~ Important! Claim territorial love before claimed others. (Zaid) ~
But Zaid never thought that chasing Ave's love wasn't as easy as he thought. After taking the hasty decision to move Ave to the Creative department, he now begins to regret the decision.
Ave was even angry and they had a cold war again.
"What's wrong Ave, sir? Because Ave didn't give up the proposal on time?" asked Ave the day she received an email notification of her new assignment.
Zaid himself forgot about his decision. Throughout the weekend, he enjoyed the fun days with Ave. Not much they do. Just eat together, go for a walk, watch television and the rest chat casually. More precisely let Ave babble and he listened.
"Not that, Ve," Zaid said.
Ave put a USB on Zaid's desk. "That's the proposal you asked for. Ave asked for time because he wanted to finish it well. Not perfunctory."
Zaid stared at the USB and then looked back at Ave. "Ve... That's not. In Creative, you can develop your potential. You can focus more on doing something that could be your skill" Zaid explained.
"Isn't it because you don't want to see Ave again? Because Ave refused the Father?" cecar Ave's. His lips began to pout.
Zaid laughed wryly. "Do you think I'm that cute, Ve?"
Ave knew, he had already offended Zaid's pride. The girl chose silence.
"You can say anything. But in the office, you're just Avelia. My staff. Just like Jenny, Hazmi, Denny, Akbar, Mr. Wiryo... No more than that. I'm asking you to be a little professional too, Ve. You think after I confess my feelings the same you keep you can just as casually? I wouldn't be sitting in this chair if I couldn't distinguish my personal feelings from my work. Or do you want to try to feel fired just because you can't tell the two things apart?" asked Zaid in a threatening voice.
Only Ave's eyes were like wanting to sharpen, against Zaid's sharp gaze, fighting him wordlessly. Then the girl turned around, leaving Zaid's study. Without saying goodbye, that day Ave also moved to the Creative department office. The cold war repeated itself. Throughout the week, Ave served Zaid as a chef with no interaction at all. Zaid repeatedly fished for chat, but Ave always dodged. Uniquely, they still go and go home from the office together. Only difference is there is no chat as warm as usual.
Who would have thought, in his new office, Ave was easily accepted. The male staff instantly fell in love with the jolly and humorous girl. Not until a week, the sound of laughter always filled the workspace of the Creative department, which is inversely proportional to the Management department which now feels lonely.
"No one's outside, Jen?" asked Zaid as he signed some documents.
Jenny just smiled wryly. "There, Sir. Complete."
Zaid raised his head. "But how lonely?"
"There's no Ave, sir. So quiet," said Jenny while pulling back all the documents that have been signed. Jenny's face is back to how it was since Ave moved in. It was gloomy and not much of a smile, and then it passed from before Zaid. Leaving the man leaning his back against the chair while sighing.
Therefore, Zaid reasoned to want to review the workings of the Creative team. He accidentally asks Hazmi to prepare for a routine meeting of the Creative team. He wanted to find the right reason to bring his beloved girl back to Management, without offending Ave. He began to miss the girl's jokes and seduction. Perhaps Ave was not at home in his new office until he raised the war flag. That means if he wants to bring the girl back, there's no problem.
Just what happened, Zaid actually had to resist jealousy. From behind the glass that became the wall of the meeting room, he could see Ave sitting surrounded by male staff. He could not hear their chatter, but the laughter that was seen several times made Zaid grow furious. Whereas on the other side of the meeting table, there was a group of female staff chatting.
"Sometimes humans should also mark their territory, sir."
A voice that sounded suddenly, made Zaid slightly jump. There Hazmi stood beside him while smiling meaningfully. Zaid scrunched his forehead confused, not understanding the intentions of his assistant.
"Ave." whispered Hazmi. Then lowered his head slightly near Zaid's ears. "Lo's jealous, isn't he, Id?"
When Hazmi uses that casual tone of speech, it means that she is currently considering Zaid as her best friend. Not many know, Zaid and Hazmi used to be good friends while still in High School.
Zaid stared intently at Hazmi without speaking.
"Kalo lo not in a hurry. I'm sure the girl you like will be grabbed by people. Ave is beautiful so. Humorists anyway. You have many rivals" whispered Hazmi again.
Zaid's face turned dark. Hazmi enjoyed it. For a long time he had not seen emotions as clear as the present on Zaid's face. Apparently, Zaid was also an ordinary human. He could fall in love. Not the cold man he had been expecting all along.
"Lo could have been better than me or any of my friends. But as Rick says, you're too conservative and apathetic in women's affairs. Too passive. If the girl you face is a model Maya or other friends seleb lo, I'm sure there is no problem. But this... Ave loh's... " A sneering grin is seen on Hazmi's face as she sees Zaid's face getting gloomy.
