Chapters 19. Red Cheek

"What's mom's cheek red from being hit by dad?"

Once again Linda could not speak hearing Aruna's question. Erik's former slap must have stuck to his white cheek. Linda could only hug her daughter tighter and was warmly reciprocated by Aruna.

"Don't say this to anyone Runa" Linda said in between tears. "Later grandma and bude Sari will be more and more dislike your father if they find out."

"But mom is sick?!"

"Mom's okay." Linda tried to convince Aruna. She let go of his embrace and looked at Aruna to show if she was okay.

"Promise mom, you won't tell anyone!"

Aruna nodded. The boy doesn't know how to. On the one hand he does not want his mother to get hurt but on the other hand he also does not want his father to be hated by his mother's family.

"Smart child ... " Linda rubs Aruna's head.

Linda exits Aruna's room after making sure the boy is asleep. After that he went to his room.

Up in the room he took the money out of his pocket and kept looking at the money.

Linda hasn't bought new clothes in a long time. It would certainly be nice if Linda used the money to buy the things she wanted.

Linda imagines her using the money to buy new clothes and change her appearance. Perhaps that way Erik will leave Diana and return to her.

But no, even though poor Linda has some self-esteem. She did not want to use the money given by the woman who had taken her husband.

Linda kept the money in her closet. Then he laid himself on the bed of the present floor, and never knew when it would be his bed. Linda grimaced with pain in some parts of her body because of Erik's actions.

This was not the first time Erik had beaten her. Erik had misunderstood Linda as having played with a man, but the man had only come to get his wife's stitches.

Erik was furious and could not control his emotions. As a result, Linda's face was covered with bruises and for almost two weeks she did not dare to leave the house.

But that did not make Linda aware, instead her love for Erik deepened. He thought Erik did that because he loved her so much and didn't want to lose her.

It felt like only a few minutes Linda closed her eyes but it was already morning. Trouble Linda woke up because holding her body feels pained.

Linda immediately did her usual work, cooking and cleaning the house. After that he wakes up Aruna to get ready for school.

Although it has been treated but the bruises on Linda's face are still visible. And that made Aruna unable to distract her from her mother.

"Runa doesn't have to go to school. Runa just want to be at home to be able to take care of mother," said Aruna while continuing to look at her mother's face.

Linda smiled. "Mom's okay, Runa, I'm fine."

"But what if I'm later dad ... ?" Aruna did not continue her sentence.

"No, I won't be angry anymore."

Not long after Aruna's departure, Erik wakes up. Linda was astonished but also pounding. Rarely does Erik wake up in the morning and almost never.

Linda just lowered her head while tidying Aruna's breakfast plate while Erik passed by while draping a towel around her neck. This was also an unusual thing because after opening his eyes he usually went straight to the dining table instead of taking a shower.

Linda did not dare to rebuke Erik. He just kept quiet for fear of making a mistake and making Erik's mood go bad.

"No need to prepare food for me. I want to accompany Diana so I will eat outside" Erik said without feeling guilty. She only caught a glimpse of Linda without apologizing or asking for bruises on her face from last night.

Linda's body froze hearing Erik's words. Where there is a wife who wants her husband to leave with his affair.

"Mas, aren't you thinking about my feelings just a little bit? Please leave him. I'm your wife!" Linda expressed her heart. Linda's body and heart already hurt, she didn't care if her question provoked Erik's emotions and made him beaten again. She just wants her husband who she loves so much to be hers.

"Dam!!! No need to make a storm in the morning! You know what I'm doing for? Because I need money!"

"But you can earn money another way."

"How what? Working?!"

"Mas, you're young and your body is healthy. You can find a job" Linda replied in the smoothest voice possible so as not to provoke Erik's anger.

Erik smiled cynically hearing Linda's words. Not once twice did Linda say that to him. But Erik never had the desire to find a job. He just wants to live a good life without having to work, period.

"You just shut up and enjoy what I give you!" Erik passed by leaving Linda.

Month passed. Erik is rarely home. She spent more and more time outside with Diana. Sometimes she comes home just to give Linda money or put her groceries away after it's gone again.

Imagining Erik enjoying the night with Diana often made Linda cry. If asked to choose, she would rather live mediocre than have to share her husband with other women. Since childhood he was used to living a simple life so he had no problem with it.

Erik is getting closer to Diana. Even the woman came to Linda and Erik's house more and more, without hesitation.

"Didn't I give you money to buy clothes? Why is your appearance still the same?" ask Diana.

"I don't care about my looks!" linda answered coldly. He was already getting used to Diana's presence in his house.

"Erik can really leave you if you keep it that way" Diana said.

"You know my husband never loved you. He approached you just because of your money?!"

Diana chuckled at Linda's reply. "I don't care. Money is not a problem for me! Whatever Erik asks I'll give you as long as I'm happy."

Maybe that's what Diana said. He gave a lot of money to Erik. The proof this month alone Erik has given him almost seven million, that's a very large amount for Linda. But Linda never used the money so it was natural for Diana to question Linda's appearance which was still like that. Even if Linda wants to buy something, she can use her sewing money.

Linda kept the money neatly and did not know when to use it. Linda believes Erik and Diana's relationship will not run smoothly forever.
