Chapter 28: The Dilemma

After hearing Steven's remarks the other day, Kate starts avoiding Steven. He'll be doing his job when Steven's gone to the office. Even he prepared all the necessities Steven needed when the man had not yet woken up from his sleep. If Kate accidentally crosses paths with Steven, she'll behave like any other maid. Bowing respect without a word.

It made Steven feel strange. There will usually be a debate between them. But now, let alone arguing, even talking they were rare now. Kate will just shut up and if asked, she will answer as necessary. It really made Steven's heart become empty.

Kate would have been quiet with him but he would have spoken at length with James. They even look familiar now. Occasionally, James would take Kate to the training arena and practice using weapons and so on.

As of right now, Kate is in the training arena. He shot the target board on target.

"Well, you're so great, miss." exclaimed James

"Thank you James. But can you throw away the lady's call? I'm afraid to hear it. All the maids and guards did the same. Don't we have the same position? Even your standing is higher than mine."

James and Kate looked at the source of the voice. There, Steven walked by putting both his hands in his pants pocket. The gaze was so intimidating, that all who were there did not dare to hold their heads up. And Kate too. He's also down. Not because he was scared, but he was reluctant to see Steven.

"Sorry sir, I'm training the bodyguard and Miss Kate is joining. So then....

Steven raised his hand which made James stop talking.

"You can all go." cried Steven

James bowed, he and the other bodyguards left the training ground. And Kate too. But Steven's words stopped Kate's steps. "Except Kate Berley."

There are only Steven and Kate in the training arena. They were silent for a while until Steven ventured closer and hugged Kate from behind. That surprised Kate.

"What are you doing, sir? Please release!!" Kate tries to release Steven's hand that is coiled in her stomach. But instead of being detached, the embrace was getting tighter.

"Let's be like this for a minute." Steven drowned his face in the recess of Kate's neck. She can smell Kate's vanilla-flavored body.

Strange, women like Kate why have an intoxicating body scent. I don't think Steven wants to move.

"What's the matter exactly?" ask Kate

"I should have asked you. What the hell are you really doing? You kind of shut me up." cried Steven. He broke his arms and stood in front of Kate. "Did I make a mistake to the point that you were acting like this to me? I'd rather you're a chatty one than you're a quiet one."

Kate clucking. He had listened carefully to Steven's words but at the end of the day he said it was chatty. Basic sucks.

Steven lifts Kate's chin until their sight meets. Slowly Steven brought his face closer and put his lips on Kate's lips.

There was no rejection from Kate because she herself also missed the kiss. Their tongues are twisting each other. The crack of their kiss sounded so loud in a desolate place that there were only the two of them.

Steven's getting brutal. He pushed Kate gently into a corner on the wall. They exchanged saliva and deepened their kisses. It was as if they were channeling their longing for the two of them.

Steven let go of his kiss. Their breaths hunt each other. It's a kiss they've done somehow. But this time there was a longing between the two.

But the door that opened suddenly made them startled and turned back away, as if nothing had happened.

Brach

"What's up James? Why are you in such a hurry?" ask Steven

"In_outside the Master. Outside..."

"Speak clearly!! what's outside?" shouts Steven who is impatient and also curious. What's really outside? did an enemy attack them?

Unable to get an answer from James, Steven came out to see what happened. And Kate too. He wondered what was out there? But James kept him. If James looked worried, James's face looked serious.

"There's something I want to talk to you about, miss." exclaimed James.

Meanwhile, Steven walked into the living room where all the maids were gathered there. They looked down waiting for someone's orders.

"What's this about? Why are you gathered here?" Steven broke through the ranks of the maids and saw a woman he knew very well standing not far from him.

"Jenny." Steven said

The woman's lips expanded when she saw the idol standing in front of her. He ran and hit the chest of the field of men that he missed so much. " Sir..!! I returned. I miss you, baby."

The woman who is none other than Jennifer, hugged the sturdy body of Steven, the man he had thrown in order to achieve the ideals of becoming an international model. And now he's back because his contract is over. He decides to meet Steven first and hopes that the man will still accept him.

Steven fell silent. He doesn't know what to do. Even how she feels now, she doesn't know. She missed Jennifer all along. Even he still loves that woman. But after the woman stood in front of him, Steven somehow felt ordinary.

From the back, Kate came with James walking beside her. He saw Steven cuddling with a beautiful and graceful woman. No!! they didn't cuddle, but it was the woman who hugged Steven. But even so I don't know why there is pain in his heart.

James glanced at Kate and held her shoulder. Kate looked at the thinly smiling James who was barely visible. It's the first time James has been like that to her. After this, they will become partners.

Feeling caught off guard by the sickening scene before her, Kate takes off her shoes and throws them at Steven.

"God..." Steven pushed Jennifer so their embrace slipped. He looked and found his shoes there.

"What's up Steve?" ask Jennifer

Steven did not answer. He picked up the shoes and looked at the Maids standing there. Their shoes are complete. Whose shoes are these?

Steven looked up a little and saw James and Kate standing a little far behind the maid. He smiled smirk because he knew who these shoes belonged to.

Steven wanted to get closer but his arm was held back by Jennifer. Shit.he forgot there's Jenny right now.

"Where are you going Steve? Don't you like me coming back? you still mad at me?" Jennifer looked at Steven expectantly. There was regret in both of the women's eyes.

"What are you here for? don't we have no relationship anymore? You cut our relationship yourself. Then what else do you expect?"

"Steve, plese!! I'm sorry, honey. I regret. I came back because my contract was done. And I want us to start over. Give me a chance to right my wrongs, baby." ask Jennifer

Steven fell silent. Now he has a dilemma. On one hand she still loves Jennifer but on the other hand there is Kate who can make her excited and it feels like she wants to continue being around her.
