Chapter 31: Wife Status

"Ma, Mama ...," call Gavin.

Flora, who was pensive by the window, realized her son's call. He quickly moved from his place to meet Gavin, who was still lying on the treatment bed.

"Why, Honey? You want to pee?" ask Flora.

Gavin.

Flora frowned. "You hungry? Wanna eat?" ask again.

"No, Ma. I don't want anything. Gavin just wanted to get close to mama" said the boy as he reached for Flora's hand.

Flora developed a smile. He put a sweet kiss on his son's forehead. "Mama will always be here looking after Gavin."

"Ma, Papa won't come back here again, will you? Surely Aunt Prilly is angry," said Gavin.

Flora was surprised to learn that her son was still thinking about the matter this afternoon. Indeed, after he sent Alvaro away, the man did not return until night.

"Papa must be banned from being Gavin's father. Mama was beaten, pity Mama," said Gavin dengN innocently.

Flora kept trying to smile showing her firmness. It was as if he was not affected by any of his problems.

"Papa will definitely return after his affairs are done. You don't worry. What if Gavin sleeps first now, who knows that by morning Papa is back" Flora said.

Gavin looks into his mother's eyes to find certainty.

Madam Suhay could only massage her forehead while reading the files that Alvaro had given her. He did not expect that Prilly had been lying to him all this time.

In the past, he allowed his son to marry Prilly as a form of responsibility because Prilly was pregnant which he thought was Alvaro's son. Especially that night, the two were trying to get close. Madam Suhay did not mind, considering Prilly an artist who could certainly increase her family's prestige.

Unexpectedly, the daughter-in-law whom he had praised all this time, apparently brought someone else's child into his house and claimed that the child was his grandson.

"I heard the woman came from a family full of problems. Are you sure that kid is really your flesh and blood?" asked Madam Suhay with a look on her face that looked very tired.

"I did the DNA test myself without her knowledge, Ma. She even avoided asking me every time she didn't want to interfere with my marriage to Prilly" Alvaro replied.

Madam Suhay sighed. "But his family is very troubled. I don't think I'd be able to introduce him to our other families."

Before meeting with Alvaro, Madam Suhay had already told her men to find out about Flora's life. The woman his son loved came from a mediocre family. The woman had been orphaned with an older sister who often got into trouble, especially about gambling, intoxication, and debt. His head wanted to break apart to get information about the Flora family.

"Ma, is there any bad information about Flora?" ask Alvaro.

"Yes ... There really isn't! But, the behavior of her brother who had been in and out of prison is questionable as to what the nature of him in the family is not clear!" kilah Madam Suhay. He still refused the woman his son loved.

Madam Suhay seemed to shake her head. He still cannot accept Flora to enter his family. Imagining later will be a lot of talk of business partners if he takes a son-in-law from a family whose origins are not clear and not worth it.

"If you still insist on admitting the child, just bring your child, we can raise him without his mother. After all, he is indeed your son," Madam Suhay said.

Alvaro was silent for a moment thinking about his mother's words. "Sorry, Ma. This time I want to have a family of my own that I have been dreaming of for a long time. If you can't accept Flora, let me get off this family list so you don't embarrass Mama."

Alvaro's love for Flora is huge. His decision this time was unanimous. He had prepared to lose everything as long as he could stay with Flora.

"Alvaro! You dare to argue with Mama!" snapped Madame Suhay.

"Sorry, Ma. I will protect my son and my wife" Alvaro said.

"Alvaro!" snapped Madame Suhay once more.

"We'll just stop this discussion. I have to take care of my sick son. She's got aplastic anemia, Ma. The rest, whatever you want" Alvaro said.

After finishing his conversation with his mother, Alvaro then walked away from his residence. He asked his personal driver to drive him back to the hospital.

Unexpectedly on the wedding day that had just been implemented, something very undesirable happened. He still felt guilty for Flora.

Arriving at Gavin's treatment room, he saw Flora sleeping on the side of the bed with their hands holding each other.

There is a sense of joy mixed to watch two people who are very dear to him. Gavin is his son and Flora is his wife.

Slowly he walked over, peeking at Flora's still-asleep cheek. His actions instantly awakened Flora.

Flora was shocked when she felt something touch her cheek. He was even more shocked when he realized Alvaro was already there and it was the man who had kissed him. He felt awkward about the treatment Alvaro gave him.

"Can I kiss you? We are married" Alvaro said.

Flora was stunned and clumsy with Alvaro's words just now. She forgot that it was legal to be the man's wife.

"You're back, sir? Is the business done?" asked Flora with a stiff tone.

Alvaro frowned. "Why do you still talk to the boss? I'm your husband" he protested.

Flora looked confused to answer. He felt wrong because he was not used to his new status as a wife.

"It's going to happen too fast, I still need to adapt" Flora said.

"What is adaptation for? Just talk normally and call me "Mas" or "Darling" what's the trouble? Time kissed in shock," Alvaro quipped. He chuckled at the funny expression Flora made.

Flora was stunned by the strange behavior of the man before her. Alvaro is acting like a normal person when he is very nervous every time the man discusses their current marital status.
