Chapter 13: The Man

"Where is Kate? why are you preparing food for me?" jully asks when she sees Robert coming in to bring food for her. Not usually the man plontos was willing to take care of it except when Kate was on a mission to steal.

"Did you send Kate into danger again?" Jully felt strange because Robert did not answer her. She believes Kate is not home right now.

"You just calm down. Kate didn't go on a mission. But to work."

Jully frowned. Work it? Since when did Robert allow Kate to work? He felt Robert was hiding something. During this time, every time Kate wanted to find a job out there, Robert always banned her. He will give Kate the task of continuing to train her skills in martial arts and learn new techniques for stealing. So it sounded weird when Robert said Kate was at work.

"Every night he left. He wanted to say goodbye to you but you slept so well. That's why he just sent me a message. I've already banned him. But I think before there's a new target, it's better to work first" Robert exclaimed.

Not yet Kate spoke, the man who had just got the title of a cursed creature from Kate, went down the stairs and stood nearby.

"Yes, sir." replied James. His eyes could not be separated from the woman currently standing near Steven.

Steven knew what his assistant had in mind. But seeing James staring at Kate like this somehow made her unhappy.

"Good eyes, James!!!"

James nodded and bowed. She was just wondering why Miss Jenny was wearing a maid outfit. Ah no!! if you look deeper, the woman looks different from Jennifer. But.... I don't know. He just wanted to know where Steven got the woman from. Is Steven going crazy and looking for a woman who looks like his ex-lover to be in for an outlet? I hope what he thinks is not right.

"Give me your hand!!" orders to Kate.

"For what?"

"Dare to argue?"

Kate snorted and extended her hand. Steven put a bracelet on Kate's hand. What a beautiful bracelet. Is Steven proposing to her? Haha, I don't think that's possible.

"What's that?" ask Kate.

"You're not blind, are you?"

Kate growled. He knows if it's a bracelet, but why did Steven give him a bracelet?

"This bracelet is very special and is designed specifically to catch mice like you." exclaimed Steven who got a plot from Kate.

Steven chuckled and again said, "This bracelet can't be removed without my fingerprints and inside this bracelet is a tracking device. So wherever you go, I can catch you again."

Kate pulled her hand from Steven's. He tried to remove the bracelet in his hand. But instead of being detached, the bracelet actually made his hand hurt.

Steven smiled sinisterly and pulled Kate's hand. He pressed the silver-colored diamond and the bracelet opened. Kate rubbed her sore wrist. But again Steven pulled his hand and put the bracelet back on his hand.

"I don't have to bother watching you. With this thing in your hands, I can tell your position. And I suggest you don't try to destroy this bracelet or you'll lose your life."

Losing life just from destroying the bracelet that was coiled around his wrist? It's crazy!! this is totally insane. Is he going to be the slave of that accursed man for life? argh. He was just a day so upset. Especially if it's days, months or maybe years. Like her after this she had to talk about this to the accursed man. Until when he was punished like this.
