Chapter 21: The First Encounter

“to be honest we were also very surprised when we saw you suddenly appear in the rap.” position said Nancy. “We thought you were prank on another trainee, but it turns out it was true.”

“Why don't you just take the dance ? Wouldn't as a dancer be more comfortable ?” crystal said

“I don't know the song, so don't want to do it.” replied Ava casually while laying herself on the wooden floor.

“When did you do battle dance with Producer Keegan, you also did not know most of the songs ?” hailey asked suspiciously. Ava turned her eyes away from Hailey and closed her eyes instead. “Hey, don't shy away. We want to know the reason.”

Hailey starts shaking Ava's body to get her to answer their questions. But Ava pretended to be dead and did not want to answer because this would definitely be a mockery of them later or even make them even more annoyed at him.

Nancy and Crystal joining Hailey begin to shake Ava's body with amused laughter. After a while, Ava finally couldn't stand it and opened her eyes while getting up to sit.

“Well I'll tell you.” said Ava with an annoyed face. “Because dancing is so tiring.”

The atmosphere became silent for a while, Nancy, Hailey and Crystal seemed frozen for a while, the three of them staring at each other and confused for a while after hearing Ava's reply.

“What did you say ?” Hailey wanted to make sure her hearing wasn't misheard.

“I didn't hear wrong did I?” ask Nancy while frowning.

Ava stared at the three alternately while being indifferent, “You didn't hear wrong,”

Hailey is in deep thought with Ava. “You're too lazy” he said fatly.

“I'm not lazy, just tired.” said Ava trying to defend herself.

“Isn't it the same?” ask Hailey

“Different. Lazy sign is not trying, Tired means already trying but do not have the energy to do it.” said Ava.

“But we are young now, why did you get tired first...” said Hailey.

Ava was silent to hear it. He did not answer or respond anymore, but he just looked at the three with a tired smile on his face. “I'll go wash your face first.”

Hailey wanted to say something but Ava had already stood up and walked out of the training room. Nancy, Crystal and Hailey looked at each other and felt so bad, they seemed to have touched something that should not have been touched.

Ava who was in the bathroom washed her face with water. At first she felt sleepy but ever since Hailey talked about it, she had become awake. He looked at his reflection in the glass while thinking.

The question from Hailey still flashed through his head but did not answer it earlier. But he clearly knew the answer in his heart.

Because he had worked hard long before the others worked hard.

Now he just wanted to take a break and enjoy what he was working on slowly. No hurry. Unlike before, it was full of suffering.

Ava washed her face back and went back to the training room with a wet but fresher face. He didn't bring up the thing they talked about earlier any further, because he didn't want anyone else to know about it.

“When will we meet with Zoo coach ?” ask Crystal.

“It should be this afternoon we will meet him.” replied Hailey who is their leader

Crystal nodded with a face full of determination, and continued muttering reciting the lyrics she had to sing. Nancy, who saw him, was nervous, this was her first time being the Center. This feeling makes him feel happy but also scared at the same time.

“Two of you, calm down.” said Hailey who saw the two start acting weird. “We do it pretty good, no need to worry too much. Precisely if you overdo it, it will make it easier for you to make mistakes.”

Ava nodded calmly, she agreed with Hailey's words.

“Then you guys have a way to calm down ?” ask Crystal.

“For that please ask Ava..” said Hailey then glanced at Ava who was very calm. Nancy and Crystal looked at Hailey strangely. “Don't look at me like that. I'm nervous too.”

Nancy looked at Hailey rather angrily then turned to look at Ava who was very calm. “Ava for your secret, why can you be so calm.”

“Your mentality is too good.”

The three stared at Ava waiting for an answer.

“Sit quietly.” said Ava who immediately followed the three swiftly. “Then think about it.. Meat on the grill with spicy hot sauce on the side.”.

The room became silent, Ava's words were too sudden that they were distracted.

That afternoon, Ava gathered with all the groups who chose Rap as a position in the larger training room, waiting for the Zoo coach to come. No one dared to sit while waiting, all of them stood waiting obediently. Ava stood at the very front while her friends stood at the back wanting to hide themselves nervously.

The zoo came not long after they waited. She used heavy makeup and a Leopard-patterned dress that made her even more fierce when seen. His aura also does not indicate he is playful or wants subtle words.

He sat down on a chair and swept the trainees standing in front of him. “Halo coach Zoo!” greet all the trainees in a loud voice to cover their nervousness.

Zoo's attention was distracted by Ava's striking figure in the middle of the line. “You came to Rap position. Nice work!” he said with a satisfied smile.

Ava becomes somewhat uncomfortable when the Zoo coach is excited by her presence. He returned a faint smile at the Zoo coach while looking down in embarrassment.

“Well, since you came to Rap position you should know that you can't mess around.” Zoo explained from the beginning. “I want you to learn well, ask when you don't know, but don't become lazy when asked to train harder.”

