#177 - Villains and Angels

Merlin woke up in the morning and felt his body stiffen. Tonight he and his father slept on the living room sofa which can be said to be far from comfortable.

His father said the rich man's geeky son had to sleep in their room to give him comfort. Merlin just sighed. He did not want to be involved in the crimes committed by his father and his friends.

Merlin prepared breakfast. There is only bread without jam and butter. He was grateful to be able to eat well. Merlin found no presence at home. Merlin thought his father must have gone somewhere.

After breakfast, Merlin prepares to go to school. He still could not hear any sound from his bedroom. The small tenement was far from decent. But Merlin must be able to hold on for himself.

Sometimes Merlin wants to go back to his mother's village. But ever since his mother died, his father insisted on taking Merlin to town. His father thought they would change their fate while living in the city, but in fact their lives were still difficult. Merlin was lucky to be able to attend school for free because there were scholarships for poor students.

Merlin, who was ready for the school, went into the room and saw Giga still curled up on the bed. Merlin woke up the boy.

"Hey, wake! Is it as comfortable as sleeping in someone else's place?" Merlin nudged Giga's shoulder.

The boy opened his eyes. He took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes.

"I couldn't sleep last night. And I only slept for a few hours" said Giga, looking down.

"It's your breakfast! Eat up! At least you have to stay alive if you want to survive" said Merlin.

Giga ventured to look at Merlin. "Who are you? Are you also the kidnapper's plot?"

Merlin Stares at Giga. "I'm not a kidnapper. But my father kidnapped you."

"Well?!"

"But you just calm down. I'm not as bad as my father. I don't even like the way this works."

"Then? What are you gonna do?" ask Giga.

"I want to help you. But I don't know how to."

Giga was stunned staring at Merlin. "You want to help me? You're going to fight your father?"

Merlin nodded.

"So, your father was a criminal, and you're an angel. That so?"

"Whatever you want to call me. Now you eat! I have to go to school."

"Wait on! Please accompany me to eat here" Pinta Giga.

Merlin looked at Giga. He thought for a moment. "All right."

They both sat on the floor. Giga hesitantly took the fresh bread that Merlin had brought.

"Don't worry. The bread I don't give poison to."

Finally Giga ate it voraciously. Merlin noticed Giga's appearance which did look different to him.

"How old are you?" chirps Merlin.

"Twelve years."

"really? Twelve years and you've been wearing glasses that thick?" asked Merlin in disbelief.

"It's because I learned so much" Giga replied with a mouthful of bread.

"Studying?" Merlin held back his laughter. "What does a twelve-year-old learn, huh?"

"Much! I learned about business and everything else. You alone? how old areyou? You're still wearing a red and white uniform, which means you're my age, right?"

"yeah. I'm almost your age. You're done eating, right? Then I have to go. You stay here. I'll figure out a way to save you from here."

Giga stared at Merlin's departure with nanar. Now he must return alone in this unknown home.

"Dad... The Mother... Help me!" lirih Giga's.

Sheila was lying weakly in bed thinking about Giga still out there. Sheila was very afraid something might happen to her son.

In a time of everyone's anxiety, Nathan came up with some pretty good news. He manages to find the motorcycle used to kidnap Giga.

Nathan also managed to find surveillance footage around the scene. Sheila began to breathe a sigh of relief. But it turns out that the tracks traced Nathan are still unclear.

The motorcycle was found lying in a warehouse and there was no one to question. Sheila asks Nathan to bring her son back.

"You calm down! Pray for us to find Giga soon."

Sheila nodded. "Yes, Mr. Su. Please find our son. If necessary, we give a lot of money to them to immediately return Giga."

"Darling, they didn't even call me. It's almost 24 hours and they haven't called."

"It doesn't seem like it, baby. You don't worry. I'll definitely find our son."

Sheila hugs Nathan. In hope they always pray that Giga is fine out there.

Merlin returns home and sees that the geeky boy his father has kidnapped is being taken out of the house. The boy looked up and asked to be released.

His hands were tied and his eyes were covered with cloth. Merlin was anxious to think about where the men would take the boy.

"Where are they taking him?" merlin muttered.

A car took the boy away. While his father had just received payment for the services he had done.

"Mr!" shouted Merlin.

"Merlin's? You're home from school?"

"Where are those people taking the boy, sir?" ask Merlin.

"Mother don't know!"

Merlin clenched his hands and entered the house. He's looking for clues in the room Giga occupied last night.

Merlin saw the boy's glasses lying on the floor. He immediately picked it up.

Merlin's tears suddenly trickled down when recalling about Giga. "What will happen to him?"

He remembered his conversation with Giga this morning about criminals and angels. Merlin wiped his tears and immediately walked out of the room. Merlin passed his father who was still stunned to see the rupiah sheet in his hand.

"Merlina! We're rich, son! We can go to the village after this and build a business there" Drajat said.

Merlin kept walking and did not care about his father.

"Merlina! Where you going, son?" shouts Drajat.

Merlin stopped and looked at his father.

"If you want to remain a criminal, then go ahead. But I don't want to be a criminal like my father. I'm going to save that boy!" said the fiery Merlin and picked up his butut bike.

"Merlina! Back, Son! Don't you act stupid! Merlin!" drajat shouted but Merlin continued to pedal his bike.

Merlin went through a shortcut to catch up with the car carrying Giga.

"No! I don't want to be a criminal! I want to be an angel! I want to be an angel!"

Merlin mustered all his strength and continued to pedal his bike. Until finally he saw a black car that brought Giga into a warehousing area.

Merlin parked his bike not far from there and skidded around. He had already made up his mind to be able to save Giga from the criminals.

Merlin would move when those people were off guard. Merlin racked his brain to find a way out.

Merlin may not be a smart boy and a genius, but he has a cunning brain that may be passed down from his father. Merlin does several tricks to trick the two-man Giga kidnappers.

Carefully, Merlin made it into the warehouse and met Giga. Merlin walked slowly so as not to know the two people standing guard in front.

"Hey, geeky boy!" whispered Merlin.

Giga, whose eyes were closed, could not see Merlin's presence and could only hear his voice.

"St! Don't noise! I'm gonna get you out of here!"

Giga was terrified. His hands and feet were tied, his eyes were covered in cloth and his mouth was on duct tape.

"Ssttt! Don't fuss! You're gonna get us caught!"

Merlin immediately untied Giga's hands and feet. Then remove the cloth that covered his eyes. Slowly remove the duct tape in Giga's mouth.

"Hey! Who're you?" shouted a guard who caught Merlin and Giga.

"Run fast!" merlin.

"Tu-wait! I can't see clearly without my glasses" Giga lamented.

As fast as lightning Merlin grabbed Giga's hand and grasped it.

"We need to run as fast as possible!" merlin.

"Hey, you! Stop that!" The two adult men standing guard immediately ran after Merlin and Giga.
