Half-boss

In a mansion, a middle-aged man was interrogating his daughter. The girl just lowered her head looking at the anger of the father.

For the umpteenth time he threw a tantrum but only this time the father was really angry with him. What he did was the same thing he did years ago.

"Papa can't believe you're still playing around, Marina! It's enough you keep on acting! Change, Son! Papa no longer has face in front of Roy!"

The girl who was none other than Marina still remained lowered. He didn't know how his father would know this time.

"Papa's always watching you! You don't think Papa knows all your behavior, huh?!"

Marina raised her face. "Lad..."

"Don't argue! Stop chasing Nathan. He won't get you, son! She's already engaged to someone else!"

"What?! Where did you hear that rumor?" Marina couldn't believe what her father said.

"The father is not gossiping. The news has spread."

"Who's the girl who's engaged to Nathan? I'll crush that girl!"

"Enough! Don't make trouble again! Or papa will get you fired from your job. Papa will be out as an investor of Avicenna Group!" threaten this man named David Hoffman. Since the death of his wife, his daughter's attitude was unruly. Marina often defied and did as she pleased.

One person who can make Marina change a bit is when she met Nathan five years ago. He accidentally saw Nathan when he came to the party of young businessmen.

Marina felt challenged to conquer Nathan's cold and seductive attitude. Until finally he asked his father to become an investor in Avicenna Group and make him work there.

Marina doesn't like it if there's another girl who's close to Nathan, even if it's just a secretary. Early on being CEO, Nathan had a secretary. But none of that lasted long because of Marina. He made the secretary not feel at home working there and resigned.

The next day, another new secretary came and still did not last long. Harvey was eventually elected assistant secretary to Nathan. And that position persisted until now just because he was a man.

"Say who's the girl who took Nathan away from me?" shouted Marina.

"Stop! Papa won't let you act again this time. Papa doesn't want to hear you act again! Papa is tired!" David left his only daughter who was still growling annoyed.

"If you don't want to help me, then I'll do everything myself. Nathan, wait for me!" muttered Marina with a creepy grin.

This morning, Sheila and Tarjo did their usual activities. Sheila had to go to work and Tarjo went to the workshop. This time they drove their own vehicles.

Sheila with her car and Tarjo with her motorcycle. They say goodbye to each other before driving.

Sheila waved as Tarjo drove on his motorcycle. Then he also got into the car and immediately headed to the Avicenna Group building.

Sheila prepares her heart and self when she meets Nathan. His steps were stifled when his car had stalled in the parking lot of the Avicenna Group building.

With a heavy sigh, Sheila got out of her car and walked towards the employee elevator. His heart thundered as the elevator began to rise and in it he was alone.

The elevator stopped and opened. Several employees came in and jostled with him. Sheila remained silent until the elevator stopped on the floor she pressed.

His firm steps he showed people so that he did not look weak. Surely the incident some time ago made himself into the spotlight. And now he is nicknamed the secretary of wonder woman because only he survived after being bullied by Marina CS.

Sheila's steps come to a standstill when she meets Harvey on the way. The man greeted Sheila kindly.

"Hi, Shei.." he said as he waved his hand.

"Hi, Harv. Tumben's leaving?"

Harvey frowned. "I always leave early in the morning, Shei," Harvey replied.

Sheila chuckles. "I was just kidding. Let's walk!".

They walked leisurely towards their own rooms.

A car tire squeak made everyone turn their heads towards the car that stopped right in front of the Avicenna Group lobby. A handsome young man descended by displaying a different aura.

The aura that normally looked firm and cold, now turned calm and warm. His face was filled with smiles to everyone who greeted him.

The neighbors also started talking about him. He just smiled thinly with all the news tilted or positive about him.

TING

The elevator doors opened and the warm figure revealed a smile to the two people who were looking at him.

"Good morning!" greet Nathan to Harvey and Sheila.

Sheila and Harvey can't believe that this one in front of him is Nathan, their boss.

"Ehem!" Nathan coded Harvey for a bit of a move away from Sheila.

Harvey shifted away from Sheila.

"Let's go in, Sheila!" nathan said with a big smile.

Sheila poked her lips. "He why? Is he possessed by a demon? Early in the morning, the smile is not clear!" sheila muttered.

Arriving at her boss's room, Sheila and Harvey notice Nathan checking the files and signing them.

"Done up!" nathan then handed over the file to Harvey.

"You can go, Harvey."

Harvey saluted then passed. Sheila remained silent in her place. He was waiting for orders from this half-breed boss. Half cold, half warm, haha. Sheila seems to have a new nickname for Nathan.

"Ehem!" Nathan cleared his throat and made Sheila look up.

"Is there anything you need?" ask Sheila.

"Randomize my schedule today!"

"Good, sir." Sheila opened her notebook. He immediately read the entire agenda he had made for Nathan.

Nathan the mangosteen heard his schedule today.

"Cancel all meetings today!" said Nathan.

"Did?!" Sheila belittles.

"Please don't glare at me! I'm your boss!" ketus Nathan's.

"I-I'm sorry, sir." Sheila immediately lowered her face.

"Do you understand? Today I will not go anywhere. I'll just finish everything from here!"

Sheila nodded. "I'm sorry, sir!" pamit Sheila's.

"Eits, who said you could go. Waita minute!"

"Yes, Sir. What's up again?" sheila asked with restraint on her emotions.

"Make me coffee!" nathan's Word.

"Good, sir." Sheila immediately headed for the pantry and made some coffee.

Inside the pantry, Sheila continued to grumble with that half-boss attitude. Actually, when she arrived earlier, Sheila wanted to make coffee first, but Nathan forbade it.

"Basic half-boss! He said he didn't want to drink coffee, now he wants! Huh! What else will you try?"

Sheila stirred the coffee by continuously pursing her lips. He brought a cup of coffee and put it on the table.

"Please drink, sir!" sheila said politely and commented on the smile.

"Okay, thank you, Shei. Let's just hope the coffee doesn't taste bitter because that keeps him grumbling." Nathan said without looking at Sheila. He focused on his flat screen. It seems he deliberately insinuated Sheila.

"Eh?" Sheila was shocked because Nathan caught her grumbling.

"The taste of real coffee is of course bitter, sir. Because added sugar turns into sweet taste," Sheila replied.

"Isn't that the same as life? If it tastes bitter, you can add sugar and even milk there. So it feels different. And the taste of coffee in your life will taste better" Nathan replied again by staring at Sheila.

I don't know why that look feels different. Is there anything Nathan wants to tell me? Whatisit? Should I learn to trust him? Adding a little confidence in my heart to make my life come back in color.
