Chapter 22. Terrified

In the afternoon Mr. Yanto was ready to go to Erik's house. As planned, he wanted to pick up Linda and Aruna's belongings. The pick up he hired has also come.

"Rpa ... I want to come along." Linda asked her father to let her take his things.

"No, you're home. I don't want you to meet with Erik" replied Mr. Yanto firmly.

"But then you don't know what my things are and where. And Runa's stuff."

"Then explain to the father, what you should take and where it is located."

Linda can't fool her father.

"Yes, it's up to you." Then Linda explains everything, including where she keeps money from Erik that she never uses.

Mr. Yanto just nodded. "Yes already ... You're leaving now."

"Marriage books and other important papers were in Mas Erik's room. In the desk drawer," Linda added. Not forgetting he handed over the keys to his house to Mr. Yanto.

Mr. Yanto nodded again. He understood what Linda meant.

In the evening Mr. Yanto came home and brought Linda and Aruna's belongings. Assisted by the pick-up driver he rented, Mr. Yanto put the items into his house.

Linda looked tense at the arrival of the father. He was worried that Erik and his father were fighting before picking up the items.

"Did you meet Mas Erik?" ask Linda carefully.

Mr. Yanto had finished unpacking the items he had brought from Linda's house. Now Mr. Yanto, Bu Yanto and Linda are sitting in the living room while Aruna is asleep in the room. This living room will eventually become a room to sew Linda.

Linda breathed a sigh of relief. It means that his father has not discussed the divorce issue with Erik.

"Maybe Mas Erik is pulling orders."

Linda hopes to talk to Erik first before deciding to part with him. Linda is sure Erik doesn't want to divorce her.

Linda was relieved to hear her father's reply. Erik must have deliberately hidden their marriage book because he didn't want to divorce Linda. Erik still loves her, neither does Erik want to part with her, Linda thought.

"Sir, I want to see Mas Erik. I want to ask for my marriage book so that I can immediately take care of the divorce documents," Linda said before Mr. Yanto left for the rice field. For this reason Linda believes her father would give her permission so that she could meet Erik.

Linda's intention was to persuade Erik to come to her parents' house and apologize to them. Linda was sure they would forgive Erik and would not tell them to separate.

"No need sir, I'll leave now and deliver Aruna to school."

Mr. Yanto seemed doubtful. She remembers how Linda was when Erik beat her last time. Maybe Erik did it again.

"It's okay sir." Linda tried to convince Mr. Yanto.

Finally, with a heavy heart, Mr. Yanto allowed Linda to go with Aruna.

"Please promise me you'll come back to this house." Linda nodded. Linda deliberately chose the morning to see Erik because she knew Erik must be home in the morning.

Riding her father's motorcycle, Linda leaves to drive Aruna to school. After that Linda immediately headed to her husband's house. The distance between school and Erik's house is not far. Not until five minutes did he arrive. Linda looked at the house, the house she had lived in for eight years. The atmosphere looked quiet from the outside. Erik hasn't woken up yet.

Slowly Linda stepped her foot into the courtyard. But as soon as he reached the terrace and almost touched the door his body felt stiff. Linda just pecked. Cold sweat soaked all over his body, his heart pounded unruffled and his body trembled. Erik's shadow hit and snapped himself back flashed in his mind.

Linda pulled back her hand that was about to grab the doorknob.

While during a week of living at her parents' house, Linda always thought of Erik. She misses her husband so much that she forgets the reason why he stayed home there.

But now as soon as he set foot in Erik's house, the longing was gone changed with overwhelming fear. Even to just open the door Linda felt helpless.

It was very desirable for Linda to turn around and undo her intention to meet Erik but her still trembling body made her legs feel like they were weak. He clung to the wall and took a deep breath to ward off his fear. After repeating that a few times Linda finally felt calmer.

Linda's back on her power. He didn't want to see Erik. He wanted to get out of that place immediately.

Just when Linda wanted to turn the bike around, there was a car coming into the yard so Linda's bike couldn't get out.

Diana was seen getting out of the car as soon as the car stopped. Linda's mouth was open in disbelief.

"You? Didn't you leave this house? Why come back?" diana asked as soon as the two of them faced off.

"It's none of your business!" ketus Linda's. He dared to fight Diana but once there Erik must have lost all his courage, yawned somewhere.

Diana smiled cynically at Linda's reply. "Excuse me, I have a need with Erik." Diana walks past Linda and goes straight inside Erik's house. Apparently he already has the spare key of this house.

Linda could not go anywhere because her motorbike could not get out was blocked by Diana's car. Linda could only resign but she also did not want to follow Diana into the house.

Erik came out not long ago. Looks like Diana told Erik about Linda's arrival at this house.

Erik looked at Linda sharply. Linda lowered her head, hiding her already deathly pale face.

"Get in!!!" erik said slowly but with great emphasis.

Linda didn't move, she was so scared.
