Chapter 42: Caught

The next day, Kate relaxes in the kitchen enjoying her meal. Every now and then he looked upstairs and there was no sign of Steven coming out of the room. It was almost noon, but the man had not yet revealed his nose.

Kate took a long breath. His hands were already so itchy as to want to clean Steven's messy room. But if the man hasn't left yet, he won't be free to clean it up.

"Why hasn't he woken up yet? Is he not in the office?" he murmured in the heart.

Kate took her dirty dishes to the sink and washed them. It seemed like he had to wake Steven up after this while making sure that the man did not die.

But just as her foot was stepping on the stairs, Jennifer came and told her to go to the boutique to pick up her order dress.

"Hey you..!!" call Jennifer

Kate looked over and took a long breath. "You want Annabelle here any more??" inner Kate

"Pick up my dress at the boutique." Jennifer ordered

"Me?" Kate pointed to herself.

"Yes you. Who else is it?"

"Listen to Miss Annabelle! I'm Mr. Steven's personal servant. And I just heard orders from him. Who are you to govern me?" said Kate

"I'm Steven's girlfriend. So I have the right to rule you too."

"former, miss. Don't forget that." Kate

Jennifer's words are stuck. She was so upset with Kate that she dared to argue against him. But anyway she should be able to get Kate out of this house because Leo is already waiting out there.

"I don't want to know. Now you're taking my dress to the boutique. Or if not, I'll get you fired by Steven." Jennifer threatened

Kate was grimacing slowly. He doesn't care until Steven fires him. He will be pleased. But wait a minute! isn't this a good opportunity to escape? She was able to get out easily on the grounds of picking up Annabelle's dress. And once she's out, she can ask someone else to drop off the dress and she doesn't need to come back. Good idea, right?

"alright. Give me the address!" pinta Kate's

Jennifer smiled cynically. He gave the address where Leo was already waiting for the woman.

"This is the address and the taxi fare. Take it easy, I paid for the dress. And remember, don't get damaged."

"Yes yes.. That's chatty." Kate went to her room to change clothes. He couldn't possibly come out in a maid's shirt because it looked ridiculous. He also carried his sling bag stuffed with weapons just in case.

"Okay Kate. Time to leave this hell." Kate stepped out. Fortunately, James has not yet arrived. He just had to face the guards.

"Where are you going, miss?" ask the guard

"I told Annabelle, I meant Miss Jennifer to pick up her dress at the boutique. If you don't believe me, you can ask her." exclaimed Kate

One of the guards made sure directly by asking Jennifer. And it turns out, Kate was asked to the boutique to pick up Jennifer's dress.

"You believe that, don't you? Now open the door!!" the door to the guard.

With hesitation, the Guard opened the gate for Kate. They even offered to take Kate. Kate refused. It could be bad if they knew he was planning to run away.

Kate stopped a taxi that happened to pass by. He got into the taxi and gave the driver his destination address.

"Are you sure, miss?" ask the driver

"Of course I'm sure." exclaimed Kate

Although it feels strange, the taxi driver continues to drive his car to the address given by Kate. He was surprised, what was the passenger there for? Doesn't he know what place he's headed?

As for Kate, she can't hide her happiness because soon she can meet her mother. He would take his mother away as planned. But before that, she had to find someone to drop off Annabelle's dress first.

But why does he feel that something is strange? Why did Annabelle ask her to pick up the dress when she just came. Couldn't he stop by the boutique first before Steven's? And if he did not have time, instead he could ask the boutique to deliver the dress.

Kate looked out the car window. He saw if the taxi he was riding in got into a narrow alley. And that made him feel strange.

"Stop sir!! Why are we here?" ask Kate

"You didn't give me that address. And this is the address you're going to, miss."

"But sir, I told Annabelle to pick up her dress at the boutique. Is there a boutique here?" ask Kate. She didn't expect Annabelle's subscription boutique to be in a slum like this.

"I don't know if there's a boutique or not. But all I know is that the place you're headed to is a very dangerous place. So are you sure you want to go there?" ask the taxi driver.

Kate fell silent. Did Jennifer lie to her? But it seems like it is. He must have been intent on getting rid of her.

"Dam.. Why would I believe Annabelle? Being near Steven makes my instincts wane." Kate's mind growled

"We turn around sir." he asked the taxi driver.

But the driver had not been able to run his car, in front of which some people stood facing them with firearms in his hands.

"Damn!! Back off!!" kate told the taxi driver.

The taxi driver stepped on the gas pedal and pulled back his car. But a bullet shot through the car's glass and lodged in the driver's chest causing him to die instantly.

"****." Kate reached into her dagger in the bag and kept it under her shirt.

"Get out!!" the man banged on the back door and inevitably, Kate got out of the cab.

"Lift hands!!" sniped the man

Kate tried to calm down. One of them put a gun on him.

"Follow us!!" exclaim that man.

Kate had no choice. He followed the three men in front of him while the one man behind him pointed a weapon at him.

"Ok, relax Kate. Only four people. So you can definitely beat them." Inwardly

Kate let out a long sigh and with a quick movement she kicked back and hit the head of the man who was pointing at her. Kate blocked the man's gun and went back and fired the gun at the three men in front of her.

Not until there, Kate kicked the man's calf and fired the weapon she snatched into the man's chest.

"That's a reward for you for taking the lives of innocent people." exclaimed Kate. He kept the weapon just in case and rushed away from there. But suddenly an anesthetic bullet shot into his back and knocked him unconscious.
