~ Meetings with old friends it is always filled with memories and. questions ~.
As the blue sky turns dark, all staff and employees including Zaid and Avelia gather at the hotel's garden gazebo in a barbecue party that will end their short vacation. In that excitement, there was no longer any distance between them. Laughter has not stopped since the beginning of the party. With an abundance of food on a large table surrounded by everyone, Avelia became the center of attention. Beside him Zaid sat quietly without much to say other than occasionally smiling. Not many know, under the big table, Ave's right hand is tied to Zaid's left hand.
"Mas, Ave wants to eat the satellite. Ave must eat with his left hand. Release first!" pinta Ave half whispered, trying to let go of her hand. But Zaid tightened his grip.
Without saying anything, Zaid picked up one of the satay and thrust it in front of Ave's mouth, coding the girl to start eating. Not only that, Zaid also offered a glass of water. After that, Ave began to dare to point at the food he wanted. Dutifully, Zaid took one by one, feeding Ave even rubbed the tissue to remove the bean sauce stain that was on the corner of Ave's lips.
Seductive whistles rang out from the male staff's lips accompanied by the laughter and timid gazes of the female staff.
"Duh make ngiri! Suddenly no hands, Ve?" seductive Rose while staring meaningfully.
Ave just laughed coyly and chose to enjoy Zaid's special treatment. He was truly grateful that their relationship was not only condoned by everyone, but also considered as something normal for them.
After feeding Ave, Zaid also took satay for his own meal.
With his mouth still full, Ave began to ask, "now guess why people who want to hide?"
Rose who was sitting next to Ave instantly coughed, barely choking. Fortunately Mike hurriedly thrust out a glass of water, and patted his back gently.
Zaid's mouth that was eating was also instantly frozen, turning to the girl beside him. Not only was he speechless, the faces of everyone around them who heard the question also changed drastically. It was obvious that their tastes were instantly reduced by half.
"Ve, we're eating, you're doing that anyway? Slobbery!" exclaimed Alina who also immediately stopped her movement who was scooping the salad.
Ave's hands were waving in front of his face. "No really! Not this slob!"
"Yes, we don't know. You know that. Answer it! Let's finish," said Mike who is familiar with the character Ave.
It must be something that will make everyone laugh. So before that happened, Mike hurriedly swallowed his food and emptied his own mouth. It could be dangerous if the contents of his mouth sprayed towards the beautiful Rose who happened to be sitting next to him. Rose just coughed so, let alone him later.
Ave pouty. "Can't do it dong! I have to answer first." Then the girl looked at Zaid. "Or gini aja, who can answer a little given bonus a month equal pay Mr. Zaid. How's it?"
Zaid's hand, which was holding Ave's hand, pressed stronger until the girl grimaced.
"Oh, ouch!" screeches Ave. He glared at Zaid. "So calm, no one can."
"When anyone can, it's your salary that I deduct for their bonuses!" sahut Zaid doesn't care.
"Iiish, stingy! Yes, cut it!" said Ave fiercely.
"I'll answer, Ve!" exclaim Mr. Bambang while raising his hand. Before that he caught Zaid's eye signal to her.
Ave delicates. "No! No! Father cannot. Your salary is bigger than Ave's salary, the salary of Ave dong is cut all! What do you eat, dong?! No!"
Everyone laughed looking at Ave's paled face. But Mr. Bambang did not care, assisted by whispers from around him he replied, "That's dirt, Ve. Must be ashamed if you don't hide."
Ave's panicked face changed. His special grin appeared. "IIih Pak Bambang means like slovenly. Must be my own experience, right? If you're snooping, you'll like to hide." He laughed with satisfaction.
Laughter sounded once again. Mr. Bambang could only shake. The staff on this one is very good at tongue-licking.
"But that answer is correct, Ve?" asked Jack whose laughter was still on his face.
Ave shakes. "Saaa! Come on, is that time already on, you know?"
"Reply answer me! Before you are attacked by those who have been beaten up by the mute." This time it was Zaid who chimed in. His hand grabbed the wine that was in front of him.
"Really yak? Okay, that's it." Ave straightened his back. "The answer if frankly ngupil again ngupil, anter Mbak-mbak and Mas-mas on the scramble deh want to try the taste."
"Aveeeeee!" an annoyed shout sounded compact around Ave who was laughing out loud by himself. Satisfied with everyone. Even so anxious, Zaid squeezed the girl's nose until she grimaced. Seeing Ave's agonized expression, everyone laughed.
Then one guess, followed by another, and laughter filled the garden. Some guests who happened to pass by smiled at the carefree atmosphere of the family. It is rare for a company gathering to be so 'live' like that. Apparently, this company is one of the companies that really prioritize togetherness.
In the parking lot, a man dressed in a T-shirt and jacket with a police logo got off the car, while looking at the hotel's garden which was much brighter and crowded than usual. He looked at his wife who was also down.
"I guess there's another gathering, Dek?" ask the man as he approaches his wife.
