~ Worry, confusion and panic. War over. Time to give up ~
Ave wanted to directly hit the red heart mark on the side of Zaid's comment. But Ave didn't want to be too hopeful. So he waited.
Alright. Waiting.
Ave put the phone on the table, looked at it for a while. Then stand up to go to the bathroom. But while brushing his teeth, he seemed to hear the sound of a cell phone ringing. With the toothbrush still tucked in his mouth, Ave approached the table. The phone screen looks black. No phone calls coming in. Just about to turn around, thought of something else.
What if Zaid calls him? What if another comment notification from Zaid comes in while he's in the bathroom?
Alright. Just take the phone to the bathroom!
Arriving in the bathroom, Ave was confused. Put it where? His eyes went around looking for the right position. Then his smile expanded when he saw the shelf where the towels were stacked. It is dry and safe from water. With a little tiptoe, Ave placed the phone on the stacked towels. Then he continued his toothbrush.
While humming a little, Ave completed the hygiene treatment before her sleep. After brushing his teeth, he washed his face and because he was too excited, his eyes were exposed to soap. Hurriedly Ave washed his sore eyes. Then with her eyes still closed next to her pain, Ave grabbed the towel.
He forgot that there was a cell phone on it. When his hand pulled the towel...
Duk! Drakes!
Ave's hand that was wiping the towel on her face stopped. His body froze before slowly glancing backwards. Towards the bathroom floor. The phone slammed in the reverse position. Not to mention he had time to pick it up, his phone rang. There's a phone coming in.
Rushing Ave crouched down picking it up. But the screen glass just scattered down. Broke it up. But still had time to display the name Natasha before disappearing and dying.
How'this? How's now? Ow hell! Help Ave! ave screamed inwardly, confused while going back and forth in the bathroom.
Ave rushed out and ran towards the main house. He remembered there was a regular phone in the house. He can use it to call Natasha and at least he can tell her that the phone is broken.
Justright. Ave found a phone in the living room. He sat on the couch and grabbed the phone. But once again he was silent.
There was no cell phone number for him to remember. The technology of storing contact data on the phone stores all those memories without the need to bother him to do. Now Ave realized the importance of storing things manually. It can't even display any contact data on the phone that can only work by touch.
Ave's shoulders slumped down. Baffled. Cook it until tomorrow? Oh no! Among all the afflictions, the loss of a cell phone is the culmination of stress. And Ave yelled in annoyance, "Aaakh!! Fuckin' shit!"
Feeling futile, Ave put the phone back on. But his eyes accidentally saw a small note. He grabbed it and began to look through the contents.
Phone book! Alhamdulillahot. Alhamdulillah, scream Ave pleasure.
However, the only mobile number he knew was Zaid. The rest were names and numbers he didn't know. It looks like this list only contains the mobile number of Zaid's family or friends.
But Ave was happy. Now he had a reason to talk to Prince Saljunya. Stupidity scolded. Stupid is considered stupid. Ave kangen heard his voice.
Eagerly Ave pressed the numbers according to Zaid's number. Then put the phone in her ear. Waiting.
Tut! Tut! Tut!
The number you are calling is busy...
Heh, busy? Clock this? Ave glanced at the wall clock. Almost 11 p.m. Who called Zaid last night? Wh who? His lover? Not likely. Zaid. Then.... Is that her ex-boyfriend? Nah! It could be his business partner who is different countries. Maybe their working hours are different.
Might as well...
So Ave repeated it again. Still busy. He waited a minute. Repeat once more. Still same. Ave waited longer and the results stayed busy.
Whoever it is there must be someone very important talking to Zaid. Someone who is not himself.
Listlessly, Ave put down the phone's handle and looked at her already cluttered phone screen. Never mind, it's all over. He could only wait until Zaid came home. Then explain everything. Zaid can't be angry with her anymore. Ave's world really felt gloomy without the Snow Prince. The cold-faced prince whose mere presence alone was enough to warm Ave's world.
While in the neighboring country, Zaid let out a long sigh hearing Natasha's anger.
