Arc 1 Chapter 38: Mentor

The annihilation that had occurred in the ruins had already reached its end. Liz was facing a winged Gremlin flying above her. The gremlin tries to attack Liz, but Liz manages to avoid it. ‘Devading it is very easy, but I do not have a strong enough attack and fast to hit it in the air.’ Liz then recalled the attack used by Rhea.

Liz gathered up the mana and held it in her sword. The gremlin started flying around Liz, looking for a crack.

Liz breathed in a deep – and mimicked the movement she saw earlier. His sword started to emit a fire.

“ Haaa!!!” Liz releases a slash that leads to the Gremlin.

A Shockwave with fire all around him then shot towards the Gremlin.

BOMBBB!!!!

“ Keakkkk!!!” The gremlin then fell after being attacked by Liz's technique.

‘The speed is faster than Fireball spells, but still slower than Rhea's attack. I need to further refine it.’

After a long fight, the holy knights managed to find the magic circle of summoning monsters in the ruins and then destroyed it.

They completed the Quest faster than expected, because they did not find a Summoner who made the magic circle.

After receiving their reward, Liz and the Four Horsemen parted ways because Liz wanted to train first near the Rhine river before returning to the City.

The sun has reached its highest peak which indicates it has entered daylight. After a while of training, Liz went to the river to clean her equipment.

But when he reached the river bank, Liz saw the body of a man who was washed away by the river current. Liz started running and swimming to help him.

After Liz brought him to the edge, Liz saw the man had several wounds all over his body. Liz then did first aid to try to remove the water that had entered the man's body.

After doing first aid, Liz decides to wait until the man dies.

Liz estimated the age of the man was in his 30s and in view of his completeness, he was like a Hunter.

‘Who exactly is this guy?’ Liz asks – asks.

Luciel and Alan swam to the banks of the river after a few minutes of drifting.

“ Hahh... hahhh, you got bang Alan?” Luciel asked while panting.

“ Gw cape really..” Alan said.

Luciel looked around and tried to find a place to rest.

“ Where are we?” Ask Alan.

“ I don't know, we have to find a place to hide. I think they'll be looking for us,” Luciel said.

They then walked for a while and rested in the corner of the cave. Luciel then took off his shoes which were put in water.

“ Then, what do we do now?” Ask Alan.

‘ Not that you're a senior who should make the decision’ umpat Luciel in heart.

“ I think we are at the bottom of the 5.” level Luciel said.

“Then what are you waiting for? Let's move,” Alan said.

They then began to move in search of a ladder to rise to the surface. After some time they moved, they found a hole that led up. Luciel looked at Alan.

‘You first’ Alan has an expression that says like that.

“ Hahhh...” Luciel then began climbing into a hole that has an area of 1 meter.

Moments later Luciel reached the edge of the hole and began peering around.

Luciel saw dozens of Lycanthrope who were eating several dead patrol troops.

“ Hey, what did you see Suriel?” Ask Alan.

“ Shhhhhh!!” Luciel hinted him to be quiet. “We have to find another way,” said Luciel.

On the other hand Paul and Serlina had reached level 1 and handed the bandit over to Garth.

“ We do not have enough personnel to eradicate them all,” Garth said

“But, two of our colleagues are still in there,” reply Serlina.

“We will save them later after asking Wathcmeister for help,” Garth explained. “You can do it yourself in there if you want, but the patrol troops will retreat first.”

Garth leaves them and prepares to escort the patrol back. Patrol forces have claimed 6 lives in the mine.

They re-entered and planned to wait at the pulley leading to level 3.

Liz POVs

Liz was preparing firewood to cook the rabbit she had just hunted, but she heard something.

“ ahh... agghhh!”

The man he saved arrived – woke up.

“ Do not move first, you are still seriously injured,” said Liz.

“ Where is this? And who are you?” The man looked at Liz and asked her her condition.

“ I found you drifting in the river and took you to the shore,” replied Liz.

The man then seemed to wake up and began to feel – his face. Soon he stopped and bowed as if thinking of something.

“ That's how you saved me. Thank you young girl,” The man thanked Liz.

“ Equally, and you can call me Liz” Liz smiled and went back to preparing her firewood while asking a few questions.

“ So, why can master drift in the river?” Ask Liz.

“Oh, I am a hunter and was hunting a monster earlier,” the man then showed his Hunter card to Liz.

Liz then took it and looked at the data on the card.

Liz was surprised to see the high ranking of the man she helped.

“It looks like you're a hunter too, my name is Rolf, ” Rolf smiled and introduced himself.

“Yes, I just finished an extermination Quest in the ruins,”.

“ Is That”

Liz then burned the rabbit she had obtained and offered it to the man. After eating they then chat – talk.

“Really?!!! You are a former holy knight?” Liz asked surprised to hear it.

“Yes, but it's been a while since I came out,” Rolf said.

“Why did you come out?” Ask Liz.

“I have a son of the same age as you who is sick, so I went out to find information about his healing methods,” explained Rolf.

"Why not the priest? I think with the Rank Hunter you have, you won't have any trouble paying for it" Liz said.

"My son's illness is a little special" replied Rolf.

Liz then did not ask further and changed the topic.

“Well, I dreamt of becoming a knight you know,” Liz said explaining her dream and her journey of how she got to this point as well as her reasons for becoming a knight.

“You have a great dream Liz,” said Rolf.

Rolf thought about something for a moment and said.

“What if I become Liz's mentor?” Ask Rolf.

Hearing this Liz couldn't help but feel her joy and stood up.

“Really?” Ask Liz again to make sure.

“ Yes, because Liz has saved me, I will teach you some techniques of a knight and philosophical to become a true knight,” Rolf said with a smile looking at the girl in front of him looking very happy.

They then chatted – talk and decided to wait there until Rolf could walk again.
