MAHABARATA

MAHABARATA
EPISODE 19'S. JARASANDA

PANDAWA ruled Indraprasta with all greatness. The people around Yudhisthira urged him to hold the Rajasuya ceremony and take the title "maharaja". It seems clear that, even in ancient times, colonization was an attraction

which is hard to resist.

For this reason, Yudhishthira wanted to seek the advice of Lord Krishna. When Dharmaputra finds out he wants to meet her, he immediately spurs on her

the train is headed to Indraprasta.

Yudhishthira said: "My brothers and advisers urged me to perform the Rajasuya ceremony. However, it is not only the king who is respected and loved by his people who can perform the ceremony and get the title of emperor. I'm asking for your advice. You are one of those who are not blinded by love

to be able to give thorough and unpleasant advice."

Krishna replied: "It is true. That is the reason why you cannot be emperor while Jarasanda, the powerful Magadha king of the mandraguna is still alive and undefeated. He conquered many kings and captured them. All knights

including Sisupala who is respected, afraid of his power and submit to him. Have you heard of Kamsa,

Ugrasena's son? After he became Jarasanda's son-in-law and ally me and my people attacked Jarasanda. After three years of constant fighting, we had to admit defeat and were forced to leave Madhura, moving to Dwaraka in the west. There, we built a new capital and now we live in peace and prosperity. Even if Duryudana, Karna, and others

no objection to the ceremony, I'm sure Jarasanda will oppose. The only way to overcome the challenge is to defeat and kill him Thus, you can not only perform the Rajasuya ceremony but also gain the support of the kings he conquered."

Yudhishthira replied: "I agree with you. I was one of the kings who ruled well, justly, and lived a happy life without indulgence. Only a king who was mad of glory and wanted to boast wanted to be

maharaja Why can not a king be satisfied and happy with his own kingdom? I'd better forget the desire to

become maharaja. I'm not interested in that title. My brothers want it. You are just afraid of

Jarasanda, what else are we?

Bima absolutely does not like people who are weak and quickly complacent.

He said: "The highest virtue of a king is ambition. What is the point of being a strong man, if he himself does not know his strength?

I cannot accept a life of self-limiting and complacency. Anyone who can remove his own weakness and can use the strategy of power properly can surely defeat the enemy, who is far more powerful though. Strength

without hesitation, we can definitely defeat Jarasanda."

Then kara Krishna: Jarasanda must be conquered and he deserved to die Arbitrarily, he captured eighty

king La planned to sacrifice 100 kings for the offering ceremony. Therefore, he intended to capture fourteen more kings. If

bima and Arjuna agreed, I will accompany them with a proper strategy, together we will conquer the king and free all the kings he conquered. I like this suggestion."

Yudhishthira was not happy with the proposal. He said: "It means sacrificing Bima and Arjuna, which are like my two eyes, just to satisfy the desire to get the title of emperor. I don't want to send them for this dangerous task. We better forget this plan."

Arjuna said: "What good is it for us to be born as knights if we never do valiant deeds? An

the knight, though endowed with extraordinary devotion, would not have become famous, if it had never proven his power. Spirit is the essence of success. Good fortune will come to us if we do our duty and duty in earnest. In fact, even a strong person can fail if hesitant to use the abilities he has. Most people fail because they ignore their own power. We know we have power. We are not afraid to use that power. Why do you think we can't do it? Later, when it is old, it will be time to put on the holy robe, ascetic in the forest, fast, and spend the rest of life to atone for sins. Now, we must live a life of hardship and perform the actions of officers in accordance with our family traditions.

Krishna was delighted to hear Arjuna's words. He said: "Moreover what can be said of Arjuna, son of Kunti and descendant of the House of Bharata? Everyone dies, no matter if he's a hero or a coward. The ultimate duty of a knight is to serve his nation and his faith, conquering the enemy in the war for truth.

In the end, Yudhishthira was able to accept their opinion that conquering Jarasanda was a knight's duty.

The talk shows that in ancient times people also used good-sounding excuses to conquer other nations. More or less the same as the modern view.