"Gue enterin' Ave into your office, not for you haphazardly that, Id! New kid came afternoon you so, ya cry him! I know you did, I slapped you. After doing that, you left. The child of a confused person. You think you're Don Juan what?"
"Gue work here, Nat. There's meeting... "
"What meeting meeting!? I know you're impromptu to KL. Same with Zahra, right? Make what? You're still the cake, Id! Still like a kid. You used to be able to just escape. Now that too! You know how Ave cried because of lu cuekin?"
"Please, Nat! I'm so sorry." Zaid was completely speechless other than apologizing. He did not expect that Ave and Natasha's relationship was much closer than he imagined.
"STUPIDS! You are stupid, Id! Really stupid! Hurry you back! Definitely the same Ave if this is not his fault! I'm not good with her brother."
"Give me time, Nat! I'm just here this weekend. Let these three days I think what I should do. Sunday afternoon I'm home."
"OKAY. But you must clear everything the same Ave. How are people's children not confused? You used to crush him, suddenly realising the feeling. He obviously refused... Let alone him! I just don't want to. It's chic!"
If only he had not known her since High School, it would not have been possible for Zaid to receive such a long scolding. But that's how Natasha is. His language and rude attitude are only known to people who are very close. So he was no longer surprised by this treatment. Zaid was glad someone reminded him of his mistake. Even in a very unusual way.
"Ave is young, Id. From her brother and her best friend, I know that Ave has never dated. His life is not like yours. His life was up to take care of his late mother. It's only natural that he doesn't understand his own feelings. Naturally, he was shocked and rejected you. How do you actually? The mercury?"
"Gue just said... " Zaid was silent. He only realized that when he kissed Ave, he was just saying an implied message. It's never really clear. "... He can say that he doesn't like me... " Zaid's sentence stopped, his face held pias in shame.
"You kissed me?" connect Natasha. Suddenly his anger evaporated. He just remembered. Zaid may be older than her, but this is the first time Natasha has seen her best friend close to a girl. He tried to hold back his laughter.
With a big smile, Natasha said. "Well, that's what made Ave reject you, Id. He's obviously scared. You're fickle. Yesterday you said she can't date, you're angry that she's close to Ajie and now, all of a sudden you're acting like that. His job is a bet. Anyone must be scared."
Natasha's breath on the other end of the phone. "Zaid, I think it's best to show your feelings first through good treatment with him! Reassure him first, then you try to talk to him again. I think that's the best thing right now."
Shortly after that, the phone ended. Everything is getting better now. Natasha promises to help Zaid if he is done with his latest movie promo. But before that Zaid will talk to Ave.
"Who is that, Bang? Your buddy?" That question made Zaid look up. There's Zahra, her brother out of the room.
Zaid nodded. "Yes, Brother. My friend in Jakarta. Brother not sleeping? I'm sorry if my voice woke up Brother."
Zahra smiled and sat down next to her sister. "No, Bang. We rarely get to meet. No papa. My usual sister hasn't slept at this hour. Beberes for tomorrow. But by the way.you show up like this, keep calling your friend who is like someone shouting it... There's a problem in Jakarta, Dek?"
At that time the screen of Zaid's phone was on. Some notifications coming in. Zaid explained. "Shortly, Brother! Someone called me earlier."
Zahra nodded while standing up. "Yes, you call me back. Who knows it's important. Brother take a drink first."
Zaid's eyes stared at the phone number. That's his home phone number. Who'sisthis? With one swipe, Zaid called back. Once, twice, three times, and then when the ringing to all times, Zaid's patience began to thin.
There was only Ave in his house. Slowly the worry crept in. This time Zaid replaced the number he was aiming for with Ave's mobile number. Again he repeated many times, but the answer was the same. Ave number is inactive.
Zayd began to despair. He stood up, walking back and forth while continuing to call Ave's home phone number and cell phone alternately. No one answered at all. His behavior made Zahra who came out carrying a glass of water wonder.