“Your time is a week to train before your performance, one day has passed and I hope as a coach you have tried earlier before today.” Zoo said some things he wal as palatih, although his carrier is rather creepy and loud. But he was also a person who cared about his students. “Now, let's get started. First team, ‘RunAway’”

The four trainees advanced forward somewhat timidly holding the paper in their hands in suspense.

“Live it.” says Zoo doesn't want to mince words anymore.

The four nervously started rapping in turn. They make pretty good lyrics, the rhythm is also pretty good, they are also quite compact. But unfortunately the Zoo coach was a bit unhappy, he just kept quiet and did not praise when they finished with their rap.

“Is this your workout result?” ask the Zoo coach in a calm tone.

The atmosphere instantly became tense as the Zoo coach asked the question. Ava who listened to him also felt that something was a bit wrong. It felt like there was less but he did not intend to comment any further.

“I don't understand what you guys have been doing for quite some time this ?” ask the Zoo coach to the four coaches standing around twisting their shirts. “Do not you think, because it is already in an area that you are better at, you can relax and underestimate.”

The four trainees bowed in apology. “Inspect us coach.”

“For what to apologize ?” ask the Zoo coach coldly. “You should apologize to the fans who voted for you here today. They gathered the determination to vote for you but you don't appreciate it like this.” he said angrily. “Trainee Ava Luna, come forward here!”

Ava turned her eyes in shock at hearing that. He stepped forward with a sense of bewilderment as he was suddenly asked to come forward.

“Practice it correctly.” coach Zoo said while giving Ava a lyric paper in anger.

The paper contains several lines of lyrics belonging to the group of four people. Coach Zoo handed him the paper and asked Ava to take it first. “Do.” Coach Zoo said once again.

Ava read it for a while while recalling the rhythm she had previously listened to when the team was practicing it. After five minutes, he nodded at Zoo's coach and began to rap.

Ava's face while doing rap is very flat, but the tone and rhythm are right even make people who hear it goosebumps. At first glance it sounds the same when compared to the four people who rap before him, but the effect caused by Ava is much stronger even though only a piece of rap.

The four trainee participants could only nod obediently and record them on their respective papers. Ava glanced, trying to find the right time to return the paper in her hand that was like a hot potato now.

Ava nodded lightly and then handed the paper in her hand back to Coach Zoo. Once the paper in her hand had been returned, Ava intended to return to its place, but Coach Zoo stopped her.

Ava was silent on the spot, the four trainees who had been in grades thanked her and sat back in her place. While Ava's group advanced forward nervously. Especially Crystal who is doing rap for the first time.

“Just start.”

Hailey looked at her team-mates and nodded simultaneously. It was only Nancy who first opened the song with her rap that was not so loud but very stable. Nancy did so stably regardless of the gaze the keen Zoo coach noticed them once in a while.

After Nancy's rap, Hailey continued with a stronger rap adding a sense of excitement for those who heard it. Rap Hailey is always stronger and brings people who hear her to be excited and swayed even though there is no musical accompaniment.

Ava provided a good liaison for the group and still brought the same style of Hailey but was more refined. So when Cystal, who knows how to rap, is not too contrasting and instead has his own distinctive style that is very interesting.

At the end of the day they are great for groups that are very contrasting with each other. Nancy and Ava provide a good balance to the group so that people who hear them doing the show do not feel strange.

Coach Zoo once the song fell silent as they finished performing their show. He tapped on his paper board while thinking. “Very good, although there is still a lot to fix.” he said while nodding. “Particularly you.. Your rap is still the weakest of the others. I know it's your first time doing rap but it's been pretty good. Expand exercise.” said.

Crystal who was criticized smiled happily because he was not in a tight chirp. He was already happy because his efforts had been appreciated even though there were still many flaws. In the future he tried and trained harder so that not the future meeting he could be better.

Ava, Hailey, Nancy and Crystal all sat back down after thanking her. They smiled happily and saw each other share happiness.

The class of the day went smoothly for Ava's group, among other groups, they were among the most fun and did not fight for each other's positions.

Their training days were filled with fun. Sometimes Hailey even invites Ava to argue but is faced with no more than a few sentences.

“You can this make more sense ? Don't be too lazy like now ?” asked Hailey who saw Ava lying on the training floor.

Ava is enjoying a period of laziness that she rarely gets. He did Rap exercises even teaching Crystal while lying on the floor.

“I'm not lazy. I did the exercise.” Ava said without moving.

“But you've been lying down all day like this. Other than going out to eat, you didn't move at all.” Hailey said angrily.

“I did the exercises.” said Ava calmly was not afraid at all.

“What exercises do you actually do ha ?” ask Hailey.

Nancy and Crystal who were watching from the side held their laughter. This sight they had seen for several days. Hailey always scolded Ava who was lying lazily on the floor without moving unless she set up a formation for their show. In short Ava has never sweated at all these past few days.

“You!” Hailey doesn't know what to scold Ava for. Dai could only sigh long resignedly. Although Ava was not lazy, but seeing her lying on the floor like that made her want to scold him.

