An hour's drive I finally went to sleep. Pretending to sleep. For diverting his questions about David. Where does david work? What graduates? What age? Good guy or not? Ever hit no?
I was lazy to fill his curiosity then by diverting it I asked about the contents of the writing on the sticky note. Then disaster happened. I was given a free lecture with facilities on the cloud, guaranteed privacy and received a debate about the contents of the book. And the two torturous hours finally passed after I intercepted a flight attendant who happened to pass by.
"Sir, may I have a paracetamol? I seem to be airsick."
The friendly and beautiful flight attendant swiftly responded to my request. In just a minute, the flight attendant sister returned with a medicine plus a glass of warm water. Mr. Gilbert was watching me, maybe he wanted to see if I was lying or not. But swearing. I really feel dizzy and my stomach is churning. Fifty percent of the time due to flying and fifty percent due to free tuition.
Finally, Mr. Gilbert told me to sleep and he promised to wake me up when the plane landed. But I couldn't really sleep because I was overwhelmed by the constant roar of the airplane engine making my ears uncomfortable. Close your eyes and being quiet like this is actually very helpful. An hour will soon pass.

The frenzied airport lobby. I walked up to a group of passengers who were on a plane with me. After roughly finding a way out, I stopped to call David. There's a time difference of an hour faster here. Just the first ringing, David's voice immediately sounded. I smiled happily and was relieved. David's magical voice instantly gave me a sense of security in this strange place.
David asked me to find a restaurant he would always visit when he arrived from the airport. In addition to taste good, this restaurant also has memories that mean a lot to him. The place where he and his family once stopped while on vacation. And it was also the last family outings because after that his father was very busy expanding his business until never again family outings. Therefore, if David happens to be coming to this city, either for sightseeing or service, he will stop by this restaurant and order the food he used to eat with his family.
It is not difficult to find a restaurant called David because it is side by side with a famous fast food restaurant. The place is spacious, with glass surrounding the entire restaurant. The atmosphere inside felt cool and calm. How do I call it? Anyway, I can sit here for a long time. I chose a seat next to the glass because the seat was a sofa with a high backrest with a long table in front of it. It feels like I have my own privacy.
David is still on the phone now switched to Video Call. I use a small flower vase as a cell phone awareness. A waitress handed me a menu book. I asked him to come back later after I confirmed my order.
Just open a page, I close it.
"It's really expensive, Dave." I protested slowly.
"But the taste and the price are worth it, dear." replied David across the street who was typing something on his laptop. He was also again in the restaurant of a hotel, waiting for one of its investors.
"I have to skimp, Dave. Just got to a moment of waste." I was about to get out of this soft chair. Mending I eat at the fast food restaurant next door.
"Wear my credit card. No need to skimp. You're going to college, not the ascetic."
"When do I have your credit card?"
"I put it in your wallet this morning."
"Really?"
I immediately checked the slot of my wallet which suddenly increased by one card. Master Card in black glittering.
"I didn't see it wrong? Are your eyes shining?" david taunted as he rubbed his eyes.
"Bring and keep. I put a tracking device in there. If you suddenly can't be reached, I can track you through it."
"Seriously?"
"Lied."
Finally thanks to David's credit card, I managed to enjoy a dish that cost the equivalent of half a month's living expenses and successfully filled my lamb. I feel like I'll be full until nightfall. Investor David has arrived and he has to close the call. Don't forget to remind me to keep telling through chat.
"Your boyfriend turned out to be possessive well." a head suddenly popped out from behind the backrest of the front seat.
My heart was like five hundred volts of electricity.
"Sir Gil!! Since when was my father there?" I asked as I stroked my chest which was still in shock.
"From earlier." He said as he left his desk and turned to sit in front of me. "I want to say hello, but you're talking to your girlfriend, so I'm locked up."
"I have to go now" I said, sipping my smoothies.
"Let me take you." Mr. Gilbert went along.
"No need, sir. I'll just take the taxi." I hurriedly put my phone in the bag.
"I happen to be going to college, so I can drop you in the dorm." she asked again.
My feelings are not good. Being questioned about personal affairs alone has made me uncomfortable, plus free college that makes me nauseous. Continue to be followed until at the restaurant especially now taken by road together. I don't know anyone here yet, I can't be careless. It could be that he is a fraudster under the guise of a lecturer. It could be that I just happen to be a target that can be tricked.
I did not answer him anymore and immediately hurriedly left the restaurant. I ran small towards the big road and got into an empty taxi. I dare not look back for fear that Mr. Gilbert was chasing me. I said my destination address to the taxi driver and breathed a sigh of relief.
I sent David a quick message that I was on my way to the dorm. I dare not tell David about this. There's still four years left, I don't want to worry him too soon.
I waited a few minutes but David didn't respond. Maybe he's still in a meeting with his investors. I finally enjoyed the view outside the window. The streets are smooth, clean, lots of traditional buildings. Residential housing also has carvings with the characteristics of this city. He said the residents of this city are very friendly, hopefully I will meet friendly people in the dorms and on campus.
Suddenly my brain flashed the figure of Mr. Gilbert, making my hair straight up. If Mr. Gilbert isn't a con man, he's really a nice, friendly and sometimes funny guy. But his attitude was in my opinion too show excessive attention. It can make people uncomfortable.
The journey has just begun, I must be steadfast and not let my guard down. Anyway, I have to finish this study until it's over. Because this is also my dream and also the hope of my late parents.
Lia's spirit!!