"What's up, Bang? How did you panic?" ask Zahra confused.
Zaid looked at it. "Someone called, but I didn't answer, sister. Home phone and cell phone. All is unanswered."
"Maybe he's asleep, Dek."
"But this... "
"You're panicking too much. Nevermind! Just rest first. Tomorrow you tell me," said Zahra calmly as she climbed the stairs.
Feeling that Zahra might be right, Zaid went into his own room. However, his heart still felt uneasy. He tried calling again. Still no answer. His heart suddenly thumped. His worries are getting worse. The clock was moving normally, but Zaid felt everything was going too slow than usual.
By midnight, Zaid's entire worry could no longer be contained. With one swipe, he chose the ticket booking application. Today too, he must return to Jakarta. Then he started putting things back in his little suitcase and backpack that he just took out last night.
After the dawn prayer, he said goodbye to his brother. Although the plane had just flown at 7 am, Zaid asked to be delivered as soon as possible to the airport. Although astonished, Zahra did not ask much. He was used to facing his closed sister.
Not just waiting, Zaid contacted Jenny and Hazmi to check his house using a spare key stored in his office drawer.
Not until the next three hours, Zaid was in a taxi to his house. His mind was not calm, but he continued to recite prayers. I hope nothing happens to Ave.
As Zaid got out of the taxi in a hurry and almost left his suitcase, Hazmi was already standing at the door waiting for him.
"Ave how? Is he all right?" ask Zaid.
"Ave?" Hazmi looked confused.
Zaid looked at Hazmi. He also does not understand. "Where's Jenny?" ask Zaid as he steps in.
"Oh, we just arrived too, sir. Jenny's inside. Go in first and go to the toilet for a while. But my father's house is fine. Nothing is strange."
Zaid looked quickly. "It's not my house I told you to check. But Ave! How's Ave doing?" ask her while passing Hazmi. Get inside the house.
Hazmi stood in confusion. Staring at his boss's back was full of question marks, but the taxi driver had already called him and thrust out Zaid's newly-dropped suitcase.
Inside, Zaid meets Jenny who just came out of the toilet. The girl looked astonished. He did not expect Zaid to return so soon. Just last night the boss left, but the next morning he was in Jakarta again.
"How's ave?"
"Ave?" Jenny is confused, looking at Zaid and then moves on to Hazmi who is pushing the suitcase in. He can only shake.
Hazmi's feet also stopped stepping. "I mean Father... Ave lives here?" ask Hazmi.
Zaid just remembered. No one knows except the two of them and the Eagle. Neither are his two confidants who actually help him recruit Ave as Chef at his home. Zaid looked at the two dumbly faced faces in front of him before finally sighing.
"Later I was in the office. Let's see Ave's situation. Last night I got an emergency call from him." Without waiting any longer, Zaid walked quickly towards the small pavilion behind his house.
"Ve?" call Zaid while knocking on the door. There was no answer, so he decided to push the door. The door handle was easily turned. Not locked.
Zaid's heart stopped beating. He accelerated his movement. Enter without a second thought and stare around the room, looking for Ave.
The girl he was looking for fell asleep while lying on her stomach on the bed. There was an open laptop in front of him and his ears were clogged with headsets. Slowly Zaid entered, approaching Ave. The girl looked fine. He's just asleep. His clogged ears became the answer of an unanswered phone.
Then Zaid moved the laptop and accidentally the monitor that was resting was on. Showing a proposal that Ave is working on. Relax, Zaid sat at the end of the bed and looked through the contents of the seemingly finished proposal. Until Ave's body moves, move to a more comfortable position.
Zaid smiled, standing and putting Ave's laptop on the table. But he instead finds Ave's broken cell phone lying on the table. Zaid was glad to see it. All the questions all night were answered already.
After enveloping Ave, Zaid sat on the edge of the bed looking at the girl. Looking at Ave who was fast asleep, he began to sleepy. Since yesterday he went back and forth on the plane, did not sleep at all and now his eyes are no longer able to compromise.
Just a moment.