The wife nodded. "Yes, Bang. Said Father, a company from Jakarta. But relax, the restaurant is not rame. I have a special message for us. Rarely does Bang Jay relax like this."
The husband laughed and grabbed his wife's hand. "Year of year the wife must be accompanied. You can't forget."
"Why, Bang?"
"I think I saw my friend Dek" he said with a frown. Trying to make sure his gaze was right on one of the figures sitting among the people who were partying.
The wife does not want to lose. She also looked at her husband's eyes. "Whose guy, Bang?"
"That's a loh, Deck! Who sits in the middle of it. The other is that smile" said the husband, pointing.
Following the direction of her husband's index finger, the wife began to observe the man. But the only concern was the girl next to the man. "Loooh, that's Avelia, Bang!"
"Avelia? Ave's Ajie's sister?" ask the confused husband. He watched the girl his wife had appointed.
But his wife did not wait for her husband again, she immediately stepped closer to the place of the feast. Little rush. There was a smile on his face. He really misses Ave. They haven't met for a long time.
"ave off! Avelia!" call the wife as soon as she gets close enough to the big table where the party is going on.
Ave who was laughing turned his head and his eyes almost jumped out when he saw the woman. "Sir Tiaaar!!" his shout did not want to lose, making everyone speechless.
Rushing Ave got up from the chair and ran towards Tiar, hugging his best friend longing. For almost three months they did not meet, other than joking through social media groups. Of course, he could not hide his happiness.
Everyone looked at both. Come to feel the intimacy of the two friends. From Ave's remarks, it was clear that this pregnant woman named Tiar had a very good relationship with him.
But when everyone looked at the two women, Zaid looked at the man behind the two. Zaid's face changed little by little when he realized that he did not see wrong. The man was also staring at him. Smiling warmly at her just like before, many years ago when they were still schoolmates.
"Yes?" Zaid called his best friend's name while standing up and approached the man who was now standing near Tiar and Ave who were still letting go of each other's longs.
"How are you, Id? Long time no see!" sapa Jaya relaxed, raising her hands.
"Oh... Jaya right? Jaya January! Jesus, you're a cop?" Zaid could not hide his surprise. Still with enthusiasm, he welcomed Jaya's hand. But Jaya instead turned the handshake into a shootout, a typical greeting when they were teenagers first.
Replace Tiar and Ave who turned to them, surprised to see the unexpected intimacy of Zaid and Jaya. Moreover, the staff who just saw Zaid can be warm to a man who he said was a policeman. Not usually Zaid has friends outside the advertising world.
"Well, I know you're the boss now. It's great! It's amazing, Id! Long time no see this great."
"Lo how are you?" exciting Zaid. His eyes glowed happily. Jay is one of the best friends he has ever had. The person who is involved changes himself first. He had long wanted to know how he was. But I accidentally met you at this place.
They exchanged brief information. Zaid tells her new address, while Jaya informs her that she has just been transferred to Jakarta. They also exchanged phone numbers. Now with his wife, he lives in one of the apartments in Jakarta. Tonight was his wife's birthday, so he came to celebrate.
"Oh my goodness. This is my wife, Id! Tiar his name," said Zaid while embracing Tiar's shoulder.
"Oh, this?" Zaid greeted Tiar before turning to Ave who was smiling at him. "Ave's friend too? I'm Zaid, Brother. Junior High School and High School Jaya."
"Tiar," Tiar replied kindly.
Ave nodded excitedly. "Yeah. Ave also knew Bang Jaya. Hello Bang! Still want to be with Ave, right?" greet Ave while waving at Jaya.
Jay laughed a little. He stroked Ave's head. "Of course, your ex can forget."
The sentence made Tiar, Jaya and Ave look at each other before they both laughed meaningfully.
But not with Zaid staring in wonder. There was a little heat in his chest hearing the words that his best friend had uttered. Although his tone was joking, but the word 'former' was really disliked.
"Gue say goodbye, Id. Want to take my wife first. Please continue with the meal. We'll talk again, Id." Jaya held Tiar's hand, then turned to everyone who was still sitting. "All of you, excuse me. Please enjoy! Good night!"
"Night, Paak!"
Until Jaya and Tiar disappear behind the door of the restaurant, Zaid keeps paying attention. He looked at Ave who had sat back down and continued his joke. Jaya's last sentence makes her wonder about the identity of this girl. The longer, the more curious. But Zaid knew, Ave would definitely ask him to wait again if he asked. Just like always.
Jay is his old friend. Time might change someone, but Zaid believes Jaya is still the same as it used to be. His best friend was definitely willing to tell him about Avelia that he knew. Zaid hopes, whatever the information, this does not mean breaking his friendship with Jaya.
Zaid picked up his phone and texted the number Jaya had just given him before sighing long while looking at Ave.
He just really wants to know. Although in his little heart, Zaid hoped, he did not want to hear bad news at all. Ave is already part of the future he plans to have, and Zaid doesn't want to let go of it. But the only thing Zaid wants right now is that he knows all about Ave. As bad as it is, he will try to accept it.
