Chapter 67 - The Recovery Period [Lucky Has Gone]

"What's up, Bella? Notify me? Is Lucky acting again? Why your lips and shoulders?" Ben gives Bella a back-to-back question. But the girl in front of him was just silent and busy wiping away the tears.

"Come, Bella. Tell me." Ben urges.

"none. You're fine now" Bella said with a faint smile. He slowly took off the rope that tied Ben. Then take the man out of the room.

When he opens the door, Ben and Bella's vision is immediately greeted by Lucky's colleagues. Robert and his friends were caught eavesdropping.

"Are you now Ben?" Liam ensure.

Ben then nodded. He stared one by one at the faces of Lucky's colleagues. Ben did not expect, Robert and his friends turned out to have a sense of care for him. Since that day they have been on good terms. Ben even accompanies Bella to pay an appointment. I finished the truth or dare game.

Day by day passed. One month passed. Lucky never showed up again. Ben's been taking care of the inheritance to Billy. He does not have as much treasure as before. Even so, Ben is planning something related to his work and future.

Accompanied by Bella and new people, Ben builds a restaurant called Downtown. He realized his dream of becoming a master chef. Ben's restaurant is located a few blocks from Bella's bar. Now Bella and her friends are there to help. They were busy decorating the restaurant.

Bella put up some furniture with Cecil. He does his job carefully. While Ben who just appeared from the kitchen, immediately interested to look at him from a distance.

"I hear you've been to see David a lot. You and that middle-aged man are already very familiar. Because of you, David can remember Bella well. Know it? Bella is so happy. He even intends to take David out of the nursing home" Brian said. Long story at length.

"Eitherway. David and I have had a good connection since we first met. I'm happy, if what I'm doing makes Bella happy, too" Ben responded. Her attenuation is not diverted from Bella's.

"I hope Lucky will never show up again." Brian patted Ben's shoulder twice. He soon joined Bella and Cecil.

Not long after, Robert and his friends arrived. As a result of Lucky's departure, The Dark Place's stronghold is divided. There are some who refuse to leave the world of evil. Only a small percentage are willing to help Ben. About eight people. Including Robert, Liam, and Sean. They agree to be workers at Ben's restaurant and will get used to doing good.

Despite getting enough crew, Ben still needs important people who will help in the kitchen. He needs a great team. Until the search for people was done by Jimmy and Brian.

By spreading advertising over the internet, several candidates started to arrive. Ben, Bella, Brian, and Jimmy, now sitting in rows together. Just like a jury doing an assessment.

A man of Norwegian descent is seen cooking in the kitchen. His name is Nate. He is young, handsome, and talented. His cooking skills are pretty convincing. The man cut the vegetables quickly, and could perform the flambe technique without any distractions.

Bella and Cecil clapped. They were amazed at the gastronomy Nate had. But not for Ben, watching Bella smile when she saw another man, made her heart unsettled.

"He seems ordinary to me" Ben commented with a flat expression. He folded his hands in front of his chest. Acting arrogant out of jealousy.

"Are you kidding me? Of the many candidates who came, only he almost has the skills as good as you," said Bella. His forehead was puzzled. Nate was the last candidate to sign up. Bella's just worried, Ben's not gonna find a better one. Given that Ben's psychiatric illness has already spread widely. Who wants to work with people with mental illness?

"That's not the problem. I don't think I'll get along with him." Ben insists. Causing Bella can only squeak her eyes.

"Lucky is gone. But your arrogant demeanor never goes away," Bella replied with a rude snort.

"What's? Now you're insinuating me? I'm just being honest. After all this is my restaurant, I deserve to find the best among the best!" Ben doesn't want to lose. Over time the debate heated up. This is the first time that Ben and Bella are dating.

"Whatever you say!" Bella got up from the seat. Then I got out of the restaurant with a pouting face.

"Are you angry?!" asked Ben who was a bit surprised.

"You better go after Bella. He might not be here anymore" Cecil said. Come heat up Ben.

Before leaving, Ben tells Nate to leave the kitchen. He still insisted on rejecting Nate.

"Damn it! You think I want to work with someone like you?! Surely not!" Nate was very upset that he was rejected. He rushes off after scattering the trash in Ben's kitchen.

"Hey!" scold Ben. He and Brian immediately dragged Nate out of the restaurant.

When he was outside the restaurant, Ben could see Bella who walked further and further. Afraid the girl's anger will be severe, Ben eventually chases. He runs and manages to intercept Bella's departure.

"You know? The reason I don't accept Nate is because I don't like to see you staring at Nate like that" Ben said. Given how Bella looked at the Norwegian man earlier. Filled with twists of admiration and fissures of smiles.

Bella rounded her eyes. Then a little laugh for a moment. "So you're jealous because of that little thing?" his question.

"Eitherway. I just don't like-" Ben paused, when Bella grabbed his lips with a kiss. Ben's attitude makes Bella feel anxious and can not help herself.

"You turned out to be quite possessive" Bella said. After her lips stopped clinging to Ben's mouth.

"I'm not possessive. It just happened. I really don't like Nate. His skills were not great in my eyes. My restaurant should have the best kitchen team" Ben replied, dismissing Bella's statement.

"That's it, Ben." Bella turned the puffed-up eyeball. He tried to understand Ben's arrogant attitude that never faded. They immediately waltzed together on the sidewalk streets. Both decided to go home. It's afternoon anyway. Nate was the last remaining candidate. Ben needs to wait for more people to sign up again.

Three weeks later, Ben no longer finds anyone who signs up for his restaurant. It turns out that starting a business is not as easy as Ben thought. The man sat in front of the restaurant.

Bella who saw, join in. He sat right next to Ben. Staring at the man she loved from the side.

"Ben, do you realize two months have passed?" chirps Bella while turning her eyes forward. Circumstances turn. Now it was Ben who was staring at Bella from the side.

"Yes?" Ben demanded an answer.

"Lucky is no more. He's already gone. At least you can go back to normal now. Even so, I can't sentence you to be cured" Bella said.

"I hope Lucky will never come back. Thanks for everything..." Ben clasped Bella's fingers.

A smile on Bella's face. He then said, "Regarding your restaurant, I have an idea that you can get workers easily."

"How's it?" ask Ben.

Bella brought her mouth closer to Ben's ear. He whispered his brilliant idea which instantly made Ben grin.

Flambe technique: is one of the cooking techniques by lighting a fire in cooking. Usually the technique is done, so that the fire burns on it.
