Chapter 21: The Debate

In a white minimalist house with a simple layout, a middle-aged woman was cleaning her room. It was Jully Berley. He had been lying sick for a long time and could only rely on his daughter. But now her daughter is working and inevitably she has to take care of herself.

She could have asked her husband for help, but he didn't want to trouble Robert because he knew Robert hadn't considered her since he was sick.

Not like when they first met. At that time, Jully worked at the Bar as a waitress. He has been doing the profession long enough because he had to support his young daughter. Jully could not hide her happiness. He sat on the edge of the bed and opened the letter given by Robert. He hopes that it's not Robert's wits to hide Kate's whereabouts. But after she opened the letter, she was sure it was her daughter's handwriting.

"Hi Mom's... How's it going? I hope you're always good, Mom. Sorry, I didn't say goodbye to mommy when I left. Mommy slept really well that night. So I can't wake Mommy."

"Mommy doesn't have to worry about me. I have a pretty good job right now . I worked as a Maid in a big house. His salary is also high. For that promise me that Mommy will take care of Mommy's health. Later after I have a lot of money, we will go looking for our happiness. Mommy would, right?"

"Do you know who that guy is?" Steven who had just finished punishing Kate went straight to his study. He sat down in front of James who was struggling with his laptop.

" It looks like he's Kate Berley's stepfather, sir."

"Yes Sir. He is a former thief and was arrested by the police. But ever since he got out of prison, he's never stolen again" James said

"The amateur thief." Steven chirps. She wondered if Kate had become a thief because of her stepfather's upbringing? But if that's true, won't it look funny? Amateur thieves train legendary professional Thieves. Amusingly.

"So, what's he here for?" ask Steven

"Looks like he wants to free Kate, sir. I don't know why Kate didn't want to come. Maybe he's still thinking about our threat."

James swallowed his coarse salivary. Steven's words sounded like an order he had to do.

James bowed and walked out of Steven's study. He felt that his Master had started to have feelings for Kate because Steven did not usually behave like that to people who were new to him. But, isn't that nice?

James clucking. There hasn't been a day he's been driven crazy for having to find that woman. Although Kate has begun to occupy an important position in Steven's heart, James is still wary of the woman. Kate is not just anyone.

"What's looking for me?" Kate approaches when she hears someone looking for her.

"Master Steven's looking for you." James exclaimed

"You..."Kate growled. Steven's words were very spicy. He was not a saint but indeed he had never done that.

"Listen well to the honorable Mr. Steven. Although I am a poor woman with a criminal profession, but I am very very very very very caring for myself especially from a man like you who is used to dipping there dipping here. Disgusting."

Steven is speechless. It was an insult to her. He was an honorable man and had never done such a thing carelessly.

Steven snorted in annoyance. Kate's words shattered her mood. But it was only a moment. Because Kate already reminded her of something Kate should have done.

"A_what's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?" Kate was starting to be alert. Moreover, Steven's gaze was like an animal ready to pounce on him.

"I hope you don't forget your duty. And today, you have to wake her up." Steven pulled Kate and took her to the room.
