MAHABARATA
EPISODE 2

With a carefree heart, the king welcomed and brought the son to the palace. The child surrounded by an aura of majesty and youth is crowned crown prince.

Four years later. One day, the king took a walk on the banks of the Yamuna river. Suddenly the air spread an incredible fragrance. The king seeks the source of fragrance. It turns out that the source came from a beautiful girl, as beautiful as a heavenly angel. Thanks to the kindness of a sage, such an incredible fragrance would always flow out from the girl's body and now the entire forest became fragrant due to the girl's presence.

After the death of Dewi Gangga, King Sentanu always tried to resist desire and lust. However, the beauty of the girl made her lose control and carried away by the overflowing passion of romance. King Sentanu asked the girl to be his queen.

The beautiful girl said: "Open the King, my name is Setyawati. I'm a fish catcher. My father was the chief fisherman in this area. Please Your Majesty discuss your request with father. May he receive your proposal." His voice looks at his body.

   The girl's father was clever.

He said: "My lord, it is time for my servant's daughter to marry a man, like any other girl. Your majesty may ask for it. However, before the servant please your majesty will promise in front of the servant.

Said King Sentanu: "whatever conditions you apply I will fulfill."

The fisherman's head pleaded: "If the son of the servant gives birth to a son, the majesty must make him crown prince.

Despite being romantically attached to Setyawati, King Sentanu was unable to accept Setyawati's father's terms. He realized that this would mean removing Dewabrata, the god-like son of Dewi Gangga, from the position of crown prince. A price too embarrassing to bear. Therefore, he returned to the palace of Hastinapura. His feelings are mixed not because of. The king kept his secret meeting. He kept his heart in restlessness. He shuts himself up a lot and daydreams.

One day, Dewabrata asked his father: "he has everything anyone could possibly want. But why does Father seem so moody? It seems, Ayahanda is keeping a heartbreaking secret."

Dewabrata believes there must be a secret reason that disturbs the peace of his father's heart. Then he asked his father's train. Then he found out about his father's meeting with a fishing girl on the banks of the river Yamuna. Then he went to the butler and asked his daughter for her father.

The chief fisherman received it with respect, but remained adamant on his condition: "actually the servant girl deserves to be the queen of the father of Paduka. Therefore, is it not natural that his son would succeed him as king? But the majesty has been crowned crown prince and thus will succeed him. Here's the problem."

Devabrata replied: "Alright, please remember my words well, the boy your daughter gave birth to will be crowned king. I was willing not to ascend the throne for the father's wish to continue the family lineage." Then, Devabrata began to utter his vows.

Afterwards, the fisherman's head said, "Wahai, the wisest crown prince among all the descendants of the bharata, who was born, the lord has done something that the heirs to the throne have never done until now. Master is a hero. Please you bring a servant girl to be married to my master's father. Nevertheless, please my master continue to listen patiently to the words of this servant as the father of my daughter I am sure my master will keep his promise. But, what can I use to strengthen the hope that my master's children will not claim their rights? My master's descendants will definitely become great heroes, like my master. It would definitely be hard to resist if they attempted to seize the kingdom by force. This is the problem that disturbs the mind of the servant."

Listening to the extremely difficult questions posed by the girl father of her father's cult, uttered the ultimate vow. He swore before the girl's father: "I promise not to marry and to live the sanctity of my life." When Devabrata made his sacred vows, the gods sowed flowers over his head and voices that were bewildering, "Bhisma... Bhishma... Bhishma..." Since then, Dewabrata has been known as Bhisma.

Thus, the son of Dewi Batari Gangga brought Setyawati to Hastinapura for his father.

From his marriage to Setyawati, King Sentanu had two sons, chitrangada and wicitrawirya. Wicitrawirya became king in his brother's place. Wicitrawirya had two children, Destarata and Pandu, from both empresses, ambika and ambalika. The sons of Destarata number one hundred known as the Kauravas. Pandu has five children known as Pandavas.

Bhishma lived a long life. He was honored as a family elder until the great war in Medan gusietra.
