Chapter 7: I'm Worried about you

Alvaro stood up as he folded his arms around his chest. His eyes full of anger. He was very disappointed with what had just happened. Facilities at the new resort made the secretary almost wretched.

Mr. Bowo who is responsible for all those events can only be bowed down.

"I suspect there is corruption in the resort project this time. Don't expect you to survive! I've formed a team to investigate" Alvaro said.

"I'm sorry, Sir. I will also re-evaluate" replied Mr. Bowo.

"What have you been doing all this time? Dare to provide bad facilities for visitors. If anything happens to my secretary, I will sue you!"

"Sir Alvaro, please go inside."

A doctor appeared from behind the examination door. Inside there is Flora. He left them and went inside with the doctor to see Flora's condition.

"How's he doing, Doc?" ask Alvaro.

"Mother Flora is fine. His legs sprained, but it might take a week or two to heal. In times of healing it is better not to move too much."

"What about his head? Is he a concussion?" ask Alvaro to worry.

The doctor laughed a little. "No, Sir. His head is fine, just an external wound."

"Good, Doc. Thank you" said Alvaro.

"Then, excuse me" said the doctor with the nurse who helped him.

Alvaro walked closer towards Flora's bed. His eyes stared softly at the woman with her head wrapped in bandages and legs attached to a foot brace.

"I'm sorry, sir. Our work has been delayed" Flora said.

Alvaro hits Flora on the head.

"Ouch! Why was I beaten?" flora protested while rubbing her head.

"Are you stupid or what? Already know the danger even pretentious to help people. Do you think I can't protect myself?" alvaro Gerricks.

Flora gaped to hear the nagging of her superiors. He thought he would be rewarded for saving the company's valuable assets. Instead, he was scolded.

"Because of your condition like this my schedule has become a mess!" alvaro. "Next time no hero's ass! Think of yourself!"

Flora sighed. He refrained from saying inappropriate words. Alvaro is a cruel man who has no mercy.

Only a moment did he feel that Alvaro had a good side. When the man held her, it was like seeing sincerity. In reality, that cruel side remained his disposition.

"Yes, Sir. I'm sorry," said Flora.

"You will be treated here until you recover. During that time, I freed you from work" Alvaro said.

Flora was surprised by Flora's decision. "Sorry, Sir! I'm doing fine. I want to go home" he asked.

"I'm outpatient, sir," asked Flora.

"No! Anyway you should be treated here until it heals. It's not that I'm good to you, it's for the company's sake. Pity the HRD team if you have to find a replacement secretary again."

Flora mocked him in silence. He already knew that as long as his boss was in the lead, he had asked for a replacement secretary many times. He was the 30th secretary eventually elected to accompany the headstrong CEO.

"Thank you for your good intentions. But I can't stay in the hospital. You must not forget that I already have a child. He has no one but me."

The reason Flora gave made Alvaro slightly softened. Suddenly he thought about the boy. Gavin's eyes were as clear as he had seen them before.

"So, how, sir? I can go home, right? It's time for Gavin to get home from school. I have to pick her up" Flora said expectantly.

"Well then, let me drive you home!" Alvaro.

"Eh, uh, what do you want?" Flora was shocked when Alvaro wanted to touch her body.

"You're still having trouble walking, right? I want to carry you like that," Alvaro said innocently.

"No, Sir! I don't want to! That's embarrassing!" reject Flora.

"What?" Alvaro was somewhat offended at the rejection. "I was also the one who took you so hard to get here, you said it was embarrassing?" his protest.

"Okay, Sir! I mean it's not like that. It was an emergency. But now you want to repeat it again? Later it could be gossip is thought there is a no-no relationship between us. Moreover, you are also married," said Flora.

Alvaro thought for a moment. It's not that far as he imagined it.

"Please get me a stick over there, sir. I can still walk" Flora said firmly, pointing to the stick next to her.

Alvaro complies with Flora's request. He took the wand and gave it to Flora gently. Then, Alvaro held onto Flora's arm as they stood up and began the journey towards the door.

The two of them stepped slowly, Flora who relied on a walking stick to support her steps, and Alvaro who helped her with great caution. As they exited the room, they saw many people waiting outside. Expressions of sympathy and pity were seen on their faces when they saw Flora's condition due to the work accident that had just occurred.

Alvaro firmly gave instructions to the people waiting. "You go straight back to the company. I'll take Flora home, then catch up with you at the office. Don't go home yet" he said in a firm but attentive voice.

Talia, one of the staff present, immediately voiced her concern, "How is Mother Flora's condition? Are his legs okay?"

Flora developed a weak smile, trying to calm those around her. "I'm fine, don't worry too much. It just sprained," he replied in a soft voice, trying to ease their worries.

"Yes, me and Flora first. Remember, you guys are back at the office!" alvaro's orders were firm.

"Well, sir," they answered in unison, obedient to their boss's orders.

Flora walked at a slow pace, relying on a walking stick that became her temporary best friend. Alvaro walked beside him, with great care and caution so as not to happen any unwanted event.

When they arrive at the car, Alvaro helps Flora in carefully. The walking stick was placed in the back seat attentively. Alvaro then helps Flora put on her seatbelt, and in such moments, there is an unexpressed vibration that Flora feels when Alvaro brings her body closer.

That brief moment felt like a pause between stressful circumstances. Flora felt her heartbeat increase as Alvaro gently secured the seat belt around her body. Their gaze met for a moment, and within that gaze, there was an unspoken feeling between them. Flora and Alvaro felt something strange but immediately brushed it off.
