Sophie. Sophie of course knows Ava's confusion but gives a sign to explain later. Ava looked back to the front and waited quietly.

After another girl who came out there was no longer from class B that went down to class F. The staff waited and seemed to communicate with other staff before asking the trainee to move again.

“For those who have to move to class D please move now.” said staff break the silence.

The atmosphere was again tense due to this announcement and there were four people who had moved to Class D unexpectedly.

Ava felt very tired waiting in such tension and instead began to feel sleepy. Class B who moved to Class C is also not small, there are at least 5 people who moved there. Finally for those who move to class B, quite a lot of trainees who move to this class. Some are even from class F.

The more people move, making trainee B participants become more nervous because of it. The atmosphere in the room was inversely proportional, on the other hand class B trainees became nervous, while trainees who had just arrived were very happy.

“For those who have to move to class A, please move now.”

Sophie stares at Ava and codes to get up and move to A class. Sophie stood up first followed by Ava who stood up later. The two walked out of the classroom accompanied by the envious gazes of the other students.

Sophie and Ava climb the stairs to Class A with light steps and a very happy smile. Both of them from afar could see the gloomy-looking A-class and there were already many people waiting there.

Sophie entered first with a salute and then followed Ava who also followed Sophie in. The class A trainees seemed increasingly nervous to see the two enter Class A.

If you look at it there are only four people besides Ava and Sophie who can get into class A and they are still waiting if there are other trainees who will come. For those who are clearly going to be in their A class, it is quieter than those who are in A class itself.

“As I said before, if there are many other trainee participants coming to this class, it means that there is a greater chance that getting down to another class.” said the Paris coach in charge of making the announcement in class A. “Because all the participants who managed to come to Class A are already here. We'll just start now.”

The coach calls one by one the trainees and gives their re-evaluation cards and asks them to sit first before.

Ava saw the figure she knew before, she was the girl who talked to her. This girl is named Vivian Evans. Ava could see her worried and nervous face.

Ava didn't really care because she felt a bit unhappy with this woman for some reason. He felt uncomfortable near this woman before. So if he could, he didn't want to get in touch with her more.

Class A does not have many participants so the division process is quickly completed. “Because all have received their results, please for those who have to move to class F to move.” said Paris replacing the role of staff giving an announcement.

The atmosphere became tense because of this, everyone was secretly nervous and anticipated whether any trainees were descending to class F. Unexpectedly there was one of the trainees who stood up and came out of the room with their heads lowered.

Of course the faces of those who were in Class A got so bad seeing one of them even having to plunge into class F.

This process continued until it left only 5 original people from class A. The faces of all the remaining trainees became relieved after having to pass a difficult assessment.

Coach Paris nodded small while sighing long. “Now, since the reassessment is done, I will tell you a little announcement.” said Paris took out a paper and began to announce. “After this there will be a Center selection for the theme song. So please prepare 1 minute for our theme song recording within 6 hours.”

All the trainees in the room were surprised to hear that they had to prepare a 1-minute show in 6 hours. For them of course this was too sudden and rushed.

Sophie was also stunned to hear they had to train for a 1-minute selection show. He quietly swallowed his own saliva and felt nervous because of this. He glanced at Ava who was sitting next to him worriedly. But Ava did not see it and focused on the announcement given to them.

After all the tiring process, finally the trainees had time for a quiet lunch. Ava, who was tired, ate automatically and continued to bribe without responding to the crowd around her. Even occasionally, Ava eats with her eyes closed.

Sophie who was sitting next to Ava stared with a look of wonder. “Are you okay ?”

“I'm sleepy.” Ava replied briefly then continued eating quickly.

Sophie ate with worry as she still had to display another event after this. “Then do you already have plans for our 1 minute show after this ?”

Ava raised her head and shook her head slowly. “I'll go to sleep.”

Sophie was very surprised to hear Ava's very relaxed words. He was silent for a moment and speechless. He felt that they had to prepare for the 1-minute show well to be able to profit later.

Ava knows Sophie's worries about what to do later. “Just do it like when you're recording an evaluation. Add a little of your sweet charm. Like a smile and some sweet hands. Supposedly it will work.” said Ava gave a little enter. “You should rest first, it will be very tiring and it will definitely be very difficult to think clearly.”

Sophie nodded and found this to make sense. Therefore, he became more relaxed, but instead made him sleepy.
