MANDAWYA is a sage who gains soul power and has a deep knowledge of the scriptures. He ascended in the forest and exercised the virtues as the sacred teaching says.He lived in a hermitage in the middle of the forest. One day while he was fervently meditating under a shady tree outside his cottage, a band of robbers broke into his hermitage. They fled from the pursuit of the royal army. They thought they would be safe in the hermitage. They keep the spoils and hide. Meanwhile, the royal army followed in their footsteps to reach the hermitage.
The commander of the royal army asked the solemnly imprisoned Desi Mandawya, in an inexorable tone of command: "O ascetic, do you see a band of robbers? Which way are they going? Quickly answer! Let us catch them soon!" The reclusive Misi Mandawya did not answer. The commander repeated his question harshly.
But the solemn sage remained silent a thousand languages. Meanwhile, some troops entered into the hermitage and
conduct searches. They found the loot. They immediately report to the commander of the force, Men-
hearing the report, the commander sent his troops in and conducted a search. And it was true, they found booty and robbers in hiding.
The commander of the army said: "Now, I understand why this brahmin pretended to be silent and solemn in his time, He is actually the leader of the bandits. He's the brains of the robbery. Then, the commander told his troops to surround
the hermitage, while he went to the king and reported that the Desi Mandawya was captured along with the belongings
the robbery.
The king was very angry with the boldness of the robber chief who dared to disguise himself as a respected sage. Without checking the veracity of the report, the king immediately sentenced him to torture with a spear.
The commander of the army returned to the hermitage. He ordered his troops to torture the rishis with spears. Then, they returned to the palace with the robbery items.
Even though his body was torn apart by spears, the holy sage did not die. Thanks to the power of yoga, he lives on. The news of the holy rishis soon spread. The hermits who lived around the hermitage came. They asked him why he was suffering so much.
Resi Mandawya replied: "Who is to blame? The king's army only carries out their duty, which is to protect the people from evil."
Heard that the rishis who were tortured with spears were still alive and that he was being mobbed by forest hermitages
that, the king was very surprised and became anxious. He immediately rushed with his army towards the forest. The king ordered
the rishi was lowered from the spear. While kneeling in worship, the king asked for forgiveness for the heinous deeds he commanded.
The Desi Mandawya was not angry at the king at all. He immediately confronts the Begawan Dharma, the preacher of Divine justice, who is
sitting on his throne. He asked: "What evil has the servant done so that the servant receives such punishment
Begawan Dharma, who knew the devotion of the Desi Mandawya, replied cautiously: "Resi Mandawya, you have been torturing birds and bees. Whether you do not know all the deeds, whether they be good or evil, whatever little, will surely gain
the right reward."
Resi Mandawya was surprised to hear Begawan Dharna's reply, Tanyanya: "When did I do that deed?"
Begawan Dharma replied: "When you were a child."
Desi Mandawya then said a curse to Begawan Dharma: "The punishment you gave is outrageous. Overly
exaggeration for a child who doesn't know anything. Therefore, you will be born in the world to be human.
The Dharma Begawan who was cursed by Resi Mandawya later incarnated as Widura, the servant of Ambalika, the wife of King Wicitrawirya.
This story is to say that Widura is the incarnation of Begawan Dharma. World leaders honor Widura as
a very capable mahatma in the knowledge of dharma, literary books, and statehood.he has no ambition and never gets angry. Bhisma made him his chief advisor when he was a teenager.
Begawan Wiyasa described Widura as the most knowledgeable and wisest person in all three worlds. When the King of Destarata allowed his sons to gamble dice, Widura immediately rested at the king's feet saying: "My lord the King, the servant does not approve of the decision. My Lord's sons will only quarrel and quarrel over gambling. Please reconsider."
Prabu Destarata also tries in various ways to stop his evil son. He said: "Don't
do that game. Widura - who is wise and deeply knowledgeable and clean of any ambition - does not approve of it. He said the game would only cause bitter disputes and disputes and could destroy families
and our kingdom. But Duryudana had turned a deaf ear to his father's advice. His love for his son made King Destarat powerless to refuse their request. In fact, he sent
an invitation asking Yudhistira to join the dice gambling.
