The taxi stopped right in front of the dormitory. I pay the rate according to the argometer that is clearly displayed on the front screen. Pretty expensive too. No wonder, because the journey from the airport is also quite far, one hour and seventeen minutes.
The second thing I did after paying the taxi fare was send a message to David.
'I've arrived at the dorm.'
The message when I was in the taxi was still no reply. David may have trouble handling that investor. I threw my phone in my sling bag and got out of the taxi. The driver took my suitcase out of the trunk of the car. I thanked him and pulled my suitcase into the dormitory gate. The building is very slick, not forgetting the typical carving of the city is found on every building pole. The entire building was red brick with the roof dangling out. A mix of classic and modern.
I climbed a number of stairs to enter the building and was immediately greeted with a reception desk in the middle of a spacious room. Behind the reception desk are several long tables and chairs that surround it. A group of students filled one of the tables and seemed to be discussing something serious. I couldn't turn my attention to a student standing up doing a presentation exercise. His voice is round, his articulation perfect. He will definitely get an A for his presentation.
"Hallo." The brother who was at the reception desk returned my attention.
"Oh, hello brother. I'm Amelia, a transfer student. Hmm, I've signed up to stay in the dorm."
"Hallo Amelia, we have received your data. Previously you list staying in the dorm until your studies are finished huh? But we have a rule that the residence permit is only a maximum of four semesters."
This was not told to me by David. But he may not know this rule either. All right, just walk first. For the next I just need to find a boarding place near the campus.
"Yes, brother. After the fourth semester, I'll move out of the dorm."
I was given a key with a wooden keychain bearing my room number. I walked behind the building towards the backyard which was an empty lot surrounded by a three-story building. From here I could see the doors lined up on the balcony of each floor. I climbed the stairs on the right side of the empty land and headed towards my room on the second floor.
I immediately found my room number. I turned the keyhole and knocked on the door before entering. Because it could be my roommate inside, too. But it turns out inside is empty. There is one bathroom, two beds, two wardrobes, two study tables, one of which is neatly arranged with books, table lamps, etc, a small mirror and pen holder that contains a wide variety of pen colors.
From this moment on, this is where I will fill my tired days until the fourth semester is over.

"Lia, you know what Mr Jos said?" della asked me on a class trip.
"Lumayan. There are some parts I don't understand."
we walked side by side with a group of students vying for the front row seats in Mr. Gilbert's class.
Yes, Mr. Gilbert I mean a freak who gave me a free lecture on a plane. None other than that, it turns out that he is a lecturer who has taught for many years at this campus and more surprisingly, he is very popular here, and everywhere. Means I'm the only one who thinks he's weird, possessive and psychopathic.
Maybe it's too much of a free lecture, following me to the restaurant, eavesdropping on my conversation with David and offering me a ride, and I keep calling him a psychopath. But if you come to the cafeteria, Mr. Gil is always there and orders the same food as me and even drinks the same. Not just once, but always. I never tried eating in the cafeteria and reading in the library. Gil also appeared in the library at that time. Although he did not come to me or kept glancing at me like someone who was obsessed with something, but his presence alone was quite disturbing me. I have long been horrified.
The lecture Mr. Gil brought was always fun. He always knew the right time to joke, seriously and ask. Finally the student will focus on him from the beginning of the final ampe.
Except me. A few minutes after I was in class, David called. As usual, I'll mute the video call and put it upright on the table using the phone holder. David's appearance on the screen always keeps my heart entertained. Classmates are no wonder if I open a video call on the sidelines of the lesson. At first they thought I was the sugar baby of a married man. In addition, David's more mature appearance and always dressed formally featuring our age that is far adrift supports the suspicion that I am a sugar baby. But after I explained to them that David was my girlfriend and we were in LDR, they finally understood. Even though there are two people who say we are too bucin. But that's someone else's opinion. David and I have a deal we don't want to break.
The midterms are in sight. Della and I spent more time in the college library or in the dorm room. We reviewed more notes and exercises. Then collect the unanswered questions then tomorrow we will find the lecturer concerned for guidance. Although the level of stress in preparing for the midterm exam is quite high, the university has promised to hold activities outside the campus after the completion of the final semester exam.
According to the class brothers, this event is always held every turn of the semester. Then BEM will arrange a committee at each level to discuss the location and activities to be carried out. The event that only lasts for three days is always in the future by students who study here.
"How are you preparing for your exam?" david asked at nine o'clock in the evening when I got into bed and Della was still at the study table.
"Basrah." I said.
"Surely in the first UTS do not want more effort?" david asked after sipping his white wine.
"Accomplished the limit. Don't know what else to do." I said and yawned.
"What time is the exam tomorrow?"
"Start at ten and finish at five."
"All right, get to bed. Call me when you're done with the exam."
"Dave, during the test can video call only at night? After the exam I have to go to the library or find a lecturer for guidance again. I'm afraid I won't be able to or forget to call you."
"alright. Chat when you are free. Don't forget lunch. The vitamins I sent you, aren't you drinking?"
"There was.. There's.." press me. "For a long time you were like fathers."
"If you want to experience premature aging due to learning stress, starting next month I will not send it again" he threatened while bringing his face closer to the screen.
I laughed at his threat that was nothing like a threat to me. His sharp eyes were not at all creepy on the screen.
With UTS done, David and I finally made it through our first three months.
