#175 - Buried Dark Secrets

Nathan is so grateful to have found Sheila. Roy wanted Nathan to hold a press conference on Sheila's return. Of course, a furore was created when he found the person who had died was still alive.

Sheila was surprised that Lian had called out to her. Lian asks Sheila to meet Mira and her son.

"Let's meet Mira and Karel."

Sheila nodded and approached Mira who was with Nathan.

"Ah, here we go!" mira looked at Sheila.

"You're very lucky that you're still safe from the bad guy" Mira said.

Sheila just glanced at her smile. Somehow Sheila did not like the attitude of Mira that seemed too made up.

Sheila and Nathan return to the room to rest after all the guests return to their homes. Sheila felt tired and relieved, because she could feel the warmth with her family again.

Sheila prepares a change of clothes for Nathan who is in the bathroom. Sheila looked at Nathan's room. It was as if he hadn't been here in a long time since they lived in America.

Nathan came out of the bathroom fresh and fit. He looked at Sheila who was already sitting on their bed.

"Darling, have you taken a shower?" ask Nathan.

Nathan changed his clothes and went up to the bed. He hugged his wife whom he loved very much.

"Master Su!" call Sheila in Nathan's arms.

"Hmm, what's wrong?"

"Who exactly is Mira's sister?"

Nathan let go of his embrace. She looked at Sheila Lamat.

"Why is that?" ask Nathan.

"Eitherway. I feel like he's not a good person. His gaze upon you and our family .. seems to have a hidden meaning. Does this family have any problems with him?" Sheila was trying to figure out what she was thinking.

Nathan took a deep breath and then got out of bed. He went to his bookcase and took an old photo album.

Nathan returned to bed and opened the photo album.

"I'm sorry if I had to tell you this. Every family must have a dark time on its journey. So too with this family. We had a lot of problems decades ago."

Sheila looked at the photo on the old album. He listened to Nathan's stories.

"The founder of the Avicenna Group was Donald Avicenna. He was my great-grandfather. Grandpa Donald has two sons."

"Two?" Sheila's surprised. "Isn't it just Grandpa Dandy?"

Nathan looked at his wife. "Everyone knows that Donald's grandfather's son is Dandy's grandfather. But he actually has two sons. Donald's grandfather is divorced and his first son is taken by his ex-wife, Emila's grandmother. Donald's grandfather's first son was named Denny. He is the grandfather of Brother Devan, the late husband of brother Mira."

Nathan nodded. "We don't know where Emila's grandmother lived with Denny's grandfather. Grandfather Dandy also had no idea where his brother was all along."

"Then how can you meet now?"

"Papa searches for their whereabouts after Dandy's grandfather's death. But it's all still in vain. After that, Boy continued the investigation. It turns out that during this time brother Devan founded a company called Avintech. It's a relic from Denny's grandfather."

Sheila rubbed her husband's back. Nathan closes the old photo album and puts it on the nightstand.

The roar of lightning made a little girl who was asleep suddenly wake up from her sleep. The swift rain that hit the earth made him pull the blanket but his eyes could not be closed again.

The little girl looked for the whereabouts of her father who usually fell asleep beside her.

"Mr!" call the little girl because she doesn't find her father in the room.

"Mr!" The girl called her father back.

He heard two people talking outside the room. He knew it was his father's voice and someone's voice.

The little girl rubbed her eyes and came down from her simple bed.

"Who is he?" muttered the little girl who was peeking behind the door. He tried to eavesdrop on his father's conversation.

"Tomorrow in the morning lest you fail! Or I'll take this money back. Understood?!" said a man handed an envelope to the girl's father.

The little girl squinted her eyes. After the two men had spoken, the man left the little girl's house.

The girl's father was about to head to the room but was startled by the girl's presence in front of him.

"Merlina! Why are you here, son?" ask the father.

"Who is that man, sir?" ask the little girl named Merlin.

"Nobody! Let's go to bed again. You should go to school tomorrow!" The father told Merlin to go back to the room.

"Remember yes, sir. Merlin doesn't want you involved in crime anymore. We have had enough of this suffering. Don't add to Merlin's burden, sir!"

The father just shook his head slowly to hear his daughter's words. This 10-year-old girl does have adult thoughts beyond her age. He was lucky to have Merlin in his life.
