Chapter 5

Steven's Home.

Gerald sat down and drank some tea. He came to ask about the project.

The fragrant aroma of agarwood incense smoke blew from one side.

"Dad, this project with CEO Foster is very important for the Palmers family" Steven said as he made tea.

"of course. The Palmers will soon rise one level higher."

Gerald continued happily, "So what is the status of this project?"

"No problem, Archie left to sign the contract today."

Steven continued, "Your grandson never disappoints you."

Gerald was pleased and nodded his head.

All the men from the Palmer family are amazing.

"Dad!"

Archie came running like a storm, an evil expression on his face.

When he saw that Gerald was here, he did not dare to say anything.

"We just talked about you."

Steven gestured to his father, "Grandfather wants to ask how the project with CEO Foster has been so far, has he signed a contract?"

Archie looked at Gerald and became a little nervous and stuttered.

"It's uh, project..."

When he saw how he seemed hesitant with words, Steven's face fell and he had a bad feeling about this.

"I went to his office today, but CEO Foster had to take care of other things and nothing. He asked me to leave again tomorrow to sign him," Archie managed to blackmail this.

If Grandpa finds out he lost this deal, Grandpa will kill him!

"Foster's CEO started with nothing and he was always very arrogant. Since he asked you to wait one day, then just wait," replied Gerald, his face full of smiles.

"Yes, Grandpa, I will wait as you say," Archie forced himself to answer.

But Steven knew something was wrong.

He didn't say anything until his father left, then he called Archie into the study with a dark expression on his face.

"What's going on!"

He angrily shouted, "If you dare to hide anything from me, I will beat you to death!"

"Dad!"

Archie replied angrily, "This has nothing to do with me! It's Diane!"

He angrily continued, "Foster's CEO said he would only sign with Diane, and everyone had no right to see her - I was actually kicked out of the office by them right away!"

Steven had a wicked expression on his face.

Son expelled?

"That Diane must have slept with CEO Foster, otherwise how could it be like that?" Archie said sadly.

"CEO Foster also said that if the one who signed the contract with her is not Diane, then we can forget about this project and she doesn't care."

He could choose not to care, but the Palmer family could not!

"Do you know how much the Palmer family has invested in this project?"

Steven glared at his son, all ready to beat him to death. "If we lose this project, even if I don't kill you, your grandfather will!"

Archie's face immediately turned deathly pale.

"What are we doing now?" he asked worriedly.

He thought that he could only claim credit for all the work he did not do, but who knew it turned out to be a difficult situation.

"What are we doing now?"

Steven scolded angrily, "Who asked you to fire Diane now! Now we've lost the project and we both have to get out!"

Archie did not dare to speak up.

Her father was the one who fired Diane, because she was the CEO.

"Get Diane back and sign this project!"

Steven shouted, "Once he gets this signature, throw him out again!"

"Is he ready?" Archie asked carefully.

"Call him now!"

Archie gulped and did not dare to refute.

He pulled out his phone and called Diane, but no one picked her up.

Diane did not want to pick up the phone from them at all right now.

"Dad, he didn't answer. What do we do?"

Steven laughed coldly. "It looks like this young lady has some self-esteem huh, I guess we should go visit her and ask her to come back."

If the project wasn't as important as this, he didn't want to see all three members of the William family at all.

Oh wait, there's still that crazy son-in-law, so four members now.

Now that Diane had lost her right to fight for the family business, she did not want to bother with this useless trash.

But he couldn't think too much about all this right now.

Steven immediately escorted Archie to Diane's place.

Soon, the two of them reached the old and seedy Magnolia Plantation.

Steven frowned as he looked at the area around him, walking very carefully as if he was afraid of dirtying his pants.

"This is this house."

Archie pointed at one of the doors.

It seemed like they would never come to a place like this.

Palmer's family was rich, but the money was in Gerald's hands, and although his children worked for the Palmer Group, they only received annual salaries and bonuses.

After William became paralyzed, he was unable to work anymore so he could not support his family anymore. He has a home to live in because his father pityes him.

Archie banged on the door hard.

"Come on! Why did you have to bang on the door so hard!"

That's April's voice coming from home.

He opens the door to find Steven and his son standing at the door and he freezes for a while.

After his initial shock, his face immediately fell.

"What are you doing here!"

"We're looking for Diane."

Steven calmly said this while pushing the door open and entered. "Where is he?"

"He's not in!"

April spoke harshly, "What do you want with her?"

"Diana!"

Steven couldn't be bothered with April and started shouting. "Uncle Steven is here, aren't you out to greet me?"

Diane could hear it from her room. He didn't expect them to actually come to his place.

For years, even after his father was crippled, Steven had never visited them. What do they want today?

"Come on, let's go."

Ethan pulls Diane's hand and drags her out.

Steven started laughing when he saw Diane coming out.

"Diane, still mad at me?"

Dian did not answer.

"About the company that fired you, it's just a misunderstanding."

The expression 'I don't care' flashed across Steven's face, "But the company needs you back to sign that contract with CEO Foster. If you still want to leave the company, you can leave after the contract is signed."

Diane's body started shaking violently from anger when she heard this.

When they don't need it, they just fire it. When they need it, they immediately come looking for it. What do they consider it as? Tools to throw it away after use?

April also understood what was going on.

Steven and his son actually fired Diane, and he doesn't even know.

"Steven, what does this mean? What do you think of Diane as? You consider this whole family as what!"

He's very angry.

"April's aunt, your family isn't worth much."

Archie continued in disdain, "Now just because Diane has value, otherwise I wouldn't bother coming to a rundown house like yours."

"You…"

April's face was filled with anger and she raised her hand to slap Archie's face.

"Hit if you dare!"

Steven shouted threateningly, "You old lady, you dare to hit a member of the Palmer family?"

April bit her lip. He had just called her an old woman - what an insult!

Suddenly there was a loud slap.

Archie held his face in disbelief. Ethan hit him again!

"Who gave you the guts to insult my mother-in-law like that?"

Ethan took a step forward and said calmly, "If you need to ask for help, you should ask humbly and kindly. Didn't your father teach you that?"
