WHEN the news of the incident that occurred in the contest in the Kingdom of Panchala arrived in Hastinapura, Widura was very happy. It soon
facing Destarata. He said: "My lord, our family will grow stronger. The daughter of King Drupada has become our son-in-law. This time the lucky stars are overshadowing us."
Destarata thought that her son had won the competition. Indeed, Duryudana went to follow the contest.
Therefore, he replied: "True what you said. This is a good time for us. Go immediately and boyong Drupadi come here. We're going to have a grand welcoming ceremony for the princess of Panchala Kingdom."
Widura immediately cleared up the misunderstanding. He said: "The blessed Pandavas are still alive. Arjun is the one who succeeded
the daughter of King Drupada. The five Pandavas had married the princess together and their marriage had been considered valid because it was in accordance with the literary scriptures.
Together with Dewi Kunti, they live happily under the protection of King Drupada." Hearing Widura's explanation, Destarata was very
disappointed, but he tried to cover it up.
He said to Widura with a contrived sense of joy: "Widura, I'm glad to hear your story. So, the Pandavas are still alive? Atbal we have been carrying out mourning ceremonies for them. The news that you tell is like water that cools my heart. Thus, the daughter of King Drupada is now our daughter-in-law? Thank goodness, thank goodness."
Duryudana's malice and hatred multiplied when he heard from his father that the Pandavas were still alive.
Apparently they escaped the fire of the wooden palace in Waranawata. After living undercover for several years, now they become stronger because they are under the protection of the Kingdom of Panchala.
Duryudana invited his sister Dursasana to meet his uncle Sengkuni. Sorrowfully he said; "Uncle, we have failed. We have failed because we believe in Purochana. Our enemies are much smarter than us. Moreover, the goddess of luck was more on their side. Now Dristadyumna and Srikandi became their allies. So, what can we do?"
Karna and Duryudana went to the blind king of Destarata. He said: "Ayahanda, you have told Vidura that our future will be better. Does this good future mean that our enemy, the Pandavas, is becoming stronger and will one day destroy us? We failed to destroy them. Even more dangerous is the fact that they already know our plans. We don't have a choice anymore. We destroy them now or those who come destroy us first. Please guide Ayahanda."
Destarata replied: "My son, what you say is true. We must not, however, let Widura know our thoughts. That's why I talk to him like that. Now, I want to hear about your next plan"
Duryudana said:
"My mind is very messy. I have no plans at all. Maybe we can complain to them. Were they born of two mothers? We make Madri's children hate Kunti's children. In addition, we persuade Drupada to join us. That he had given his daughter
in a marriage with the Pandavas, that in no way hinders our intention to invite him to join our side. Without
treasure and wealth, they can't do anything."
Karna smiled and said: "Plan in vain."
Duryudana continued: "After all we must ensure that they do not come here and demand their right to the kingdom. We can put some brahmins to spread false news in Panchala. We also need to say that the Pandavas will face great danger, if they dare to return to Hastinapura. Thus, they will
afraid to come here and we're safe from them."
She replied: "That's bullshit, too. We can't scare them that way.
Duryudana continued: "Can we create division between them, by utilizing Drupadi? Didn't the five of them marry one wife? We can use that marriage. We must create doubt and jealousy among them with the help of the experts of romance. We'll make it. We can enlist the help of the romance peddlers to tease the Kunti children and thus, make Drupadi jealous. If Drupadi had started suspecting them,
we can invite him to Hastinapura and we can use him."
Karna laughed mockingly. He said: "All your plans will fail. We cannot conquer the Pandavas with such a ruse. When they were young, like a bird that can't fly, we can't fool them.
Now, once they become experienced and protected Drupada, do you still think we can fool them? They will easily guess the course of your plan. We cannot spread the seeds of division between them. There is no way a wise Drupada would be bribed. He could not have attacked the Pandavas for any reason. Nor can we possibly persuade Drupadi to betray them. Therefore, the only way available to us is to carry out attacks, before they become stronger and friendly countries become their allies. We must attack them suddenly before Krishna and the armies of Yadavas join. We attack them openly, like a knight. The ruse will only be in vain
After Karna finished talking, Destarata still could not make a decision. Therefore, he sent them to Bhishma and Durna for advice.