A knock was heard from the door and Sophie's head was seen looking into the room. “You're still practicing ?” tanyakanya.

“No, we are resting.” replied Nancy.

Sophie immediately cheered happily and opened the door to open wider. Friends of Sophie's group from behind are seen entering the room.

“We come play. Ava! Did you hear.” Sophie said in high spirits.

“I listened.” Ava replied without moving from her position.

Sophie looked at Hailey, Nancy and Crystal trying to ask what really happened. “Why is he lying down like this?” tanyakanya.

Sydney who had been silent, laughed softly at Hailey's tired tone. He was the leader of the group this time so he knew Hailey's feelings. “Does he not want to practice ?”

“Not so, he is practicing and very cooperative for training. But he always lies down like this when practicing.” Hailey replied.

“It's good. What's the problem ?” sydney was confused.

“I always felt young people should be full of passion, but look at this girl.” Hailey said in an inexhaustible manner. “Seeing very lazy.”

Sophie looked at Ava who closed her eyes not wanting to participate in their conversation. He felt alien to Ava who was now for a while. It felt like he had never seen Ava in this kind of posture.

Sophie crouched down near Ava's head while whispering softly. “Really rarely see you like this.” he said

“Um... It is very rare.” reply Ava slowly.

“You consider this a holiday right?” asked Sophie in amusement.

Ava could only smile amusedly and open her eyes looking at Sophie. “You know me better than anyone.”

“Of course, seeing lying down like this is very rare. Usually you always run around here and there doing various things.”

“Indeed this is a very precious moment.” Ava said as she looked at Sophie.

“Then enjoy it well, after this we will probably work harder.” Sophie said.

“What are you guys talking about?” sydney asked to see Ava and Sophie whispering to each other.

“Nothing, I just asked him not to be too lazy like now. Poor Hailey.” Sophie said.

“Thanks very much you guys understand my feelings.” Hailey said a little touched.

“Have you completed the arrangement ?” ava asked as she got up to sit, she was cross-legged on the floor staring at the Sydney group.

“Of course!” sophie shouted back excited.

“Coach praised us yesterday.” Sydney was quite pleased with the Coach's praise yesterday.

Nancy looked at them confused. “Aransemen ? Ava know about this ?”

“We practiced since yesterday and got bored. So we played here.” said Sophie picked up the guitar and gave it to Ava.

“Why give it to me?” ask Ava confused.

“Because only you can play guitar.” Sophie replied and forced Ava's cuddly guitar.

Ava fell silent and watched her friends sit in a circle waiting for Ava's accompaniment. He only let out a long sigh and started strumming the song after four beats on the guitar wall to unlock the song.

Yaol opened the song in a soft voice that perfectly matched the accompaniment of a light song like a guitar. Every now and then in his part, Sydney adds a little. Sometimes Sophie also tambhkan make the atmosphere of the song is very good.

When it was Sophie's turn or something, they chimed in occasionally like Ava's example at the beginning. They sing so beautifully and so compactly. The guitar sound a bit quiet, but with four people who enliven with light applause and a flick of a finger adds to the mood of the song. Now when they join forces to sing this song nothing really stands out but everything completes the song into a complete song.

They are more like schoolchildren singing with their friends without any burden, without competition and mutual support.

“You are so good” praise Nancy with pleasure. “It's a very suitable arrangement type!”

“It feels like going back to school, it's so good to be able to play and understand each other like this.” said Hailey who was excited.

“I agree, when Ava gives advice like this. We feel this is a great way.” Sara said.

“I have to admit Ava is very genius thinking of arrangements like this.” said Sydney.

Ava could only smile, who heard her directly lowering the guitar from her lap. “I'll go to the toilet first.”

“It seems not a good thing to remember the past.” Sophie said sadly after washing her face. “As much as we are not so beautiful.” said her in a moody tone.

Ava did not answer and just kept quiet. He looked in the mirror and saw her face, which is often said to be very beautiful. But sometimes it was his face that brought a lot of trouble for him.

“It feels like yesterday right Ava ?” sophie said then looked at Ava's flat face in the mirror.  “At that time, you also looked at me like this first. At first I thought it was really annoying to see this kind of expression. But after I thought about it again, this expression also saved me that time.”

Ava could only smile and look down. Their meeting memory is indeed very unique and different from others. It feels like their meeting is very special.

“It feels like just yesterday. You call me an arrogant and heartless.” Ava said with a faint smile on Sopihe.

Sophie smiled ironically. “After being thought again, it felt more like I was very arrogant back then.”

Ava could only laugh amusedly hearing it. “If I had no heart, we wouldn't be friends now.”

Sophie straightened her face. Ava's words are not wrong, if she has no heart, she can't help her, help her, support her and can't be her best friend now.

Slowly he approached Ava while staring seriously. “I owe you Ava. I can't help you much. But I'll make sure I'm the one standing up for you when everyone turns you down.”

Ava could only squint and smile gently. “Of course I know it.”