"Lo knows the average Creative staff of badboy and playboy types. Humorous girls love badboys and girls**** playboy likes the most," said Hazmi more fun scaring. "Lo still want the way we used to be if you nandain chick, right, Id? Why don't you try?"
Zaid's memory goes back to old school days. Every time a girl is judged by her friends, they always tell the rest of the school. Even if the girl doesn't like them at all. If they can't be the lover of the idol, then it's better that girl doesn't belong to anyone. It's one he doesn't like about his best friends.
Zaid looked at Hazmi. "Happy? You think I'm gonna follow your lowly ways?" Without a care, Zaid leaves Hazmi, entering the meeting room.
But no one knew Zaid's eyes didn't glance at the slide screen at all because the lights were turned off. The man's eyes were busy looking at Ave who seemed to be watching the slide screen closely. The girl always looks different when she does something seriously.
Ave's hands occasionally mended her unraveling haircut, tucked in her ears, and refocused. The clear eyes glowed from a distance and Zaid could not stop his small smile, as he could see Ave desperately trying to hide the movement of his mouth that was about to yawn.
She just looks so beautiful.
"... Even though we think, the budget will be a problem on its own. But we have prepared the possibility to use graphics. So in this case, we have two options to offer to clients. For that, we ask for your next suggestion, whether we offer both of these options at once or just one that we will choose?" ask one of the team members who then looks towards Zaid.
Zaid's focus, which was entirely on Ave, left the man unaware of the question. He just nodded.
Because Zaid never answered, one by one all the meeting participants glanced at their boss. The one being stared at remained oblivious, until Hazmi rebuked a little loudly. "Sir Zaid!"
"Huh? What's?" ask Zaid confused.
While putting on a thin smile that clearly looks irritated, Hazmi repeats the questioner.
"Ah. that... Just one. Offer the second one first. Unless the client asks for something else, you can do it again from both. But who designed the second concept?" ask Zaid, while checking the slide on the iPad in front of him.
The staff man who was standing in front smiled as he pointed towards Ave. "Neng Avelia, sir. Neng Ave will explain further."
Neng Ave... what?
In just one week, they've been this familiar? Already mention each other with nicknames with such affectionate tones?
The so-called name smiled at everyone, before standing up. Then with confidence, Avelia began to explain her idea, occasionally the male staff who had introduced her chimed in on the explanation. They complement each other's presentation explanations, even throwing a little joke makes everyone unable to hold their laughter.
Enough's enough!
"Enough!" zaid said spitting out his heart involuntarily. The room that was just starting to get a little boisterous, was instantly silent. All the gazes were on him again.
Ave's explanation and the man's staff were not finished yet. But the word 'enough' that came out of Zaid's lips made everyone astonished. Zaid knew he was starting to lose control again. Finally, after a few seconds, he shook his hand. "Continue! But not too soon. I was less listening to that."
But Zaid never really listened until the meeting was over. His head was busy making plans. Then when the meeting was over and everyone started to get busy standing up, Zaid picked up his phone, checking for a bit.
"Ve?"
Ave who was ready to leave the chair, turned to Zaid. "Yes, Sir?" Not only did he stop moving, but everyone kept waiting.
Casually, Zaid's fingers played his phone. "Ve, I have an appointment with Natasha tonight. Talk about the schedule. Would you like to come with me and eat out or eat alone at home? I went home probably around. hmm. You don't papa I live alone? Dare to?"
Ave's body couldn't move. The more Zaid spoke, the paler his face became. He could feel everyone's gaze now moving onto him. Entirely. Staring in curiosity. Even Hazmi, who had suspected her boss relationship with Ave was not an ordinary boss-employee relationship, stared at Zaid in disbelief.
"That's... " Ave was at a loss for words. Staring at all who were also staring at him, with an uneasy feeling.
"Please excuse me, sir!" exclaim one of the Creative staff before hastily disappearing as quickly as possible from before Zaid. The others too. It was like they had wheels on their feet, sliding quickly out of the meeting room which now felt smaller.
Only Hazmi stood up holding a smile, patted Zaid on the shoulder and whispered, "You did it well, Mate!" Then while throwing the same smile at Ave, the man walked out of the room.
I want to feel Ave screaming. He tried hard to hide the fact of the relationship between himself and Zaid, but with just a line of sentences, now all employees of The Crown will immediately know their relationship. Just waiting for time.
You Cold Man! Ice Brain! Selfish! Professional what? Home business why brought to the office!?!
Without saying anything, Ave threw a sharp glare like thousands of daggers were raining down on Zaid's body. But the man just shrugged with a smile and walked out. Satisfied managed to 'mark' the territorial area of his power.
Ave is just his.