Bhisma was very pleased to hear that the Pandavas were still alive and under the protection of King Drupada, in-laws
them. When asked for advice about the steps that need to be taken, Bhisma is wise and full of knowledge about what is
right and wrong, he replied: "The right step is to let them return and divide the kingdom in two.
The government wants that too. That is the only way to preserve the dignity of our family. There are many grapevine
invited the Pandavas back home and half the kingdom was given to them. That's my advice."
Durna also gave the same advice and suggested that messengers be sent to deliver a message about the peaceful resolution of the problem.
Hearing such advice, Karna rode apitam. He was a very loyal supporter of Duryudana. It was hard for him to imagine handing over half the kingdom to the Pandavas. He said to Destarata: "Hamba was astonished by Durna's suggestion, he had accepted
a gift of wealth and dignity from your Majesty, but the advice is just like that. A king must ponder carefully and carefully before accepting or rejecting him"
Hearing Karna's words, Durna's heart was hot: "The bottom of the wretched man! You have advised your king to tread the wrong path. If Destarata does not listen to Bhishma's advice and mine, soon Kaurava will be doomed "
Then, Destarata asked Widura for advice. Widura replied: "The advice that Bhishma gave, the guardian of our family, and the advice of Durna, our great master, were wise and just. Please do not ignore it. Do not forget that the Pandavas are your own children, just as Duryudana and
his brothers. Those who advise us to attack the Pandavas will only put this nation into
ravines. Both Drupada and his son and Krishna and the Yadavas were allies of the Pandavas. We are not possible
conquer them in battle. Karna's advice was erroneous and rash. Everywhere people already know that we once tried to kill them by burning wooden palaces. Instead, we clean ourselves first from that prejudice.
The people and the whole country were overjoyed to hear the Pandavas were still alive and they wanted to see them. Don't listen to Duryudana's words. Sengkuni and Karna were young. They
not yet understood the ins and outs of state order. They are not worthy of advice. Follow Bhishma's advice."
In the end, Destarata decided to pursue the path of peace by giving half the kingdom. He sent Widura
go to Panchala to pick up Pandavas and Drupadi.
Widura immediately rushed towards the capital of Panchala. He brought with him gold jewels and other precious gifts.
Arriving at Panchala, Widura worshipped the honor of King Drupada. In the name of King Destarata, he pleaded for the king
deign to send Pandavas and Drupadi to Hastinapura.
The Drupada who did not believe in Widura simply replied: "I have no power over the Pandavas, let them decide
by yourself."
Widura immediately faced and handed all the decisions to Dewi Kunti. He said: "Princess Wicitrawirya, you have
saving children. Therefore, they are your children as well. I trust you. I'll obey what you say. " However, he is still suspicious of the evil intentions of the Destarata.
Widura assured Kunti: "Your children will not be met with destruction. They will inherit the kingdom and gain greatness. Let us go" In the end, Drupada also gave their blessing to go to Hastinapura.
The people welcomed their arrival with great joy. The streets of Hastinapura are sprinkled with holy water and decorated with various kinds of flowers. As it was decided, the Destarata divided the kingdom in two, half given to the Pandavas. Yudhistira was crowned king.
Destarata gave his blessing to the newly crowned king and gave advice:
"My brother Pandu has made this kingdom prosperous and prosperous. May you prove yourself as a successor
his majesty. In the past, Pandu enjoyed listening to my advice. Like your father, listen to my advice too. My own children are arrogant and evil. I have decided on this peaceful solution so that there will be no more strife or hatred between you all. Go to Kandawaprastha and build the capital
the kingdom there. Long ago, our ancestors Pururawa, Nahusha, and Yayati ruled the kingdom from there. Kandawaprastha first
it is the capital of this kingdom. Wake up and make it famous."
With those words, Destarata gave loving advice to Yudhishthira. They rebuilt the capital and the palace from the rubble that remains. The name of the capital was changed to Indraprasta. The city grew into a beautiful, prosperous, and much admired city. The Pandavas ruled
the kingdom was for thirty-six years along with the Goddess
Kunti and Drupadi. They always practice the Dharma.
