Chapter 8: I Have Papa

The afternoon has arrived. One by one the disciples of the Superior Successor Kindergarten started to come out after the invitation came. There were three children who were still in the game area while waiting for an invitation to come, one of them was Gavin.

"Hey, Gavin. You're a poor boy, aren't you?" Aiden asked as he swung on the swing.

"Yes, you must be poor. You're the only one who went to school on foot" continued Eren. He was busy playing games.

Gavin wondered why such questions always came to him, both in his old school and in his new school.

"What if I'm poor?"

"If you are poor, don't go to school here, you will be ashamed" Aiden said.

"Why should I be ashamed? I'll wear clothes" Gavin said.

"You don't have a car" said Eren.

"Yes, you don't have a father either!"

Gavin was immediately bowed. The words of his friends made him sad. As he often asked his mother, why should he be different from his other friends. He also wants a father.

"Gavin pity ya, no father. No one can pick up by car. He'll be back on foot again" Aiden said.

The two children laughed at Gavin who could only sit there quietly.

Gavin became unsettled. He walked towards the gate, looking at his friends who had been picked up by his family. It was a private school where the children of the rich were. They were always picked up by car, except for Gavin.

The boy just stared enviously at them. Seeing his friends hug their mother or father with happy faces, made him imagine being hugged too by a father.

"You must have come home last, Gavin. Your mother's still on foot to pick you up" Eren said.

The two children again approached Gavin and made his mood sad.

Suddenly the corner of his eyes found a figure that was not unfamiliar to him. An adult man with a cool appearance wearing sunglasses just got out of the car.

Gavin's eyes immediately sparkled. The grown man was a handsome CEO whom he met in his mother's office.

"Papa ....!" he shouted with excitement while waving his hands.

Eren and Aiden looked at each other. They were astonished and could not believe that Gavin had a father. Moreover, all this time they never saw Gavin picked up his father.

Gavin smiled a grin at his two friends. "My father has come to pick me up. I'm going home first, yeah!" he said with confidence.

"Where's your papa? I can't believe it" said Eren.

"That's the coolest guy that's my papa!" gavin said excitedly.

"No way!" said Aiden.

Gavin felt challenged to prove to his two friends. He ran to Alvaro.

"Papa ..." call him.

Gavin's appeal caught the attention of those who were still there. Alvaro was confused and went into a frenzy. Especially when Gavin turns to approach her and hugs her.

"Father," said he.

Alvaro looked puzzled to hear Flora's child calling him that. He lowered his body to be on par with Gavin. The boy hugged her again. They become the center of attention of people.

"Gavin!" call Flora.

He just got out of the car wearing his cane. He was also surprised because his son carelessly called his superiors with the name 'papa' especially in public places.

"Mama why? How's her leg like that?" ask Gavin wonder.

"Gavin, Mama told you you can't be like that! Angry mama!" flora Tease.

Gavin's face is back. He looked at the handsome man in front of him. He wished he could call him 'papa'. He wants to have a father like his friends.

"Om, forgive Gavin, yes ... Can Gavin just call 'Papa' today?" asked Gavin expectantly.

Alvaro squinted next to his eyebrows. He never liked children, but the little boy in front of him is now very cute and makes him happy. He did not expect that the one in front of him was now really his son. But, Flora forbids him from suddenly acknowledging as his father.

"Gavin, don't talk shit! Let's go home!" said Flora. It's not good to be the center of attention there.

Gavin's face looked like he wanted to cry. "Om, I'm always teased by my friends. He said I'm a poor kid who walks every day, doesn't have a car and doesn't have a father like the others."

Gavin's words moved Alvaro. He pulled Gavin and hugged him warmly. Flora could do nothing. His heart ached listening to the honesty that Gavin had felt all along.

"Come, meet Papa to your friends. Let them know you have a cool Papa, too" Alvaro said.

Gavin immediately looked carefree. "I can call you Papa, right?" tanyakanya.

"Of course I can. Come on, let's surprise your friends!" alvaro answered with passion.

Flora made no comment. He let them do what they wanted. He just stood there.

Alvaro held Gavin affectionately. They walked over to Eren and Aiden who were still dumbfounded to see Gavin. Both are amazed to find out Gavin's father turned out to be so cool.

"Papa, these are my friends" said Gavin.

The boy is so good at acting. He hugged Alvaro while resting his head on the chest of the man he called the father. The look of his face was cheerful so that his two friends could be envious of him.

"Hello, what's your name?" ask Alvaro.

"I'm Eren, Om."

"I'm Aiden."

Alvaro smiled. "I'm Gavin's dad" he admitted. "Thank you for being such a good friend to Gavin, yes" he added.

"Yes, Om," answered Aiden and Eren compactly. They were still dumbfounded considering that the man was so handsome and cool, different from their father.

"Okay, Gavin. Today we will eat at the restaurant. What do you want to eat?" ask Alvaro.

"I want to eat a steak, Papa! I want ice cream too!" gavin replied with passion.

"May, Papa will buy you a toy. We'll take a walk till night, yeah!"

"Yeah! Funny!"

Eren and Aiden can only envy Gavin's happiness. Gavin's father turned out to be very kind and considerate in their eyes.

"Alright, then we go home first. You say goodbye to your friends" said Alvaro.

"Eren, Aiden, I'll go home first, yeah! See you tomorrow" he said, waving his hand.

Alvaro holds Gavin back to Flora. "Come, we go home" he told Flora.

"Papa, I'm going down. Papa help Mama walk, yeah!" gavin Pinta.

"No, I can walk alone" Flora refused. He could only sigh at the will of his son.

Alvaro took down Gavin. He helps Flora to walk to her car. "Don't protest much. The truth is that I'm his father" said Alvaro.

"I've told you, right, before you settle things with your little family, don't mess with our lives!" flora replied half in a whisper.
